Ok, this thread is about remarks about how boring or whatnot about Claire this season. I must agree, we didn't get to see the Claire we are a custom to from Season 1 & 2. If you look back on season 1, Claire wore some pretty alternate clothing items, not the best, but better then season 3 wardrobe I suppose. Claire was basically the heart of the survivors, very sweet and nice.. (Mostly) And then in season 2 after she had her baby she made a change to a bit more responsible modern hippy approach, but it was still are soulful, loving, Claire. Now look at the second part of season 3. She is wearing stylish, designer jeans and stripe shirts with weird shoes. I for one love that type of stuff, but not on Claire! Even her accent is starting to ware off, look at Charlie's flashback with Claire in greatest hits with the blankets, you can clearly her it fading. I truly hope that Claire starts back up in season 4 to be the Claire we all loved, not the new one. But, I must say although she may be different, she rocked in Par Avion. :D

Who cares about the clothes that Claire is wearing? That really has zero to do with the plot of Lost. If you have a complaint about Claire, which would be completely warranted, I would think that it would have something to do with the fact that her character is basically useless to the overall story of Lost and that there is no reason to keep her on the show as a major character. For a long time, I thought that she would have become more important to the show because Aaron was special or something along those lines, but she hasn't. She is one of those characters that is quickly becoming disposable. In fact, if it weren't for the depressing story of leaving a newborn orphaned, I wouldn't have been surprised to see Claire killed off already.
As has been mentioned before, I think that Claire will be 'saved' and taken off of the island by Naomi's crew, thus relieving the writers of the burden of coming up with new stories for her.
As far as her accent fading, what are you talking about? She isn't an American putting on a fake accent, she is actually Australian. Her accent isn't fading at all. And, even if it was, I still really don't understand the point that you were trying to make.

Well I don't think what he understood what I was saying. Yes Claire is important, but she never got time to truly show it because it is always the Jack show, and not lost. I meant that she changes every season, and yes he is entitled to his own opinion, but he could be nicer about it.

During season 1, I gave Claire the benefit of the doubt because she was pregnant. But as the story progressed, her character became more and more useless. She contributed nothing to the overall welfare of the Losties. Once Aaron was born, she became a background figure IMHO. It's a shame, too, because I think she's a fine actress. Unfortunately, TPTB are not tapping into her abilities. I hope in season 4 Claire's role becomes more prevelant. Now this is simply my opinion, so don't beat up on me, please.

I must admit I don't like Claire that much myself, but I am willing to defend her. From what we saw from season 1 she had all the room to become a lot more then she is now, but that is the writers fault for showing so much Jack. I heard that we are getting back to all the special people, Claire was one. I think she'll change for the better now that it seems were coming to a season about the island's history, :).

Once we found out that Jack and Claire are brother and sister, I was hoping that the storyline would go further in that direction, but TPTB did not elaborate on that, at least not for the time being. I agree that Jack gets too much "face time" on the show. There are many other characters who suffer because of this, such as Claire, Sayid, Rose, etc. It's not that I don't like Claire (I do like her), but the way TPTB are portraying her leaves me a little flat. I hope in the upcoming season that this changes and we see a much more developed character in Claire!

Goth Claire was awesome in S3. I think there's quite a bit more to unveil with Claire, like the Jack/Claire/Christian storyline, and look out for another love triangle brewing, this time between Claire, Desmond, and Penny! (Or maybe Claire, Penny, and Desmond) Lol!

The Claire we saw in the first few episodes was a bright, sunny, new-age hippie who added something to the unique Lost mix.
Much of that has been Lost, she's become an "attachment" to other characters and is slowly losing her personality and strength as a character or human being.
She attached to Aaron mainly, her only purpose there is to hold the kid and provide milk.
She's been attached to Charlie, as the focus of his desire and storyline.
Now she's attached to Jack, as his sister she'll probably be used only to push his dramatic storyline.
In a way she's utterly lost as person with her own needs, desires, and place in life; they've reduced her to a prop to propel other characters plotlines.

OMG Claire has a huge following. Anyone that doesn't know that should watch the show more closely. Aaron will play a major role in this series. Claire's clothes did catch my attention ever since she was abducted by the others. It seems to be a reflection of her personality and part of what Ben and the Others want. They have put something in Claire to become more mother-earth type. She is slowly embracing the Other's beliefs.
Jacob hates technology.
You all everybody. Nice catch on the clothes..this will turn into a major item as the series unfolds.

I'm sure when Jack and Claire find out there siblings, Claire will have more of a major role. Hopefully. Because I like Claire. She's not my favorite but I think she adds to the show. The season 3 finale was awesome and had a season 1 feeling to it. I felt everyone were themselves again.

I have noticed a bit of a change in Claire in S3. The major thing I noticed was her new hairdo. A very NOW hairdo I might add. I wonder if she has a secret subscription to Cosmo being sent to the island (of course wrapped in the standard black and white Dharma packaging) because she seems to be pretty hip to new trends..
ANYWAY, on to another point in this discussion, I think that Claire's significance to the show is starting to build up, and being that the show has a few more seasons to go, her character has plenty of time to do it. I think that Aaron is important, of course. And yes, the two of them are starting to coincide with Jack's story a well, being that he is not only Claire's half brother, but also Aaron's uncle. (I cannot wait until they find out about that. Heehee)
It does seem, though, in S3, she has become almost a background character as well as many other Losties have. I saw an interview recently with Dom and he was talking about how he didn't want to be there as a background character anymore so he was glad that he got a big finale. I bet a lot of them feel that way. Jin and Sun seem to have dwindled as well as Hurley and Sayid. It is unfortunate, but just as I have hope for Claire, I hope TPTB build the stories up so that they are ALL important by the end.

One could see her portrayed change of styles (Goth -> Hippie -> Striped and designer jeans) as a relfection of her not yet knowing who she is, not having found her niche as a personality, in life, on the island, and in the show.

Should have been done a while ago. No excuse. ;)
Boy, the OP on this thread was a real blow-hard, eh?
Their profile says they were active for all of 9 days. I guess they got bored because nobody would participate in the flame war that were baiting for.
