Magnetic field? **Spoilerish**

Hello,

I was reading the forum last night and had a thought... Not sure how possible it is.

Someone mentioned in a post, about a writer from the show being interviewed. He said a book called The third policeman

could be useful in working out theories about Lost.

Someone else(maybe the same person), who had read the book, tried to explain what the book was about. One of the things

he mentioned was something about a fictitious theory on time travel, where using a lot of mirrors positioned to reflect each

other, stretched out far enough, would eventually allow you to see yourself as a child.

I couldn't help but think about the mirrors Desmond used to see the hatch... Maybe Desmond uses the mirror system because

the magnetic field and whatever it's used for causes time distortion?
Maybe it's a side effect of whatever they are doing? Maybe it's actually what they're doing? I don't have any sources but i'm

sure i've read about strong magnetic fields possibly/theoreticly being able to distort time...?

As you have probably seen, there are a lot of theories on magnetism, mirrors and time loops, etc. But I don't recall seeing your specific concept of time distortion through mirrors. Could you flesh this out?
