I was thinking that Julie Bowen's miracle of walking again was most likely due to someone exerting "their special powers on her." Its very peculiar that just before Bowen's cure, Jack is discussing the situations with Desmund. Hopefully that encounter was a Real encounter and not some TV show dream/hallucinating on Jack's part.
Therefore, if she was cured by a "miracle." Then its possible that it was from either Jack or Desmund. Then, this could be tied into the "magical powers" that Walt possesses. Perhaps Jack or Desmund also have the gift. Or maybe they both do.
Jack has been a man of science, but what if by the end of the season he becomes a "Man of Faith." Maybe his skill as a doctor was due more to his powers.
Desmund definately has "the gift." I believe this because he lives on the island and is probably one of the "Others." We know the others is comprised or wants children w/ the special powers. So I believe that Desmund has the powers, but whether he is actually a member of the "Pirates" I cannot be certain.
Kate - does anyone think that she has "the Gift." This may have to do with her accidental murders. In an effort to protect herself, she may have killed those around her. That is why her mother is afraid of her. Kate is Cursed with the Gift!!!
