I love her character. It's a shame that they let her stand in the background doing nothing. Come on, her character is so much more dense than Kate or Sawyer. They missed so many occasions to use her. Unfortunately, there's a new law on Lost: Claire gets a single flashback episode per year and this is the only episode where we see her doing something.

I couldn't of put it any better myself, Tptb have really start to use characters that stand in the Back rather than Jack/Kate/Sawyer Show.

You're absolutely right - that's why they keep her standing in the background where she belongs.

Claire's lack of flashbacks are for her own good. There's a Reason why she's had so few, and it's not because she's a minor character. On the contrary, she's the most important person on the Island, save one.
 Here's to the success of your Society. As a character I think she's been overlooked for too long and much more to add to Lost than providing milk for Aaron.
I'm not joining, this looks like it's going to be a lust club and I'm a straight female so she doesn't appeal to me in that way. Still it's good to see her finally getting some attention, half the creepy Losties have more than her in the show and here at the forum.

I second the motion...
Now my bias in her beauty is something that could blind my reason for wanting to know more about the character, but in a totally "Die-hard fan of Lost way" I feel that her character should be explored more (especially since Charlie is gone). She has given birth to the only "true" island baby in who knows how long and she is a half-sibling to the most prominent character on the show, not to mention the daughter of the most mysterious person besides Jacob (that's assuming they aren't one and the same). I am hoping that the reason we have been left in the dark about Claire lately has more to do with the writers keeping the "truth" from us viewers as long as they can, so eventually her story will be a HUGE part of the overall story and explanation...
Oh yeah, did I mention how HOT she is! :love2:

Surely, they could do alot with her. Besides killing her off in an awesome way.
Obviously Aaron is important, but I just hope Claire is part of that importance to raise him. I agree with Khan when she say's all she is around for at the moment is Breast milk for Aaron.
Plus, now that the Tribe has divided, I think this could be a very good oppurtunity for Claire to actually get some Dialogue. Not just telling Locke "not to shoot Ben".
They have alot they could do, as You Said T-Man. There is Jack, Christian, and Rousseau and Alex. She owe's the last 2 for her life and she still hasn't communicated with them since they have done that. Personally, I'd like to see those relationships grow.
I have a feeling that Claire will be the one to Discover that Jack and Her are related, but she'll get killed off before they have the chance to explore that bond.

I agree... Just re-watching last episode, and everytime someone says something meaningful they show Claire's reaction. Sorry about the use of the term "boss"... In my experience (which is basically only in Florida, heck I've never seen snow in my 29 years of existence) Democracy is the lesser of the evils of all governments (paraphrasing someone I think) and I had already assumed we were a part of this government style.
Why you ask, well as you our founder and our other members (only 4, huh) already know...
Fact: a group of people who can see the true beauty, grace, charm, hotness, and amazing power of Claire are not only the smartest, most well-adjusted people on the planet, but are also very capable of making any society work! Therefore we would choose a democratic one. Our complete and total ability to see Claire for what she is, not only makes us truly special, it makes us as close as any one mortal can be to seeing the true meaning of all of life and the universe!
Yes this is a fact, and see no logical way this could ever be disproved.
Anyway, back to the whole "boss" thing. I get in the habit of calling everyone who is my boss... boss, and was just using the term more jokingly but should have known better, and instead used the term, Brutha!

No, I got some images already saved in "my pictures" and one in particular, but everytime I try to put it in, it works but the image is only that white box with the red X. I have tried re-sizing it smaller and smaller but no-dice.
Maybe if I keep playing around I'll figure it out though. You sure that permissions thing that says NO for uploading images isn't the problem?

You need to go to some place like photobucket.com and set up an account.
(they are free)
You can then upload your pictures to photobucket account, and then just put the reference code in your signature to refer to that account, and not try and upload to the pictures directly. That's your problem. I don't think this site allows for the hosting of the pics. Let photobucket host the pic, and then you can just put the reference code in your signature.
My signature is not uploaded here. It resides at photobucket and all I do is use the image tag in the user CP area to reference that the image I want to use resides at

I do agree yours relates to her character and the show much better, but when I was looking through pictures of her, I really liked this one because her face was on the right-side of the "banner" leaving room for the "CL.A.SS" insignia... I knew it... I was watching it with my friend, and all of a sudden it hit me. What name is she gonna call her kid, or what is he gonna look like. They could have Kate come home to her kid and call him "James", but that wouldn't be shocking enough for Lost... Then after Jack not being able to see the kid, I knew right away... it was gonna be Aaron!
...meaning Jack oviously finds out about Claire being his half-sister and couldn't take seeing his nephew knowing what has happened to Claire and the others.
Now my first reaction is Clarie is probably dead by this time in the story and could be the case or (I am hoping) she is still on the island, and somehow got seperated from Aaron (which I find hard to see how yet) and since Kate is the only woman (who probably isn't Korean) of the Oceanic 6, she would have to claim him as her own so no one would ask questions.
I will admit I only figured it out as Kate was walking in the house, but I did figure it out. Now I only hope Claire is still alive on the island and not dead! Cause that would suck!!

Anyhoo's have you come over your "OH NO CLAIRE IS DEAD" phase?
She has to raise the baby so Aaron can get a happy ending. She's alive otherwise they would have plain straight told us "Claire died" or something. I know my argument isn't strong but my hope is.
CL.A.SS
Rule number 01233: All societies members must have hope.
((Yeah, there are no rules, but what the hey))
I am sorry but after I heard the news that there was a slim possibility that Claire could be a victim of an untimely death Thursday night, I actually used my CL.A.SS rule book as tissues to wipe away my excessive crying. Luckily when I got to the page that actually had rule # 01233 on it (funny you should mention it), a light went on in my head, and the thought of Claire hurt seriously in any way on the island quickly disappeared and my frown was immediately turned upside down! (It was like divine intervention that my tear ducts went dry right on that page)
A CL.A.SS miracle if you ask me... I am convinced now she is fine and their is a great reason why Aaron and Clarie get separated, which I am very curious to find out! Look on the bright side, this guarantees at least a lot more episodes where Claire should be more of a focus!!! :)
EDIT: I just read the C.I.A. (Claire is Alive) in your sig... and love it!!!

Feel free to use Buddy :D
And even if she does die (Which she won't) she has ALOT to wrap up in her storyline (Desmond has to give her Charlies greatest hits, she has to find charlies ring, she has to discover that Jack and her are siblings.)
Regardless there is a lot of screentime.

It's Added!... I admit, I had a moment of weakness but am now behind the the "Truth" and the "Gospel" acknowledging that Claire is still alive 100%.
:worshippy :pray1:
Great points on many big loose ends about Claire they need to tie up, especially the huge story explaining how she is still alive, and out of pure self-sacrifice had to give Aaron to Kate in a way to protect him from what must end up being such a dramatic event that puts her in the ultimate dilemma, give up and protect the life of her son thinking her own death to be inevitable, however through her courage and beauty (haven't figured out exactly how the whole "beauty" part will actually help her escape death) she just barely escapes her own demise... Continuing to be the true shining light of the greatest show in the land!
:candlelight:
I probably should have thrown spoiler tags around that last bit of info, not wanting to ruin it for the rest of everyone, becasue I know full well now, nothing is gonna happen to our "Island Angel" :shhh:

To read the: Claire Littleton Adoration and Support Society

I would like to join. Claire is my favorite character on the show. Just something about her that makes feel as though she's tied in more than the other losties are.
She's totally underused but I think something major is going to happen involving her. There's more to her story than we're being told.

It certainly was one of the best episodes, and I sure do wish we get to see some more of Claire and her story coming up soon! With the flash-forwards being the norm and her not being part of the "6", I am wondering how long that might be. Hopefully they will start showing flash-forwards of the island survivors (assuming their are some), and hopefully the whole daughter of Christian Sheppard will reveal itself somehow.
Anyways friendly eyeball, glad you love the #1 girl on the show as much as the rest of us in here!

I was hoping the same thing, I mean, from what we can tell probably 3 years have passed. If there are people still on that Island, then yes we deserve to know what they will do with that time. Are they in trouble? are they captured? Are they in hiding with the others?
I'm really curious to see what happened to Claire. And hope Aaron getting taken by Kate actually gives her a decent storyline. Its long overdue at this point, and I hope for the sake of this fanclub that they don't just resort to killing the blonde hotty off. I would feel cheated.

I think the story that will eventually show us the events that lead up too, and finally answer why Aaron ends up leaving/living with Kate, should turn out to be an extremely exciting and eventful one... Hopefully being one of the best storylines in the series to date, none of the outcomes of course, ending with Clarie's death  ! I have heard theories elsewhere, suggesting that something terrible probably happens on the island (which I agree with), and the Losties find out about (or stumble upon) this information, causing only some to get off the island witht he possiblity of getting back basically impossible. This would make all parties on the island, the original island inhabitants (the Others) and the remaining 815 crew, to become very fearful of everyone loosing their lives. Knowing this possiblility of danger, Claire gives Aaron to Kate who gets away somehow (probably first or in some daring escape) knowing Kate is Aaron's best chance for survival off the island, and as Kate's son he should not cause any questions once she makes it back to L.A.
Now (only dreaming about this), while left on the island, Claire becomes a very huge part of defending the island and making sure that she will once again be reunited with Aaron and when that happens, no outside forces will be able to destroy the mother/son relationship they have, nor will they be able to find them because super, sexy, bad-ass Claire (with the help of Locke, Sawyer, etc..) have settled the score once and for all and have taken down all possible threats to themselves and to the island! (I know a little far fetched, but I like the idea myself a lot: Picture a Rambo-type-Claire!) :yikes:
My favorite wish is, after she is separated from Aaron on the island, she become completely merciless, carrying guns and using them at free will whenever someone threatens her or her friends.
:swordfight: :boxing: :catfight: :matrix: :gonnagetit:
Claire, now with an arsenal of weapons :terminator:, and a no-mercy, death-wish :death: to all her enemies, and still looking sexy the whole time!!!

Heeee's back!
Been away from a computer the past week... But it sure does feel good to come back and know someone misses you (Awwww...Thanks Lostaway )
Another episode of No Claire, huh?! Well, since no one from Team Locke was present, I guess it is OK. I will say that I really did like the episode and have always been a fan of Sun and Jin's relationship/story. I wonder if their are some J.I.A. (Jin is Alive) people out there? I am a full-fledged C.I.A. believer and know we will find out she was left behind somehow, but am a little weary about Jin's future. I just don't see Sun getting that emotional at the grave site, unless she somehow witnessed Jin's demise. I think if he was left behind, it would have been brought up in her conversation to his grave. Like saying "Don't worry we will find you". Maybe Jin is the one who the previews say is gonna die next week. I don't think it is, because it wouldn't be a huge enough shock 1 week after learning he probably died. I do know one thing though... It better not be Claire they are talking about! :scared:
Well with the recent lack of Claire material, here is too next week's episode being a flashback of Claire and her journey through the world of strip-clubs! . Nothing to do with furthering the Lost plot whatsoever. Just Claire in revealing outfits, dancing and kicking the butt of some unruly customers every once in a while, as well as getting friendly with a co-worker or two! Now that's good TV :D

The Other Woman was our latest episode here in New Zealand, and though it was for only a moment, boy was it wonderful to get a little breath of fresh Claire!! Like you guys I can't get enough of this girl, so I thought it was time I dropped by and expressed the fact. It's the right thing to do.
I don't get the Claire hate I see around. I respect that everyone has the own crappy opinion and we're all entitled to hear it (:p), but I don't get it. Hating on the accent (that's like, almost pseudo-sub-racism, man) and the motherly instinct? Maybe I'm just tolerant of these kinda things. After all, I was never once bothered by [*clears throat*] WAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLT!!!! slash mah boi. (But you know mah bayby is superior... :D)
A parent does anything for their kids' safety, it's natural.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that Claire = goodness. Hawt-mama bombshellicious island goodness. Which is an essential island ingredient, you know. I think my fanaticism grows with each episode (whether she's actually in it or not). Yeah, you tell that pathetic Mr. Clean, honey. Let him know he can either go back to being super-awesome S1 Locke or move aside and let someone else try getting answers.
Also pleasebealivethanks.

And yes, I am never bothered by the "Moi baibai" or even the "Walllt" screams of the show. I love the parents of Lost, because they are all so confused what to do it draws you into their characters. For some reason I find it easier to understan their characters, because I can only imagine that being on that island all you would care about is your child! It would be out of character not too!
So, yes your reasons for loving the adorable Claire littleton is about the same reason as why me and the others lover her as well.
Again, welcome to the club :D

Hi there!
I joined this forum just to say that I am a Claire-fan too :wave2:
I also wanted to ask a question of the Claire fans here...
I'm a relative LOST newbie, I've bought seasons 1 & 2 on DVD, but have watched them sporatically in between chasing my kids around LOL and only started watching regularly as of Season 3. I'm also not really the type to delve deep into character analysis and all that, I either like them or I dont :P
Something has been bothering me since the start of season 4. Can anyone explain to me why Claire seems to not really be bothered by Charlie's death? I know she hasnt been seen much this season, but she doesnt seem to be sad or mourning or anything. Even her initial reaction when Hurley told her what had happened, she didnt react the way I'd expected (and waited FOREVER to see). I think I was more upset about Charlie than she appears to be LOL
Have I missed something here?
nice to meet you all
Lostaway
03-20-08, 09:10 PM
I'll take this one.
One of the many qualities of her character have told us she's not one to get attached to people that easily. Her mother is in a coma, her father left her at an early age and again at 17, her boyfriend Thomas deserted her when she was pregnant, and she didn't name Aaron until a few days after she had him.
She dosen't get attached to people easy, she dosen't like to experience the loss.
Smoochies97
03-20-08, 10:06 PM
that makes sense... I guess i just dont put much thought into the subtle nuances of characters.
I do think it was a lost opportunity for Emilie to have a knock-out scene, I was a huge Charlie fan and was hoping to see her (and Hurley) mirror the feelings of charlie-fans.
thanks for the insight :D
Tambourine Man

Hi there!
Something has been bothering me since the start of season 4. Can anyone explain to me why Claire seems to not really be bothered by Charlie's death?
This is because Charlie was just a male-companion to fill her time stuck on the island until she is returned to... ME!
Didn't you ever wonder why Charlie only got to first-base with Claire a couple of times, and that's all? Those were just pity kisses given to him for taking care of Aaron and following her around like a lost puppy dog. If she went any further with the guy that might be considered cheating and she wouldn't want to feel guilty around me when we are once again reunited back into each other's arms!
:nanabobo:
I wish... But seriously, it is a good point and what Lostaway said seems to be the most logical explanation. Maybe though, the island itself and the healing properties associated with the island, has something to do with it. Hurley's mourning of Libby wasn't all that intense either, and dropped off substantially after the initial day of her murder. It was basically just a day or so, and then rather quickly he was back to being the happy-go-lucky and carefree Hugo we all know and love. Now I know we would have pretty boring story-lines if every time a character died the person(s) closest to that character just slugged around the island for a week or two in depression, so it appears everyone seems to forget about their misfortunes very quickly (not forget exactly but move on quicker than most would).
Now what if the pain a person feels when they lose someone close to them heals quicker on the island? We know the island has put Rose's cancer into remission (maybe even destroying it for good), fixed Locke's spine, been responsible for Ben getting the complete and utter crap beaten out of him many, many times only to be walking around days later with little too no markings on him, made Naomi's punctured lung heal super-fast, as well as been responsible for tons of other injuries that have happened on the island heal quicker, and has maybe even stopped the aging process inside the body of one Mr. Richard Alpert... I truly believe the island was responsible for Charlie kicking his heroin addiction so fast as well. Now, if you can't fly on a plane from Australia to L.A. without having to snort heroin because you're already feeling dope-sick, than you have a very serious and very severe drug problem... and I promise you, you would need a little more than just 5 days to a week to be up on your feet and running around the jungle again!
Now if the island can help you with the physical (and possibly mental) problems of heroin addiction and allow you to just quit cold-turkey with success, then why couldn't it help speed along the grieving process when you lose someone you love on the island? I am sure we will never get a definitive answer by the show on this subject, but I like to think of it this way, and not believe that Claire is so cold-hearted that she has basically forgotten about Charlie already!
:rolleyez: Whoa! I guess I went off on a huge tangent with your question their... Don't mind me  I'm just really tired and like reading myself think out-loud!
Anyways :welcome: Smoochies97 and Deus Ex Machina, certainly very glad to have more new faces around here to join the best club period in this whole forum!

As far as Lost goes, that is why I have TIVO! I didn't get to watch last week's episode until I got home around 11:30, but it was actually pretty cool knowing I had Lost to look forward to as soon as I walked through my door! I also really liked skipping through all the commercials. There is no way I could ever wait and watch Lost like that if I was home when it first airs. I have an addictive personality, and have to have life's pleasures right away, especially my Lost fix :toke:

Make sure you chill out bigtime once that super long period of work is over, T-Man. I'm totally with you on enjoying the knowledge you have Lost to come home to, and being able to skip the ads. I work 5pm to 1.30am, and I'm always excited when I leave on Wednesdays because a freshly baked episode is waiting at home for me to devour. I love coming home to Lost.
And I came home to Claire tonight! ...Too bad she was only present a few minutes. See, here in New Zealand tonight we Met Kevin Johnson. This is gonna be hard - I'm glad Claire was in the episode (by gawd were her eyes amazing in this ep?!), but it's not enough to stave off the Miss Littleton-related withdrawl symptoms until Lost returns. It's weird, we've never had a 'hiatus' before. Usually a new season of Lost starts here way after it does in America (thus in playing catch up we experience no mid-season break). But this time we were only one episode behind America, so we're getting the break here too.
There's quite a few wonderful Clairetastic sigs on the board... I want to do something myself, but I'm not that great with Photoshop (despite using it every night at work).. so it might be a while. I have some ideas for various sig pictures I'd like to make (not all Lost-related), one of which would include Claire.

I've been wanting to find a good sig as well. But I'm not exactly sure how to put in in my profile. Is there a sig section for dummies around here?
I'm estatic that she didn't die. If Claire dies I'm gonna be seriously PO'ed. IMO, Claire has more potential for a character than a lot of the characters on Lost. I may stand alone in the opinion but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Here's hoping that Claire gets more screen time for our enjoyment and no death warning or watches! says a little prayer
BTW, thanks for inviting me to this forum Lostaway! Glad to be here among Claire loving friends!!!

Well, Just think about it,
Claire+Jin are both presumed dead, both have been majorly underused since season 1. So either this is a big step up for them... or something else we all fear.
*Spoiler Warning*
Emilie de Ravin is still working on set filming with Josh Holloway, they are currently filming episode 11. So She's alive until then at least.

Hello fellow C.L.A.S.S.Y members... I am liking the new job and with working so much haven't been around here in a while. I'm actually trying to stay away from all things Lost while the hiatus is still underway, so right before the new episode starts I can watch all 8 previous episodes back-to-back a night or two before so everything will seem fresh and exciting (got em all saved on my Tivo). I actually just woke up because I couldn't sleep and found myself drawn back here...
Anyways, if there is anyplace on this site I should make an appearance in, it is certainly this thread!

:yikes: WOW!!!! :yikes: What an amazing episode IMO! Exciting from start to finish!
A little scare there w/ our girl underneath a big ole' pile of exploded house! I didn't think she was gonna die but they sure did have me thinking this is how her and Aaron got seperated.... but of course TPTB have the great abillity to get us going one way and shoot us right back around thinking something else... it seems we'll have to wait longer to find out how the seperation unfolds (which at least means more Claire!)
The coolest thing for me (besides Claire of course) was Smokie being summoned by Ben and kicking some serious butt! :thumbs_up
I just cruised around the site and saw some people really buying into the "Lost is a Game" theory after tonight's episode the way "Risk" was shown being played and Ben and Widmore discussing the "rules"...
But I actually feel this episode is holding more credence toward a theory I read by Gardenmom involving the biblical character of Jacob and his son's. I haven't found the theory yet to reread it and can't remember exactly how all of it went, but I do remember how much work she put into it and how much correlation there seemed to be between the biblical story and the story we have been watching so far. I think possibly Ben and Widmore could be both Jacob's son's or somehow closely tied to him spiritually with both laying claim to what is his left behind (the island), but unable to harm one another to get it... I'm kind of not making sense, but I am sure when I find Gardenmom's theory I'll be able to see what she thinks about this episode and understand more of what my gut is telling me.
Anyways haven't been around much, but sure wanted to chime on in about tonight's brilliant episode, as well as cheer on another week of Claire still alive, well, and oh soooo beautiful!
Sure can't say the same for poor Alex though... R.I.P. :pray1:  :death:

I am totally w/ ya Lostaway. Throughout the whole episode, I kept waiting for something more exciting to happen than an Appendix operation! What made it even worse was the previews for the episode ABC ran throughout the week had the announcer saying "Don't miss the most thrilling episode of the season". I guess if Appendixes are your thing, than it was outright amazing! It did answer some questions about Kate, Jack and Hurley while off the island, and I guess Jack and Kate being engaged was interesting as well as watching Jack start ruining the good thing he had almost immediately... But seriously, for an episode that is a part of the 5 final episodes of the season to be that boring was pretty weak. Especially since we all know that these episodes are a more "action-packed" version of the originally planned final 8 episodes we lost during the strike, and even more so because it followed such an awesome episode last week.
The final 2 minutes did give the episode some excitement for me however, which I am sure it did for the rest of you guys in our society here... Knowing how TPTB do things, we probably wont learn about what happened to Claire for at least another episode or two after this weeks coming up, but I sure am excited to see that Claire is gonna be a huge focal point from here on out for at least the rest of this season... I sure hopes she doesn't die though! C.I.A.
- Did anyone find the way Jack said "Aaron isn't your son" (or something like that) to Kate confusing. Confusing in the way that it was kind of hard to read into whether or not Aaron's real mother (our girl) is presumed still alive on the island or not... I hate to say it but for some reason the way he was talking made it seem like maybe she had died (I know I should bite my tongue). Kind of like the way you couldn't really tell if Kate was talking to Sawyer on the phone, or doing something for him and talking to someone else...
I sure am curious about the "saving Kate's life", "Jack coming back for Kate", and the "Sawyer making his choice" Jack is talking about... I am guessing none of these things have happened yet on the show (maybe Sawyer choosing to stay w/ Locke's team is one of those things, but I doubt it).
Anyways like I mentioned earlier, not really a great episode by any means. However, it still was a new episode of the coolest show ever, Lost, so I can't really complain :D...

I'm trying to avoid the "Claire is already dead and Christian was just trying to deliver her to heaven" theories. Not only would I feel cheated, but why haven't we seen this before, with Eko, Boone, Libby, AnaL etc.?
Claire has probably been lured off to Jacob's hut. Remember we saw Christian as Jacob in the TBOTE? I think if Locke meets Jacob in the next episode, then we'll find Claire as well.
This defianatley is beginning to explain how Kate gets Aaron.

Guys... I just realised something that made me really depressed. I don't know how long ago it was actually announced, but it was only recently that I found out that the third series of Lost 'action' figures by McFarlane have been cancelled. I was too busy being bummed out by that in general to realise the worst part of it - Claire was going to be in that series. It just hit me now. To be so close and then... ugh, I'm totally disappointed. I really wanted little plastic Claire with little plastic Aaron (plus the crib Locke made was supposely an accessory).
Cheer me up - ep 4.09 airs here in two days.. tell me - we get more than a few seconds of Claire in the next two eps, right? Please... we get a little Littleton, don't we? Say it's so!

I got a little story for all you C.L.A.S.S.Y fans out there and can now explain why I have been away for so long on the boards...
After season 4 ended, I decided to stalk Mr. Damon Lindelof this whole hiatus, and finally after just missing him during several vacations and almost catching him leaving his dentist... 2 days ago in L.A., Wallah! I tracked him down at the local Starbucks and after "accidentally" spilling my Caramel Machiato on him, I apologized profusely and offered to pay for his dry cleaning. He accepted and I took him to the nearest clothing store and bought him a new shirt, and took his coffee-stained shirt to the local dry cleaners where I asked them to clean the shirt as fast as they could and there would be an extra "Ben Franklin" in it for them. They said it would take 20 minutes , so myself and Damon went and had a Bloody Mary (his drink of choice) myself a Screwdriver (It was 9:30 in the morning, but since I was still on east-coast time it was 12:30 PM to me, so I think you can decide who the drunk was in this situation!) Anyways, after our 3rd drink and a delicious order of chili-fries, the 20 minutes was up and Damon's shirt was clean, dried, pressed, and ready to go. Now it was time to make my move. I told him that my doctor said I had a extremely rare medical case and it was crucial for me to find him, this case was so rare I was only the second patient to ever experience the symptoms and my Doctor's advice were to find you Mr. Damon Lindelof and explain how you can help me live. In laments terms the disease is caused by certain individuals getting so attached to a character in a television show that their life depends on the life of that character. The original term for the disease was called "The David Hasselhoff" disease first diagnosed in a 45 year old German woman who was such a die hard Bay Watch fan that under extreme mental and physical testing when ever "Mitch Buchannon" (Hasselhoff's character) would risk his life saving those poor drowning victims in the beaches of California and Hawaii her heart rate and mental capacities would slow down to a rate of almost death each and every time the character Mitch's life was on the line. I then explained how I was now the second case ever recorded and when I was hooked up to the machines during the episode Eggtown when Aaron was revealed to be living with Kate off the island, my heart literally stopped and I was technically dead for over 45 seconds before the shock paddles brought me back to life. I then went on to explain to him that the fate of my life rests in the fate of Claire Littleton's, and for the sake of myself and my family I hope that he could find it in his heart to make sure Claire makes it all the way through to the end of season six, Oh yeah I also told him that more shots of her in bikinis might possibly help destroy my rare and dangerous affliction. We walked to get his shirt and I thanked him for his time and apologized for any inconvenience I caused him by spilling coffee on his shirt and then gave him a huge hug and whispered in his ear "My life is in your hands, please be gentle"... So if Mr. Damon Lindelof has any heart at all, which I feel he does, Claire should be alive and well for the rest of the show... Oh yeah and we might get to see some nice bikini shots

Makes perfect sense to me.. I'm sure he had to rush back to Lost Headquarters and scream out "Stop the presses!, we have a life to save" then the whole team had to rethink the best possible way to not only keep Claire alive throughout the show but also get with wardrobe about all the bikinis her character will be wearing for no apparent reason at all!

...SIGH. I've been in a bit of a bad way recently, and this Claire drought is the icing on the depression cake. We better get a ton of Claire in S6 to make up for this cruel and unusual punishment that S5 is torturing Claire fans with. About a month back I saw the latter half of Carrie (2002 remake) though - it's been a while since I saw the original film version, but man, this was so bad in comparison. However, it was made very watchable by the fact that Emilie was in it - she did a great job (I don't like the casting as a 'bi*ch' character much, but still) and looked outstanding!
Can I ask any of you guys that have seen The Hills Have Eyes, how bad is the rape scene? I feel like I want to watch this movie (admittedly primarily due to Emilie being in it), but I don't think I can take seeing that. I have a feeling it will be very distressing seeing that happen to our Claire and I don't want to remember that whenever I see her on another show/movie.
I live in Australia now and there's a lot of pretty blondes about, with similar accents to our Claire, but they can't compare! They should just quit now, heheh ;)

It's terrible. Really, really disgusting.
It's a good movie overall, but the hands on the blinds does it for me. I often skip the scene.

Thanks very much for clueing me in, Lostaway. I'm assuming it'll be easy to tell when it's coming up, so if I do hire it on DVD I'll be able to fast forward it a way and then resume watching after it's over.
Emilie's imdb page doesn't have many roles on it compared to some other stars. I wonder if it'd be possible to watch every movie she's ever been in? Haha.. is that taking adoration too far into stalkery territory though?

Hah! Honestly, I suspected that might be the kind of answer I'd get there XD
During tonight's episode when Jack investigated the room where the light was on in his house I wondered "...what if it's Claire?! Please let it be Claire", but it was just Kate. Kind of silly thing to think, but I was in the mindset of last time Jack was alone and encountered Phantasm Dad, and when Claire appeared to Kate ("Don't you dare bring him back!"). Blame 'The Little Prince' for making me think Claire would bother visiting Jack.

trust me, I've been thinking that since the first episode. "I hope it's Claire." :p

I agree with you and actually probably only had Kate 5th on my list of people in that room after, Christian Shepard 1st, Hurley 2nd, Claire (fingers were certainly crossed) 3rd, Ben, then Kate... Actually my brain hadn't probably even got to Ben or Kate yet before they showed her if I can remember those 8+ seconds correctly and since I havent watched it over yet, can't remember if Ben had already called Jack to tell him to get Locke but do remember thinking Ben briefly I think , but I cetainly do remember thinking, more of hoping it was Claire! Well another week of Claire Prayer (Hey that rhymes) :)

I love Claire. But i'm a one character fan club kinda guy.
I'm faithful... to Kate.... That's what we call irony.
But :wave2: C.L.A.S.S.Y. I'm really glad you've got your lady back.

I agree Mo. A one woman man is what I want to be.
But I can still look.
I gotta admit, i'm really hoping for a Kate and Claire story arc, where Kate helps deliver Aaron somewhere in the wilds of Los Angeles.

I'm hoping too. If you can concieve a child in the back of a taxi, you can deliver one there.
I really hope that's what happens in the next episode.
Because I know the request is coming (I didn't even look at the screencap request thread yet). Besides, come on people, she was gone all last season. :)
(Yes Ian, these are for you. ;))
