View Full Version : Time slowly marches on

I posted on another thread that i thought it was possible time was moving slower on the island than in the rest of the world. Some people thought it interesting, so I thought I might do a little research.
The reason for my posting here is this: Have any of the websites (TLE, others) posted a current time or date. Have any of them mentioned a plane going down at a certain time (e.g. flight 815 was downed two years ago or flight 815 was downed 80 days ago)?
This thought came up when "Bad Twin" was published and the bio of Gary Troup mentioned flight 815, but did not give a timeline as to how long ago he vanished. Similarly, both Naomi and Cooper say the plane was found, but neither mention how long ago.
As these websites would be included in the LOST universe (i.e. not fan-based) it might go toward suggesting time moving at different speeds.
I know I could do this research myself, but many of the websites are old or no longer active. (Plus, there's SO MANY. :D)
Thanks.

Well, Hugh McIntyre appeared on Jimmy Kimmel and that was supposed to be the current date, as with Rachel Blake appearing at Comicon, or however it's spelt LOL.
However, when Hugh was on Kimmel, he dismissed Lost as being a television show - which didn't sit well with many peope as it took away from everything a bit. But the back of Bad Twin does say Gary Troup has been missing since September 2004 "when the jetliner that was carrying him from Sydney to Los Angeles crashed somewhere over the South Pacific."
But yeah, TLE was supposed to be going on in real-time. Hope this helps a bit. :)

The only date that McIntyre gave that *might* end up being true is when the funding for the DHARMA Initiative ended. I don't recall off the top of my head what year he said.

Thanks for the responses. So the quote by McIntyre, did it mention anything along the lines of "ten years ago, in '87" or just '87.
This theory might also help explain Desmond's flashes, which only happen for "past" events, like memories. Maybe when he turned the failsafe, he became aware, subconsciously that the year was 2007, and is now "remembering" all the events from 2004.

McIntyre simply said 1987. Dates provided from Rachel Blake's blog and the Verizon message board, however, were all dated 2006. In addition, many characters, including Rachel Blake, McIntyre and DJ Dan, specifically mentioned the show Lost, so it must have been running at the same time in the world of TLE. :)

marches? it does a sort of crazy czardas-conga-hopscotch step.
It's like a trip through the narnia wardrobe.

And this thread was bumped why? :rolleyez:
Well, to keep it relevant, time is certainly marching on with no new TLE goodies other than the fact that all of the sites have been renewed for another year; and that Damon and Carlton said at Comic Con that they hadn't dismissed the possibility of another LOST EXPERIENCE.
 PLEASE - TPTB - If you're going to give us 8 MONTH HIATUSES between the last 3 seasons of LOST, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us SOMETHING to do besides just sit here and wait.

Heaven forbid someone bumps a thread?
And most of us are doing more than just sitting here and waiting. We're having fun with eachother and doing thing in our lives that don't revolve around LOST. I highly recommend it.

I fail to see the relevancy of bumping something that is over and done with.
