For anybody who taped Lost, go back and listen to the voice. IT IS DEFINITELY JOHN TERRY'S VOICE. I have watched him on everything and it's him. Also, John is not dead, and I do believe he will be the one to kill Ben in the end. Now the big question is what the hell has he done. He's Christian Shepard off the island then he's some kind of Enitity on the island. I knew it would be him. Because if it wasn't then why show him so much on the show. Also, remember what he told Claire. He said I know alternative ways to help your mother. But I definitely know that John is not dead.

Why are you going to lock my thread? Maybe Christian Shepard is dead, but that doesn't mean, that he isn't Jacob! Don't be a fool man. It's him. Just listen to the voice. Besides, just because the producers say he is dead, doesn't mean that he really is. Because of right now, we have no idea what the hell he is. I mean has anyone besides me, put 2 and 2 together?

Was Jacob even technically alive? I will go back and listen to that part again. The image of Jacob appears as though it could be any one of Christian, Locke, or Hanso. I still think it looks like Locke with a fake nose and wig, but I can see the Christian reference and I'll listen to that voice again.

The whole Jacob scene seemed like a cheap ghost movie or one of those Halloween haunted houses they set up for the kids every year. Didn't the writers say we'd know who/what Jacob was in this episode? They made it about as clear as mud. Luckily, the rest of the episode was superb.

Ben? He could be... possesed? Its all a trick that made the house go crazy? Maybe thats why when Locke turned his back, only then he heard what Jacob had to say? This is so crazy!
It looks like a John+Ben mix to me now... Bens hair, Johns face and forehead...

Completely different foreheads. The more I look at it the more it looks like Locke to me.
Is it possible they haven't cast him yet and it's just the guy who holds the boom mic or something?

What's so special about Christian? He's just another dead person who appears randomly on the island... and those dead people that appear can only be seen by the one's they're related to ..

I swear I recognized the voice that said 'help me' ... I guess we can say it was Jacob's voice. I always thought that this actor has a very distinctive voice, so, I think I recognized it. Not saying that this is Jacob, but mayb they just got this guy to do that voice since his voice is deep and interesting. Anyway, I think the voice was ...

Dudes, I think we got a matchDifferent forehead (Chirstian has a "bump" towards the bottom of his forehead), and different nose (Christian has a smoother nose with a less pronounced bump in the middle).
I don't think it's Christian. As interesting as it might be to have Christian Shepherd alive, I don't think that was him.

I think this is an extremely likely possibility. Previous examples:
1) End of Season 1 - Jin sees the "others" approaching (The tailies - Eko, Bernard, etc.). They are all different actors to who was cast the following season.
2) The "emperor" in Star Wars appeared in "Empire Strikes Back" - played by a woman! Ian McDiarmid was not cast until "Jedi"
I think they are leaving this open for casting.
I am disappointed - they really seemed to be pointing to a reveal here, and it was not.
well, technically, they did "reveal" the character by showing him. unfortuneatly it wasnt the reveal most people wanted.

Whats weird about the pictures is he looks like he constantly has his eyes closed.

Yep, this happens alllll the time. The First AD or Second AD or whoever is standing around at the moment stands in a lot of the time. On bigger productions they normally will hire a nobody actor to do it but, point is, it could be no one now and they'll hire someone on for the role at a later date.

Yeh I think it was just an extra sitting in the seat, maybe they needed someone there for some of the special effects, and we were never meant to see this guy sitting in the chair. That would be a very big oversight though.

It looks a little like Locke in a beard and wig, but I think TPTB want us hashing this out for a while otherwise they would have shown a longer clip.

It's just another man with a high forehead and his nose is not Locke's.
New characters are introduced on LOST all the time, why shouldn't Jacob be new?
I agree however that the producers want us to think things.

That guy was clearly Jack. This is impossible it could be Vincent for all we can see. Although we may know why Vincent is running around barking all the time. He is playing with Jacob's dog from the picture!
Maybe I'm being a little legalistic here but:
Christian's name is Christian;
Kelvin's name is Kelvin;
etc.
Therefore, I figure they call this 'person' Jacob because...

I don't care what anyone says, Jacob is Locke in the future. Don't ask me how I know or why I came up with this insane idea, but nothing on this show makes sense anymore anyway! I'm just glad John is alive now! I sobbed when Ben shot John. Don't care if you call me nuts, I'm just a very involved fan and I love my LOST!

Well Josh Holloway is from the south and so is John Terry I do believe. They have southern accents. Oh and on another level. Who is Christian Shepard? He's Jesus Christ. We all know what happened to Jesus, don't we? He died and was resurected. So just because you die, doesn't mean you can't come back to life. I think that is a really big part of Lost. Resurecting the dead.

What if the dark empty room represents the darkest place within ourselves. So the experience is different for everyone who needs redemption. When Ben's father was carrying his mother and him to stop the red car on the highway, he said "help" and then "help me". Those were the last words before she died and were the ones that caused his father to hate ben. Triggering Ben's downfall. Locke was special and able to hear the 'root' of the anger which Ben was not 'enlightened' enough to hear. Kinda like the magic box which contains a challenge they must overcome. Perhaps since Locke was not the actual one who killed his father, it was not'his' darkness in there.

I'm with you on that one. I want it to be Christian! See my thing is. What is the point of Christian Shepard if he's not part of this. What I mean is, John Terry has been the #1 guest star on this show. He has been in every one of Jack's flashbacks, except for one, and he was talked about even then. Then we find out that he's also Claire's father, and he was in Sawyer's and Ana Lucia's flashback too! He's Aaron's grandfather. He also knows alternative ways in helping dying or dead people. That's why I think he could be Jacob. Christian is a healer and a great leader. I mean he told Jack, I'm a leader and you will never be that. Now I can't explain about him being on the island unless, he faked his death, and I truly believe this, and he's this ancient thing. But I still say he has alot to do with this show. If not, then the whole storyline with him is stupid.
I don't think it's Christian because Jacob has been on the island longer than the losties, and the reason Jack is there is because Christian died in Australia and Jack was bringing his body home. Unless, of course, you believe Christian was a surgeon for all of those years while leading a double life as Jacob on the island.

I would say it is definitely not Christian. I thought for a while last season and early this season that Christian would be "him" but it seems like that is not going to happen. Its probably for the best, that would be have been a weird twist. Hopefully this Jacob fellow will be an interesting new character, rather than a weird connection we already know

The role of Jacob has not yet been cast, despite seeing him in the chair. This is similar to what they did with Penny. The original photo of Desmond and Penny featured a different woman because the part had not yet been cast. The person who is cast may look very different from the stand-in.
