I have a big problem with the finale over only one issue, other than that it was simply fantastic!

The issue I have is if this was a flashforward, how in the world is Oceanic still operating?
Their website states very clearly that they were forced to close operations after the loss of 815. How the hell are they giving golden tickets if they went out of business. Too confusing for me.

Good point.

All I can say is crossing of dimensions.

Maybe the writers had ideas that changed after the Oceanic site was made. Or maybe the company gets going again once the survivors are found. A lot can happen in the years that have yet to be explained.

1) Keep discussion of Spin-off and Webmaze in Spin-off. It is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL that any Spin-off or Webmaze discussion is kept in Spin-off. Please do not make reference to any Spin-off topics or sites or any information garnished from them when posting in other forums or areas of LOST-TV. Many, many normal viewers have no desire to participate and have no wish to see info from Spin-off spill over into Discussions elsewhere on the Forum. Please respect their wishes and keep discussions to the Spin-off Forum. Thanks.:bump:

OK, so I think that maybe the flash forward wasn't all the way forward. Maybe the got their golden tickets from the crash - but not the crash we know. Maybe Jake being so adamant to Lock and Ben about getting everyone off because he is trying to right whatever wrong we think we are seeing in his flash forward.

In short, could this be his second time on the island?!?!?

I agree, this is confusing and means we could be watching someone's dream or vision, and not a real moment in present time...maybe even the past.

An airline closing operations because of a plane crash would be extremely far-fetched. Most airlines have had multiple crashes and all the investigations, law suits and negative publicity that accompany them and are still operating. I don't see why Oceanic would be ruined by one crash.

ok ... first of all, when did the actual show ever say that Oceanic closed it's doors?

my point? if it didn't happen IN or ON the show itself, it's not part of the show ... meaning, whatever this 'fake website' is for Oceanic means NOTHING ...

#1 It's not a "fake" website in the fact that it was the 1st LOST related website in TLE if I remember correctly.

#2 Hasn't it been said that TLE is canon, just not a vital part of LOST. More of a background to info they don't put on the show.

I know the website is REAL ... what I meant is that there is no Oceanic Airlines in real life ... therefore, it's impossible for the company to go out of business because it doesn't exist except in the show.

TPTB cannot count on every viewer reading all the background info on the web, or listening to the podcasts and interviews ... therefore the ONLY information that we can count as relevant to the story is the info revealed ON THE SHOW ...

and since they never discuss the 'fate' of Oceanic Airlines in the show proper, we can't assume ANYTHING ...

Ok, look folks. This is a heavily TLE-centric discussion, so I'm going to move this thread over to that forum. Please take a few minutes and read the forum guidelines concerning webmaze and spoiler material.
