I've been slowly working on a theory and when I watched D.O.C a light went on. I will not discuss my theory here but what I found as I was in and out of endless mazes of web pages. Coming upon SACRED GEOMETRY; however, I found PHI;

The Golden Ratio - Phi - Spiraling Consciousness
http://www.crystalinks.com/sacred_geometry.htmlWhich I regretfully tell you I have no knowledge of whatsoever. YET...
When I saw Paik on the wall as Sun was walking upstairs. the "P" in Paik ringed true to me and I remembered the PHI symbol. I quickly went to photo shop to create this:
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/2850/paikcs5.gifJust now I found this article....

http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/2388/3x18koreanlogoon5cb6.jpg Fans who had followed the alternate reality game "The Lost Experience" during the break after Season 2 have been looking for connections in the actual episodes of Lost. In D.O.C. there was finally another firm connection. Sun's father's company Paik Automotive was featured in the storyline, but the Korean logos visible in the background translate to "Paik Heavy Industries." The connection? P.H.I. was mentioned numerous times in The Lost Experience, but we never knew for sure that the two Paiks were the same, since it's such a common surname in Korea. Now we have confirmation that Sun's father is the same Mr. Paik that built the Helgus Antonius

The Helgus Antonius is a container/hospital ship, currently being operated by the Hanso Foundation (http://en.lostpedia.com/wiki/Hanso_Foundation). It departed from Sanremo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanremo) in Italy on the night of July 6th 2006 (http://en.lostpedia.com/wiki/Rachel_Blake_Italy_04), apparently for Sri Lanka (http://en.lostpedia.com/wiki/Sri_Lanka).
Currently, the ship has only appeared as a part of The Lost Experience (http://en.lostpedia.com/wiki/The_Lost_Experience). Here is the full website on this topic http://en.lostpedia.com/wiki/Helgus_Antonius

for the Hanso Foundation. Read more at Nickb123's entry at the Lostpedia blog.

Nice, ISIS! Good to see these easter eggs for The Lost Experience users...also firms some of the connections of my Murder Inc theory. :D

However, this should probably be moved (once truff or lab get here) to the TLE theories section. The spinoffs subforum is for fan websites.

Can anyone clean this photo up? I think it looks like Mikhail and Paik. I'll try myself too.

I would try to clean the photo up, but that photo was taken in 2006, and the Losties are in 2004 (and we don't yet know the fate of Mikhail - for all we know, the smoke monster eats him as he's running away from Des and Co. :p).

But Paik's ship, the Helgus Antonus, was a Freighter.
Naomi's team is on a Freighter 80 nautical miles west of the Island.
I wonder if Paik built that ship too?
And on top of that, I wonder who Naomi's "company" is?

A company run by someone else with a lot of money? Who doesn't really believe his daughter and son-in-law are dead?

Ah; yes- the time frames of TLE and LOST continue to mislead me. I need a definate brush up since I was a late bloomer in the game. Maybe I should start at the bottom and work my way up.

I'm pretty sure Paik has supplied the shipWhat else was on the Freighter I wonder.

When Sun enters Mr. Paik's office, she overhears him arguing with an employee. This is the only Korean conversation not translated in the entire episode.

A possible translation suggests that Paik is agitated at the fact that his associates have yet to provide shipping documents/equipment to the Hanso Foundation (or vice versa). Paik seems to warn that the Foundation will become angry if the equipment isn't given soon (or possibly he will become angry) [1].
UPDATE 2 - Seems like I might have got it the wrong way round after all. Here's how "dreamer" interprets the conversation, he actually thinks its Hanso who'll be getting angry:

Lastest Update from Lostpedia http://blog.lostpedia.com/2007/04/more-korean-trivia.html

The first guy says,
We haven't reveived forged shipping documents.
(That's probably why they haven't provided that equipment to Hanso Foundation)

the shouting guy says,
I heard that Hanso Foundation is very upset/mad because WE didn't provide the equipment yet.

They (2 talking guys in the dialogue) are the ones who are responsible for providing the equipment and Hanso Foundation is mad at them because these guys didn't keep the appointment properly.
