To keep all the pick ems talk away from the NFL thread, I started a new thread in which we can keep all the trash talk in here. Many of you played last season. Mysterious Mike won it all last season. I think I came in 5th but it's a whole new year.

If you did not play last season, it's very easy to play. This is not fantasy ball. It takes less than 5 minutes a week to pick what you think will be the winning teams for that week. You have until 5 minutes before the first game of the week to make all your picks. Which means that week 1, you have to select all your picks before the Thursday night season opener. Once the first game of the week starts, you can not make any picks or make changes for that week.

I'm sure the final standings are somewhere in the NFL thread but I think you came in third. maybe second? or maybe fourth?

Are you actually following through with your promise that you are no longer a Cowboys fan? I can't make as much fun of a Saints fan. Or can I?

Congrats to MM for winning our first annual Lost-TV Football Pool. He made some great picks at the beginning of the season. It took me awhile to come to grips with the picking method I was going to use throughout the season (damn LIW). But once I got the feel, I was right there. Also, congrats to my 2nd place compatriot JD. Spidey, lets make sure and do this next season. I had a lot of fun.

The numbers aren't available anymore.

I am so ready for some football.

While I think the Vick thing will hurt the Falcons alot Harrington wasn't as bad as the Lions made him look. Granted he wasn't great in Miami last year but he is serviceable with a good running game which Atlanta has.

I think Baltimore has great potential again this year. McGehee adds speed and big play ability where Jamal Lewis is a bulldozer who's best years maybe behind him.

Speaking of the Falcons. Warrick Dunn had back surgery yesterday. According to rumors, he'll probably miss the beginning of the season. So, Harrington is going to have to carry the team. We'll see now whether he was the reason the Lions were so awful during the beginning of this decade.

I remember last season Spidey and I had a little interplayer rivalry when the Texans played "America's Team". Hmmmmm, I can't seem to remember who won? So, stuff like that will probably continue.

Do we all realize the season starts next Thursday? Which means, we all have to have our picks done by then. I still think the Commish should look into changing this aspect of the game next season. Even if we have to devise a whole new format.

And, I haven't kept up with preseason, so I have no idea how the individual teams look. And I so want to get out to a big lead this year so I can cruise through the rest. :nanabobo:

The system won't let me exclude Thursdays games. I can change it to 5 minutes before each game if that's what most of you want.

The Cowboys lost to the Texans and both of their starters played for three quarters. It's only preseason, but the Texans had the highest scoring offense of the preseason. Only team to have over 100 points for the preseason.

Week 1 is so hard to pick.

There were many games I was on the fence about.

I was trying to convince myself Houston could beat KC but LJ will be their undoing IMO.

I ended up taking Seattle over Tampa but I really think this could go either way. I expect Tampa to be extremely more efficient team on offense with Jeff Garcia at QB.

09-21-07, 01:36 AM
I went against most experts and picked Atlanta and Houston to win. I'm a Falcons fan for one and I think the Texans can pull it off, especially at home. We'll see I guess. I think the only other game that was a toss-up for me again involved Green Bay but since they're at home against the Chargers and they proved me so wrong last week I'm going with them. For me, that game was a toss of the coin and in those instances I usually give the extra credit to the home team. Good luck everyone.

Mysterious Mike
09-21-07, 05:35 PM
MM, give me your sage advice?

This is a tough one. Normally I would pick Philly but they have been so ineffective offensively and also have a starting CB out I am taking the Lions.

The Lions can be a hard team to match up with at WR and missing a starting CB is only going to help them match up wise.

With no Andre Johnson I don't think Houston has much of a shot , sorry Spidey.

This is one hard week to pick. I am still undecided on the Green Bay vs San Diego game.

Brian
09-23-07, 09:19 PM
The Texans kept it close and I was really hoping for them to pull it out. They're the only game I missed of all the early games today. Green Bay had me worried there until about the very end of the game. Now I just hope the Falcons can pull a win against Carolina. Looking good so far but there's a lot of game left to go.

Hodgepodge
09-24-07, 06:00 PM

Dolphins vs Raiders +3 1/2
Texans vs Falcons + 3
Ravens vs Browns +4 1/2
Bears vs Lions +3
Packers vs Vikings +2
Cowboys vs Rams +11
Jets vs Bills +3 1/2
Panthers vs Bucs OFF
Seahawks vs 49ers +1 1/2
Steelers vs Cardinals +5 1/2
Chargers vs Chiefs +12
Colts vs Broncos +9 1/2
Eagles vs Giants +3
Patriots vs Bengals +7

Spidey, the Texans will have to prove they can get back on that horse. It shouldn't be a problem against their competition, but the Falcons are going to win at least one game this season. I'm hoping it won't be against the Texans. :nanabobo:

That Bears/Lions game is interesting. The Bears are hurt at every position, but the Lions were completely humiliated by the Eagles. Not sure who shows up Sunday!

And why can't I pick the Seagulls? It probably has something to do with last years playoff game against the 'Boys. I've got to go with the 49ers against the scavengers.

Anyone other than me have a problem with the spread in that Chargers/Chiefs game? I'm not sure San Diego is 12-points better than Kansas City.

The Vikings have Adrian Peterson and thats it on offense , I just don't see that being enough to beat the upstart Packers defense. They need it to be a 14 - 10 game and the Packers have been pretty good on offense and I don't think Minnesota will be able to stop them.

I certainly would prefer picking against point spreads.

I have not done straight pick 'ems in years, and now I remember why.

Home dogs are always a good pick using the points, and I did quite well yesterday with that...but wow on the straight game picks. The only thing I did well was picking the Falcons. I knew they had to win sometime this year, so this week was as good as any to go with them.

Hey I give the Texans their props... they are now in the mix with all the rest of the mediocres. Plus...several of the mediocres will rise to the top of the mediocre pile and make the playoffs. The Texans may very well be one of those teams, and the Falcons should be so lucky! The Texans are a better team than Atlanta this year, but I knew the 'Cons would win at least a couple of games and any wins we get this year will probably be against a better team.

shoop_puveler
10-01-07, 07:25 PM
I don't know how y'all do it. I couldn't pick a spread to save my life. W/L is my best bet, and I didn't do well with that this week at all; picked all the wrong upsets. Oh, well. Still 12 more games...and then the playoffs! Damn, I love football. :)

Yeah, you definitely know what you're doing. It just seems that even if I pick all winners, if the spread is off I stand to lose games I picked the winner in. I'm not a gambler, so it's all for bragging rights in my little world...not that I have a lot so far. :)

Well the key to point spreads in my opinion is understanding the meaning of a point spread. It has nothing to do with someone thinking that team A will actually beat team B by 6 points. Point spreads are calculated to get an equal amount of money bet on either team in order to lessen the bookies exposure to a big payout. If the money is equal on both teams, then the bookie pays the winners with the losers bets, and makes his living off the juice. (Usually a 10% fee/commission or thereabouts). The bookies then don't have to care who wins, and their financial situation isn't affected negatively by the outcome.

If Indy is favored by 6 points over Baltimore, then that 6 point total is what was needed to get an equal amount of money bet on both teams. Once you know that, you have a heads up on who to pick. For example.. small market teams usually have less money bet on them than large market teams, so usually a favored team from New York will have a few needless extra points tagged onto the spread when playing Arizona. A team coming off a huge win playing a team coming off a bad loss will usually be favored by a few too many points as well. If you see a point spread move from what it was at the beginning of the week, the reason is the money is coming in heavy on one particular side, and they needed to bump it up or down to get the money back even. You then have to make a note that a lot of big money is coming down on one particular team, and remember the big money betters who can affect an opening spread usually know what they are doing, and bet accordingly.

The bottom line to it all is just understanding the factors that make a point spread be set at what it is, and it's not that team A is predicted to be 6 points better than team B this week. It's so many people are betting on team A that you have to give team B 6 points to get the money being bet evenly distributed on both teams.

IwannaBlost

I just wanna pickem...points make it even more complex. Football to me is win or lose. I would try it, but I doubt I will do as well in the pickem if the spread was involved.

Point spreads mean nothing unless there is money on the table.

In the end all that matters is who wins and loses.

I feel cheap if I pick a team that loses by 6, yet win because they got an "imaginary" 7 points.

Just my thought...

The competition of picking the games is still intact.

The problem with straight pickems is that every week there are going to be
probably at least half the games where almost every single person picks the exact same team.

If New England was playing the Dolphins at home this week... every single person except maybe for one Miami homer would pick New England. Make New England a 13 point favorite, and then you everyone will have an interesting decision to make. Yeah yeah... there are always heavy favorites who get upset by a big underdog every so often, but for the most part heavy favorites win a majority of the time and as I noted above... almost everyone would choose NE in that scenario.

It would be interesting to see....

How many of us pick NE straight up.. I would venture a guess almost everyone will, so that pick will be basically irrelevant in our competition.

vs.

How people would pick this game with the Brownies getting 16 points, which I dare venture to say would make that game a bit more relevant.

Well I agree.. You wont make a living giving 16 points in the NFL, but I might do it here anyway. You also wont make a living taking road favorites in a MNF game either, but I did last week. (Home dogs on MNF historically cover the spread at around a 79% clip, also winning outright at about a 55% clip... but last week involved the Pats... so I gave the points anyway)

Dude, best explanation of point spreads I've ever seen. I actually think I get it a little now. :)

I was embarrassed with my picks last week and so far this season. I simply have been unable to get a point in any Philly or St. Louis games at all this year. I really thought St. Louis would be a much much better team and Philly has been hard to get a read on , they have one of the most dominating offensive first halfs I have seen in years against the Lions and then can't do anything at all against the Giants who aren't exactly the greatest defensive team either.

I knew the Lions had an explosive offense but not even I expected an NFL record 34 points in the fourth quarter. That being said their offensive pass protection is God Awful and Kitna won't last the year if things don't change. They already replaced False Start Machine George Foster at RT with John Scott who started some last year. Foster is a decent player he simply has too many penalties called on him every game. Kitna is great when he has any sort of time but far too often he is hammered or has to throw it away. Mixing in the run once more than every 8 plays couldn't hurt either.

For the record I prefer it without the point spread.

Not to drag this topic on and on, yet I wold like to point to the USC Stanford game this past Saturday as to why I don't like the point spread.

USC was favored by 41 points! Yes, 41. Do you know how many people picked Stanford just because they felt that they wouldn't lose that bad?
A ton. (Just ask any bookie who looked stressed out on Sunday)

Yet now ask how many people would pick them heads up. I bet you would get very few to step forward.....yet a very happy few. It makes that victory so much more meaningful.

That's true, but you're talking about one person making what was probably a silly choice even though it came through for them. Maybe it was even a brilliant choice... but still.. What I am talking about is making every game pick a real competition amongst everyone. I don't however really give a darn though... keep them straight pick-ems.. I'm not running the show.

Maybe he learned it all on Wikipedia. ;)

I can not control what people think, but I rarely utilize the services of Wikipedia. I happen to be close friends with a rather large bookie, but if you
like to think I paraphrase Wiki... that's your choice.

I don't think you are getting it... There were no stressed out bookies. The point spread gets the money even on both sides so the bookies pay the winners with the losers money. No legit bookie is EVER stressed out about the result of a game. The spread exists so that they don't have to be stressed.

Yeah, after last week, I'm throwing caution to the wind. I apparently have no nose for upsets. Coin flip, ftw.

Saints could use an upset! It could happen, but I know how Holmgren likes to win @ home - he was the same way in Green Bay. I'm banking on the Texans and Falcons to play tough against good-but-sloppy teams (Jax and Gaints).

Cincy will be too much for KC to handle for 4 quarters.
Miami has no chance against a bruising Browns team with a new identity.
Chicago is not that good and Minnesota is not that bad. Nail-biter. Purple upset.
Philly and the Jets. Coin flip.
Titans and the Bucs. Coin flip.
Skins and the Pack. Coin flip.
Panthers and the Cards. Coin flip.
The Rams are due, but they are too beat up to even overcome the mediocrity of the Ravens.
Same with Oakland. They always play tough D, but they are banged up and won't be enough to compete with the flip-flop Chargers @ home.
Duel in the Desert = A Draw!

And for the sake of being a goof - I'll pick Indy and Pitt to have the most productive bye weeks. :nanabobo:

Hmm, that depends. How's Schaub doing? I haven't had a chance to catch up on him today. Last I heard, he had left the game after helmet-to-helmet contact.

"All the tests were negative, all the x-rays were fine," said Texans' head coach Gary Kubiak. "He's really, he's just beat up. He's got an extremely beat up hip, a lower leg, he's got the thigh that he's been nursing for a couple of weeks. So he's just generally beat up but we think he's going to be okay. We will say that he's day-to-day right now and hopefully he's out there Wednesday and can do something, but he's just very beat up right now."

Sage Rosenfels replaced Schaub against the Titans and completed 22-of-35 passes for 290 and four touchdowns with four turnovers (three interceptions and a fumble). Schaub completed 5-of-9 passes for 23 yards.

Sage Rosenfels already has the same amount of TD passes as Matt Schaub for the season and Sage has played less than four quarters. So you can imagine what the local sports talk radio sounds like. Sage is a good backup but his four turnovers cost them the game. Many fans and many in the local media wanted him to be the starter last year over David Carr.

Ha-ha. He was actually knocked out twice from the game. The first was the hip injury early in the first quarter. He was taken to the locker room. Sage come in and throws an interception on his first play. Schaub comes back in the middle of the second quarter. He is shortly hit with the helmet to helmet hit. He is taken out of the game for good. Sage comes in again and fumbles the ball on his first play.

I'll never pick Houston again, period. Hopefully, that'll help 'em win...they aren't doing much to take care of that themselves. :nanabobo:

Good Monday Night game coming up! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Packers. I don't really understand why the "experts" are all on the Denver bandwagon; they're 3-3 with each win being 3 points or less and each loss being of significantly more while the Packers are sitting at 5-1, coming off a bye week. Strength of schedule is arguably even.

GB @ 19-19 and DEN @ 21-15 (which includes the 6-0 Colts). Not to mention their only common opponent (San Diego, 3-3) had a field day at Mile High in a 41-3 rout, but struggled against a stingy Packer D in Lambeau to lose by a TD.

Denver has the worst defense against the run, but Green Bay doesn't have a running game, so that point is pretty mute.

Denver's passing may have more opportunities than usual with the Packers nursing 4 injured CB's (although Al Harris and Charles Woodson will start). Of course, Champ and Bly are hurting too.

Favre got the job done last time against a tough Redskins pass defense despite 2 INTs (and they should have had a few more, I M O), but failure to capitalize on 2 FGs and the rain/mist making the ball a little heavier/slower on those long passes (for both sides actually) made the game a lot closer on the scoreboard. Against Denver, the Packers have a good chance of locking up their first 100 yard rushing game to keep 'em honest, but if they want to utilize 3-4 receiver sets I think they'll be able to nickel and dime the Broncos into respecting a couple of big plays.

Funny thing is, the media is making such a big deal about Green Bay not having a rushing game. Granted, but even in last place with a 65 ypg average, they have enough of a game to keep defenses honest with decent play calling. What is not being covered is that only Donald Driver has a 100+ yard receiving game for the Packers this year. One. I say, "If 'Receiver by Committee' works, then so can 'Running Back by Committee'".

Packers by 7. :D

My problem is I always think the Packers are for real. That Dallas game and 4 more in the upstart NFC North are going to be tough. GREEN BAY MUST PREVAIL. There is no one else that even has a chance against the Patriots but Favre.

Ditto, y'all. My picks SUCKED this week..., but I really don't care. My Green Bay Packers put a smack-down on the Vi-Queens and Adrian Peterson. 34-0! Carolina on deck? LOL. Smoke 'em and prepare for two tough road games. Short week prep for Thanksgiving @ Detroit, and then down to the REAL cheaters, in Dallas. I recommend they take out some refs like the KC game. Bastards! The Pack is undefeated on the road though. And McCarthy has the best Packers record EVER for the first 25 games. EVER! Impressive. :)

Read your schedule again, Hodge. Seahawks were the home team. Best play of the game: After a Seahawks touchdown in the 3rd quarter Josh Brown kicked off to Devin (Nobody ever made it to Canton as a kick returner) Hester who caught the ball two yards deep. Now usually when the kicker makes the tackle it somewhere in the kicking team's end of the field, we all know that. But on this one Brown knifed in and dropped Hester on his own 27 and then sprang up into the "Degeneration X". Seahawks 30, Da Bores 23.

My pix gave me 7-7-2 this week.

Only one thing matters though; Favre gets 3 TDs, no INTs and another win! WooHoo! 9-1 for Green Bay!?!?!?! Gotta whoop those Lions now. I think Aaron Rouse starting for Nick Collins at Safety should help with the size of Detroit's WRs...although he is a Rookie. Regardless, I think the Packers offense can win a 'Point War' if the D struggles. Dallas/GB is going to be the Freakin' GAME of the NFC season! And I bet it even has a Part II the way both teams are playing.

I have went in there and changed the deadline. The new deadline is five minutes before each game instead of five minutes before the first game of the week. That means you can still edit Sunday's picks after Thursday. So also if you forget to pick before Thursday's games, you can still play and pick the Sunday and Monday games but automatically lose the Thursday games.

Hey don't blame the Texans. You didn't pick them this week. I haven't picked the Texans since they played the Raiders. I know they're bad. They are doing a lot right except turning over the ball. Warthawg1
12-04-07, 03:26 PM
Meh.. I would never quit, but when you are doing straight pick-ems, your opportunity to make up ground is limited. Out of lets say 16 games in a given week, there are about 5 or 6 games where you know most everyone is going to pick the same team, so those games become a wash. So if your behind, you have to start taking some chances on the other games... trying to pick an underdog that stands a chance and one that you don't think the others ahead of you will be picking.

It aint over though till the thin-challenged lady sings, so everyone should just keep on a tryin'. Being behind may result in me making some questionable decisions, but I'll either catch up or finish in last. There is only one spot that means anything, and that is first place. Other than that I would just as soon finish in 10th place as I would 2nd. (Until such time as we start handing out
monetary rewards for finishing 2nd.) Plus it's all in fun, so it's all sehr gut.

I really thought I had a chance picking the Dolphins over the Jets. They were at home. They'd come close the previous week. And, as I've mentioned before, they'll win a game before the Pats loose.

The Eagles almost beat the Pats the previous week. It wasn't hard picking them over the Seagulls at home.

And who would've expected the Saints to lose against the Bucs? Yeah, the Bucs were leading the division, but they were just holding it for the Saints.

Bulger was out of the Rams game, so the Falcons was another great pick, I thought!

Yeah I tried the Miami route as well.... Big mistake there... won't happen again. (Of course it will happen again)

I also missed the Bucs/Saints game, but the Saints had that game in the bag before they decided to pull one of the most bone-headed moves in the NFL this season. (A wide receiver reverse that resulted in a fumble recovered by the Bucs when all they were trying to do was run out the clock)

The Falcons and Eagles were not good picks... I at least got those right.

Yeah but look at it like this Hodge... St Louis was supposed to be a pretty good team this year. They were just decimated by offensive line and running back injuries early on....

That's right... that's what the rumor mill is saying, but come on... It really can't be any worse than Herrington and/or Byron Sandwich. Redman actually looked decent last week after he came in to replace Joey, and he played really well in the pre-season.

I really wished DJ Shockley wasn't out with injury. He's got some game, and an arm that can actually throw the ball more than 30 yards downfield.

It was all looking so good a few weeks ago; now the Packers have to host the Raiders, then go on the road to another dome-team in St. Louis. Their records suck, but they are starting to play some really good ball lately; not the easy wins as "planned".

Ach! I'm delusional and suffering from the Dallas hangover, just like Indy did after the Patriots got the better of them. Green Bay should prevail the rest of the season. Detroit is falling apart (as usual) and the Bears are DUE for an a$$-whooping at home.

After all that comes to pass, though, the AFC side of the equation is rather daunting....:(

From what I saw this past week; he made quick decisions and got the ball out in a timely fashion. That's better than the current alternatives. His arm isn't appreciably stronger than Harringtons, but he doesn't put so much air under his throws that people from the stands can get to them. Byron's got the big arm but he doesn't make quick decisions, and when he finally does decide; it takes him about a month to wind up and actually let go of the ball.

Actually I wonder which coach will show up for Washington... the guy that won a few superbowls, or the guy that doesn't even know the current NFL rules. Being that we haven't seen the guy who won superbowls since the 90's, I'm betting on the latter.

Well, the "reigning NFC Champs" haven't really shown up since the NFC Championship Game last year, and while Gibbs isn't getting the same results he did years ago I expect the 'Skins to be playing with more emotion than the Bears and more focus now that the initial sorrow of the loss of Sean Taylor has been digested. Gibbs may have made a bad call with that double time-out stuff, but did it cost them the game?...maybe. I can't think of anyone that would want to make that kick knowing how many are wishing against it ... and why. It would have been an "acceptable miss" for lack of a better phrase; distance, pressure and heavy heart is a lot to overcome, but not from barely over 30 yards at the professional level (compared to almost 50). Now, Lovie Smith...you want to talk about bone-head calls - how many times did we hear "Rex Grossman is our Quarterback."? Yeah, how'd that work out for ya, Lovie? At least now he's got the excuse that neither Grossman nor Griese are all that healthy...and Cedric Benson actually isn't able to carry the load as a primary ball-carrier...and the defense doesn't have the depth to fight through their injuries, which weren't all that significant anyway...and the players you lost to free agency....Lovie, Lovie, Lovie. What happened? The Bears biggest trouble may be the coaching. Go 'Skins - they've got alot of fight in them yet and plenty of fuel...plus a home crowd.

I could've won this weeks Pickem's if I trusted in the Giants. I figured with the return of McNabb, the Eagles wouldn't let him loose. Boy was I wrong! :rolleyez:

Looks like it was a fairly easy week since seven people got 13 games right this week and it might be 14 out of 16 if New Orleans wins. And I see one person will automatically win this week if Atlanta wins (Wart.)

And some people forgot to make the Thursday pick. This week there will be a Saturday night game along with the great Thursday night game (Texans vs Broncos). I finally get to see a Thursday game as it will be televised on local TV.

Damn Lions! :( Why'd they have to make it so close?!

...oh, yeah. They're the Lions.... :(

...but just like Patriots/Eagles and Patriots/Ravens, it made Dallas look very beatable...plus, they have moderately tough games ahead against Philly, Carolina (meh) and Washington.

HU-GI-MUNG-NORMOUS LoL @ my Packers. That game went from bad to worse to hilarious. So, the Bears get the sweep (from a 6-9 pedestal) and Dallas gets home field for the playoffs. C'est la vie! I'd rather the Packers play the big game (if they make it past the first playoff game in Lambeau, that is...) in a more controlled environment - Texas Stadium - as the team obviously can not perform under inclement weather conditions. While the same conditions @ Lambeau may have made some difference, once it got into their heads, it was over. Not only did the offense and special teams embarrass themselves, but the defense was uninspired. Better wake up Green Bay. No more room for any errors.

The rest of my picks this week were just as sad. 7-7-1 (pushed the Lions game w/ a 5-point spread). :( But held on to 10-5 for W/L. C'mon San Diego! (by 8.5 if you can, please) :)

Thanks. I was a little worried when I saw that you and me had opposite picks on six of the early Sunday games. But I got five of those six game right. :) It would have been all six if it wasnt for those inconsistent Saints.

I had to take a shot at the win. I knew it would be tough to make up that spread...but I had to take a chance. I tried to pick ones I felt you would not....maybe not a great stragedy

I didn't take enough chances in the final week. I should've taken into consideration a lot of the playoff teams would rest their starting players and forget about winning the game. Although, I did pick the Redskins over the 'Boys.

So, congrats Spidey for winning the 2007 edition of NFL Pick'ems! I ended up fourth! :( *I hate when I loose! Especially when I loose to a girl. :nanabobo:*

Pittsburgh over Jax
San Diego over Titans

Holy different picks ... Spiderman!

I'm taking...
Jacksonville over Pitt
Washington over Seattle
Tampa Bay over NYGiants
San Diego over Tennessee

Then...
Jacksonville over New England
Indianapolis over San Diego
Washington over Dallas
Green Bay over Tampa Bay

Bringing us to...
Indianapolis over Jacksonville
Green Bay over Washington

To finish with...
Green Bay over Indianapolis

I know, I know - silly, delusional Packer fans. Still, ya gotta believe!

I was out of town and didn't pick the last week. I couldn't have caught up anyway, so meh... 2nd or 20th are the same thing to me..They are both not first. Until we start getting paid for how we finish, first is all that matters.

Regarding the playoffs.... My dream scenario involves the Packers going to the big game by beating the 'Boys and then defeating the Patriots in the
Super Bowl. Probably wont happen, but it's nice to dream.

Hodgepodge
01-07-08, 06:35 PM
...Being a past Cowboys fan, I don't want to see any NFC-East opponents in the playoffs. So, I'll be pulling for the Seagulls and the Bucs this weekend.

That will bring the Bucs to Texas Stadium, and send the Seagulls to the "Frozen Tundra" of Lambeau Field. Whichever team comes out the winner, won't be able the beat the 'Boys in the NFC Championship game.

On the AFC side, I think the Chargers are going to win a first-round game at last. They'll score to many points for the Titans. Now in that other game, I think the Jaguars will finally beat the Steelers in a playoff game.

But, it won't matter when it comes to the team that will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. New England Patriots!Looks like I was 3 for 4/75%, over the weekend.

The one I missed maybe the end of the Cowboys. Not sure you can beat a team three times in a season. Plus, Manning has been earning his name over the last couple of weeks.

You can't let a QB have time to sit back and look over the whole field. If the 'Boys can put him under pressure, he'll throw a couple of INTs. That's the only way the Cowboys win!

3/4 on my wild card picks. Pittsburgh almost pulled off the great comeback.

Next round picks:
New England over Jax
Colts over San Diego

and my NFC upsets:
Giants over Cowboys
Seahawks over Packers

Here's mine:

New England Patriots over the Jacksonville Jaguars (This game could get interesting if the weather is like Chicago when the Pack paid a visit)
Indianapolis Colts over the San Diego Chargers

Obviously, Dallas Cowboys over the New York Giants
Green Bay Packers over the Seattle Seagulls
