If Makhail was working with Ben and the others, he must have known that they had access to the Pearl and sometimes used it for surveillance. Why did he turn the camera off, who was he worried was watching him? Did he know that the losties where there right at that time?

At that time it was his understanding that the Pearl was locked up and covered up with the plane.

Good point... Who would have originally deactivated the camera hook ups in the Pearl. I recall Sayid hooking up the feed that showed Makhail. Why would all cameras be disabled with the exception of the Swan? Did Dharma disable the cameras? Kelvin? Radinski??? Why would the monitor be left on 24/7 if nobody was there? Why wouldn't Ben want Tom, Pickett, Ryan or someone to be stationed in the Pearl 24/7 for a while and also get the other cameras working to check on the other hatches? The tallies had been at the Arrow...

Well, there isnt much of a need to constantly monitor the other hatches, especially the Arrow, because it seems like there is nothing of value there. Even if the Losties are hanging out in the Arrow, or the Staff for that matter, there is nothing there that has much value.

Even when they found the costumes and beard glue, Tom didn't even care that they knew they were phonies.
