Has anyone seen this new site that popped up yesturday?? Apparently if you keep resreshing the word TIME comes up and /the colors of the posts change....more stuff changing as time goes by. I dont know if its a real website because im not good at that computer stuff. Anyone know what im talking about?

I opened a new thread for this new Oceanic site because the other one was kind of threadjacked with some heated topics.

Still not working. I did a Whois? on Register.com and it said "domain name not found", but it still verified that the domain is registered. It just doesn't say who by.

Was anybody savvy enough to get screencaps of the site? Or perhaps know how to check your cached web pages to give us a clue as to what was up there?

NO.... it is 100% www.oceanicairlines.com no space no dash no nothing....... It was there all day long. It shut down at 6pm today . It actually came up yesturday..... Its a postcard looking thing of an ocean and a dock.On the top it said like "Its right beneath your eyes"or somthing like that and there was the oceanic logo next to it. Under the picture it had the words "When Its Time" and it had 6 pillars with 2 red 2 yellow and 2 green lights..... then it disappeared. Its gotta be a b/s site...... abc's forum started watching it and it was like this big crazy thing all day and then it shut down... I dont care....this is driving me nutty!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH

I don't doubt you. 'Specially since you have a pic to back up your comments. I just did a cut 'n paste of your site mention and got an error message.

This makes you think. Isn't/wasn't it most likely a BS site as you mentioned? The sites I linked to are still working and we all agree they are ABC created. Why would ABC create a site only to take it down shortly thereafter? The "seating chart" site has been around since at least a little before the airing of Exodus and it's still up and working.

I, for one, would really like to have seen the site you're referring to. Too bad it's most likely crashed. Too bad it was most likely created by someone who has no concept of bandwidth. JMHO! :)

Looking at the departure time for flight #815, it says that it was 40 minutes late taking off. Are there any theories as to why this is?

How fun is that? I'm sure I'm the last one to play with this feature, but in the off chance someone hasn't: on the Oceanic website on the main page, if you click on the "numbes" regarding child, adult, etc. seating, it'll take you to the seat assignments page. From there various sections will move or become highlighted, and it's a "follow the white rabbit" kind of game, as each time you click, you're treated to little pieces of info or mementos of those cast members. Sometimes though, you have to randomly click unhighlighted seats to get something else to pop up. LOL I love this show!

I'm reading through the old TWOP Lost Online board, because this sounded too familiar. Sure enough, the heading "Possibility" went on the webpage on June 8th (http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=3127338&st=165)...there were also I believe 6 posts changing colors at one point on an image on this site a couple of days later. Still looking for posts to link to this.

ETA: The page slowly added things until the next day, June 9th. This screencap (http://www.altergeek.org/possibility/Possibility.html)was taken then right before the website went down. As you can see, there were at one point six lights on the docks there.

The website USED to have a citation of a web company called "northern star studios." Its page www.northernstarstudios.com (http://www.northernstarstudios.com) used to have a page touting itself as the "largest web design company in the Northeast," which, well, is a lie. No one had heard of the company. Sure enough, soon after the site went down June 9th, northernstarstudios.com went down soon afterward.

As far as we can tell, 5 dots was skipped. Before that it was just all the dots in one row.

The domain was registered early.... Nov. 29, 2004. That makes it older than OceanicFlight815 (April 2005), oceanic-air.com (April 2005). amd thehansofoundation.org (July 2005). This gives the site some legitimacy...
HOWEVER it was registered by NameCheap.com. Just reading that name should sound warning bells in your head.

So, we look up the host at IP address 64.128.80.5 (networkredux.com) and see that they specialize in discount web hosting. $5.95 per month, or $20 per month of unlimited domains? That is *not* a host for business sites. There's no way it's legit.

So there you have it. :)

1. Its a fan site - not affiliated with the official game.
2. This site has done nothing since the Error message above appeared last week.
