The parachutist claims that Flight 815 was found and all aboard perished.

Does this bring us to the many-worlds interpretation (or MWI) of Quantum Mechanics (a multiverse) ?

A multiverse is the hypothetical set of multiple possible universes (including our universe) that together comprise all of physical reality.

See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiverse_%28science%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiverse_%28science%29)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Many-worlds_interpretation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Many-worlds_interpretation)

Is the parachutist from an alternate quantum world in which the Flight 815 plane and bodies were recovered ? or is she simply lying ? (that is, is she another infiltrating agent from the Others sent to keep tabs on the rebellious not-so-easily-controlled spy, Juliet ? )

Let's suppose that the underlying structure of LOST is MWI (a multiverse).

Let's further suppose that there is an as-yet-undiscovererd (to us) phenomenon of the multiverse wherein each planet has the potential to have a place (call it a quantum moon) such that it is "connected" to the planet, but not exactly in the same physical reality. (Desmond's "bloody snowglobe")

This quantum moon may be shared by the various worlds of the MWI earths.

Let's call us Earth Zero.

On Earth 42, perhaps humans evolved as the dominant species but with four toes. Why aren't there four-toed humans on the island ? They were not able to solve the infertility problem and eventually gave up on it.

Valenzetti , the brilliant theoretician, came up with his equation. What does it do ?

Let's first ask these questions. Can a single atom be destroyed ? Sure. Can a planet be destroyed ? Happens all the time. Can a solar system be destroyed ? (see supernova) Can a universe be destroyed ? Uh...hmmm...intuition would say 'yes'.

Suppose the Valenzetti Equation not only predicts the destruction of the universe, but of the multiverse !

Where do you hide ? Where now is your Noah's Ark ?

Thus, we now have people like Ben saying "We're the good guys." (We're trying to save the human species. Oh, and by the way we will do anything, kill anyone to achieve that goal. Now, if we could only solve that pesky infertility problem...)

Oh, and Smokey is from Earth 23 (not a prime vacation spot...)

Come to think of it, this Quantum Moon theory allows the show producers to say "There are no aliens."

The four-toed humans and Smokey are not aliens. They are indeed earthlings (albeit alternate earths).

Ah, semantics will get ya every time. (Language and logic are sworn enemies.)

ETA: Also, all the Others have to do is go to an alternate Earth where Rachel is cancer-free and shoot some video (or a live feed) to "prove" it to Juliet, regardless of whether Rachel from Earth Zero is OK or not).

I am assuming here that if the Others have the knowledge to be able to travel to the Quanum Moon that they can also travel to the alternate earths.

cool ideas 3 putt, it kind of advocates M-theory I would imagine? the only problem is that is a lot of fairly difficult unified theoretics to introduce to your average viewer. However I do like this theory.
