Have any of you in the re-watch ever actually read Bad Twin? I went into the thrift store to get a new supply of summer books and I seen it there, it was a buck, so I went ahead and bought it. Well I read it yesterday and I know it had a lot of bad reviews I on the other hand found it not great, but it wasn’t that bad of a read.
Wasn’t Gary Troup the guy who went into the engine in the pilot?
Is there anyone interested in a new discussion about it and all the references to Lost? I wonder if this book is considered somewhat nonfiction… not in our world but Lost world. would Gary Troup put all these names in his book if he wasn’t privy to some information?
Does anyone recall what episode it was first revealed about the manuscript?

The book was dedicated to Cindy Chandler a flight attendant for oceanic who Gary Troup had became smitten with during his flights to Sydney.
The plot…
Paul Artisan was a private detective who worked small cases such as insurance fraud and adultery. He was approached by a man name Cliff Widmore to find his missing twin Alexander (he goes by Zanders) who he believes is in danger and always seems to be on the other side of trouble and the law. When going to meet cliff he accidentally gets off on the 42nd floor only to find he’s not at Widmores but the Hanso foundation where the CEO is good ole Mittlewerk. It mentions how Widmore was in negotiations with Piak industries for some kind of joint venture. Cliffs wife Shannon had committed suicide 3 months before but foul play is suspected.
After Paul finds one of Zanders friends (goes by the name of Moth real name Keith Baker) and gets some information from him he is killed when a boat falls on him (he was on the phone with Paul at the time) foul play was suspected.
Paul then goes to Key West to find Zanders on and off again girlfriend where she tells Paul he was going to Havana.
Chartering a boat to Havana Paul finds the guy Zander was supposed to meet with but doesn’t get any information when Paul gets back to New York he gets word the boat he charted blew up and the captain (goes by the name of Crunch real name is James Hennessey) was dead.
Paul starts to think that Zander actually killed cliff and took over his brothers identity, but soon was discovered that was not the case
He then goes to California to a little town called Luna which seems to have many special properties and is an ideal place for different foundations. When he arrives at LAX he rents a car and goes in the drive through of MR. Clucks chicken shack… he says it was really greasy.
Once he finds another one of Zanders friends he learns Zander left the day before to Australia. Paul leaves for Sydney and gets friendly with his seatmate (her name was Pru- Prudence) they end up going out when they land and end up sleeping together. That next morning Paul finds a gun of hers and come to find out she was hired by Cliff Widmore to tail Paul. She resigns and starts to help Paul. He was almost killed when a van tried to hit him as he was walking down the sidewalk. After some investigating they determine Zander was somewhere by the coal reefs. After some more investigating they find Zander and while out on a boat another boat pulled up and started shooting at them they got away and they convinced Zander to go home to reunite with his ailing father. Paul starts thinking that it is cliff that is really trying to kill Zander so when their father dies he gets all the inheritance.
While on the flight back to New York they here there has been another death, Cliff was murdered when he came home and found an intruder in his house. Zander is reunited with his father and the stepmother ends up being the suspect but it isn’t her and Zander turns out to be the good guy trying to find a way to give all the money away and rid them of the curse it has brought.
Now to find out who was the killer you have to read the book lol….
