Since there is no known way, except stem cell, to cure a paralyzed person with injuries, there IS a magical element to the story.
While some people think everything makes sense or "could be" real, this may not be the case.
If we realize this we realize that most theories are bs probably because anything can happen.
Also, about the numbers, there's two ways this can happen, either someone or something put the numbers there on purpose, or it's all coincidental, obviously if it's coincidental abrams wouldn't have put them there to begin with because he knows the fans would be dissapointed if that was the only explanation for them.
We're given all these clues, and nobody can possibly puzzle them together right now, mostly because of the paralyzed people who woke up with functioning legs.. If we can't assume everything follows the laws of physics, how can we make theories?
Then again they could bring in some bs theory about experimental treatments that nobody has ever heard about, and then use that as an excuse, but i don't think Abrams is that stupid.
Now don't get me wrong I absolutely love the show, but I can't understand how people can make up all these theories without sufficient evidence.
So here's my theory, for what it's worth.
1. The numbers
Not much can be said about the numbers, we know that they are not there by coincidence, and we know from one past experience that the numbers can bring bad luck.
Since I don't believe nothing is random, why would a meteorite crash into a burger joint?
2. The islands security system
Not much can be said about this either, but if the island needs a security system, it's obviously protecting something, maybe itself?
It sounds alive, but it could also be a machine. It can also be consisted of some unknown molecule brought on the island by the aliens running the island. We just don't know.
I will fill out more later but I suddenly grew tired of typing.
