My theory is rather on the scientific side of things that this island is something like the Bermuda Triangle where ships and planes can become "lost in transit". Both the USA and France are aware of ships/planes that have become lost in a specific area latitude/longitude. The magnetic pull can bring the planes/ships into the island, but the island also seems to sense people who have special abilities. I expect the hatch and all the scientific items built inside were built by previous tenants who many since died. Some could have been scientists or government agents. How the Island orginated, I still have no idea. I still tend to think the USA government knows something about this Lost Island.

At any rate Abrams is a genius -- first with Alias and now with Lost in coming up with intriguing television programming.
I have written him letters twice thanking him for this and all his creative writers. I commend them. It has been years since I have been intrigued by television enough to tape all the episodes and watch them again. So, this is my outlook thus far on Lost. I do think all these people who have survived had special reasons they survived....as to why I still am not sure.

In Alias, JJ Abrams has continued to modify from year to year and some claim this may be the final year of Alias. Actors come and go, so often writers have to make changes. Sometimes our ideas can get written into a episode by total accident. Perhaps this web site may inspire some of that.

Thanks.
