The way Jack is first introduced to the audience is soooo very suspenseful !! The fact that he's a doctor, is very cool. Reminds me abit of the "Professor" in the comedy of "Gulligan's Island" -- a great looking guy, who is very knowledgeable. However; we add alot more sexapeal, intensity, and, I am excited to see his charector grow.

I've mentioned before -- but it is gone; he was part of the panel at ComicCon. I enjoyed it ! My friend took pictures and we covered the panel for an on-line magazine. Please read the comic con review -- it talks abit about the showing of part of the pilot and the Q&A session with the actors and writers.

I echo your WOW - he is very easy on the eyes but I have a doubt about something.

I don't think Jack is really a doctor, or if he ever was one, he may have lost his license. I think that is HIS secret. I don't think he told Kate the truth about the surgery where he counted to 5 (that the patient was OK in the end).

He could have been a resident who assisted with the surgery and made a mistake that kept him from getting his license

OR

he could have been a doctor but lost his license because of malpractice due to the accident with the surgery.

I am assuming that every one of the regulars, including Jack, has a secret. The big question in the series for each character, in fact the whole premise of the show, is "What's my secret?" and the island which is like a character itself has the biggest secret.

I think everyone on the island has a hidden secret ....

But it is obvious that Jack has medical knowledge, so there is a background.

Its almost as if it was a plane-ful of misfits, and now, they are forces to form some sort of community of...die.
