I've been wondering about the discovery of the tail section and its survivors.
It seems like there's an excellent chance that the tail section does indeed have some people left alive (Rose's husband, if her instinct that he's alive is true- Michelle Rodriguez's character Anna-Lucia- whoever was communicating with Boone over the radio).
So, what will happen when the group is discovered? Will they just merge with the original survivors? That seems too easy. I think, in the 40 days they've been there, odds are good that they have been experiencing unusual (supernatural?) phenomenon, just like the regulars (perhaps even moreso- especially if they're on the same side of the island as the Others). Imagine if there's a really religiously-bent person in the tail section- what that person would make of everything... surely they could mold it to fit any theory they like (as we are currently doing it). I think a character like this is inevitable... among the regular cast, only Locke begins to approach this persona... he's clearly affected in a faith-based way. He has his theories, but he hasn't been evangelizing them... not really trying to convert in a serious way (not yet anyway).
I suspect there will be something amiss with the Tail Section Survivors... if not a religious hysteria, then perhaps the dreaded infection that Danielle has suggested (or the source of the Quarantine). They may even become the new Others.
