Desmond is Jacob

i have a theory that Desmond is actually Jacob.

my sole reason behind this is the fact that the others are always referring to this list that Jacob made and who is worthy of being on it!

i think with the ref to Des and his visions/time travel whatever they may be he was somehow able to travel forward and leave this list and i also believe he may use this to manipulate the others and lead to the rescue.

I was thinking the same thing last night. I am think Jacob is either Desmond with him going back in time to leave a list for Ben and Co.

My other guess is Jacob is Locke. My reason for that is walk are they so interested in Locke for? We don't know why everyone is so excited for Locke to be there with them and to show he is special(i.e. Jacob) Prehaps Ben knows that Locke is special but has become power hungry and doesn't want to give up his position as leader. Could be why he made a public display to show Locke wasn't special.

i have to disagree with you. i dont really have any basis, but then again neither did you.
i think that jacob will end up being a big wig in the others dept, possibly bens twin brother. they are travelling somewhere right now and i think they are headed to see the other others.

Obviously all of our thoughts on LOST are based on what they have shown us. I believe that one important factor is that, so far, he has had two people act as steering devices(the monk and jewelry store lady). Obviously he is more important than we realize, and are often fooled, as we forget that he is not a Lostie from the plane. Is it possible that Libby was also one of these steering devices as she gave him the sailing ship.

At some point, he earned his faith and influenced Jack at the stadium. I wonder if Des also influenced others on the island in a manner in which they have not yet showed us in the program.

Becuase it's fun to speculate. Some people like to just sit back and watch a story unfold. Others enjoy analysing and speculating how things might end. Discussion boards are a great place for that. Throw an idea out there and watch it grow or wilt away.

The OP did explain why he thought this rather than just a throw a name out there.

Perhaps I misunderstand what you mean by "hate".

In the bible Jesus calls for us to "hate" our parents........but we all know that what He means is in comparison to the love we should show our Lord.

What if Locke has a double personality....the one we see now, and the other is Jacob in another dimension or this one, and he doesn't know it. Me, Myself, and Irene. lol
