Episode Description:
Sun discovers she is pregnant; Ana-Lucia is recruited to help interrogate Henry Gale.
Well, the main thing that stood out to me here is what a little liar Sun is! Knowing what we now know, she just looked Jin straight in the face and SWORE she had never been with any other man. Hmmmm. She could have picked other words or even not bothered telling Jin what the doctor told her. What difference does it make? All it did was make Jin question her loyalty and it didn't release her of her burdens. She didn't tell the whole truth, ie that she had an affair with Jae. So she could have just said "it is a miracle" and left it at that. After all, babies are miracles!
Where did Charlie get a gun? From Kate? Or from when he helped Sawyer with the con. If it's the second thing, he sure is taking a risk of people figuring out his involvement. I loved how he pretended to hand it to AL and then gave it to Sayid.

This was probably discussed to death in the original watch, but I wasn’t a member then: I didn’t notice the first time that the pregnancy test was made by Widmore Laboratories, so it took me by surprise. Is there a list about things like this?
I loved Charlie on the search for balloon:
SAYID [pointing]: That cliff there appears to be this [showing the spot on the map].
ANA: Score one for Henry.
SAYID: Pointing out a geographical touchstone does not mean he's leading us to a balloon.
ANA: Maybe not, but at least we're on the right island.
[Sayid walks off.]
CHARLIE: Humor's not his strong suit. [Ana doesn't respond] And I'm saying this to you.
[They continue walking. Charlie looks around and sees Ana staring at him.]
CHARLIE: You looking at my bum?
Anyway, I thought it was funny stuff!

Jack advises Sun to tell Jin the whole truth. This is good, but then he turns around and lies to Kate. Yeah, you go, Jack!
AnaL said she was sorry to Sayid. I yelled…”It’s about time!”
Well, the main thing that stood out to me here is what a little liar Sun is! Knowing what we now know, she just looked Jin straight in the face and SWORE she had never been with any other man.
Before seeing her actually in bed with Jae, I would have sworn that she was telling the truth…she is such a good liar. I remember the first time I saw this episode, I was so relieved when they hugged at the end and she swore she was never with another man. I guess I am as naive as Jin.

In my notes I wrote "SHE'S LYING!!" in big letters at that scene at the end. I remember how much discussion there was about the look on her face as she hugged Jin, and now we all know. LIAR!! LnL, you're right, she's so good at it!
Some other thoughts:
Sawyer reading Are You There God, It's Me Margaret is hysterical.
So great to see Rose and Bernard (who's going to be on ER next week)!
Was this the episode that spawned the Jocke ships? Or is it Lack? ;) That shower scene is something else.
When Ana Lucia is questioning Ben, he says "Doesn't matter what I do, I'm dead already." Is this perhaps a reference to the tumor?
This is the second episode where Sayid is building something that's never been explained!! He's so underused! I want more Sayid!
Waiting for the pregnancy test is a nice little scene between Kate and Sun. And such sexual tension in the scene where she tells Jae about not being able to have a baby, and how she's glad, and moving to America. Then she tests Jin by telling him she's staying in the garden. And I think she surprised herself by saying I love you. And him saying it back in English is so sweet. He realizes how much he's isolated, and needs her.
The breakfast table scene is fantastic. Ben's masterful manipulation continues! And one of the best endings in the show's history (IMO): Got milk?
Sawyer nicknames:
Sunshine: Sun
Sweetheart: Sun
Daddio: Jin
Papa San: Jin
Bernie: Bernard
Susie: Bernard
So Jin wants to have a baby and Sun wonders why when he "has blood on his hands". Poor Jin thinks having a child will make her father respect him. "A baby will make it better." He wrecks her garden so she can't put herself at risk working on it, and then puts it all back together for her. She really doesn't deserve a guy like him. He may have blood on his hands, instigated by her father, but she is so devious and deceitful. Its not so surprising that her and Kate get on well.
I loved the little scene between Rose and Bernard when he forgets her birthday and reacts about it because he feels guilty. And follows it up trying to catch some oysters to get pearls to make her a necklace ! I still love those two. They are so motherly when Sun is feeling light headed.
Locke and Jack are still bickering. Locke asks Ana to interrogate (sorry, question !) Henry, and she asks if Jack knows. Locke not happy ! When Locke tells Jack Ana is going to talk to Henry, Jack again has had his nose put out of joint ! Creepy little scene in the hatch with Locke shaving and Jack uncomfortable with him being there. I think Jack may have had a repressed childhood ! He doesn't appear to be comfortable with people looking at his body. OK nuff said !!
Ozchick - I too loved Sawyer reading "Are you there God ..." When I told my daughter, who had been a big Judy Blume fan, she thought it was hilarious ! So after Sawyer gave Sun the pregnancy test, when did he find out she was pregnant. I got a bit confused there. Jin's perspective of Sawyer's little congratulatory speech and the cigars really touched me. It just showed how isolated Jin really was, and I got so angry with Sun and her lying, selfish ways. He is really a good and kind man. I think she must have been very spoilt as a child.
Henry, plaintively - "You guys got any milk !" He is such a lying little devil but you can't help finding him a little bit appealing !
Catnap - re. Charlie's gun, I think it may have been from when he shot Ethan, after he picked up the gun that Jack dropped, which he never gave back. I too loved the fact that he gave it to Sayid instead of Ana, and in such a snide way !
Locke'n'Load - I'm going to miss Charlie's humour. Now that he's dead, and Sawyers' gone all dark, we're really going to have to rely on Hurley !
I'm too late this time to add anything new, dammit! LOL
Sun is such a liar! I felt so sorry for Jin. Yeah, he has blood on his hands because of her also not telling the truth to Paik. She's good at it though, and had no problem lying right to Jin's face. "A baby will make it better." LOL. yes, that has been proven to work every time. :D
LnL-I thought all the scenes with AL and Charlie were great. I will miss smartass Charlie. He was good for that.
Instead of the question, "Who flies with a pregnancy test?" I want to know who was flying with a Widmore pregnancy test? It has to be significant.
Also LnL, I was so pissed that Jack had the nerve to tell Sun (?) to tell the whole truth and then lie to Kate. Why do people trust him again?
LOVED the end of this episode so much I'm going to quote it. How maniacal and twisted is Ben? He's one of the best characters on tv-ever. imo.
JACK: In the mood for some breakfast?
GALE: What's the computer for?
JACK: Nothing.
GALE: Cereal? Wow, where'd you guys get cereal?
LOCKE: It was down here all along. The pantry's full of food.
GALE: How old is it? [Jack and Locke don't respond] You guys don't know much, huh? I mean, I'd be asking all kinds of questions about all this stuff down here. You guys don't even seem that curious.
JACK: Do you want the cereal or don't you?
GALE: This must be my reward for good behavior, huh? I guess I earned myself some good will for finally drawing that map for Ana.
LOCKE: What map?
GALE: To my balloon.
JACK [to Locke]: Did you...
LOCKE: No.
GALE: Wow, you guys have some real trust issues, don't you? Guess it makes sense she didn't tell you. I mean, with the two of you fighting all the time. Of course, if I was one of them -- these people that you seem to think are your enemies -- what would I do? Well, there'd be no balloon, so I'd draw a map to a real secluded place like a cave or some underbrush -- good place for a trap -- an ambush. And when your friends got there a bunch of my people would be waiting for them. Then they'd use them to trade for me. I guess it's a good thing I'm not one of them, huh? You guys got any milk?
:D LOVE it!

Never too late, Zia.
I, too, enjoyed that final scene. Ben is such a great character that even when you root against him (as the "bad" guy) there is something about him that makes you hope he stays a long time.
So, someone on the plane was travelling with a Widmore pregnancy test.
Any thoughts on this subject?
LnL-I know you're here...
Oh no, Zia - What are you doing to me ? Oh well, I suppose it keeps me off the streets !

Well, it would be someone we know (or knew).....Kate, Sun, Shannon, Rose, Cindy, Libby, AnaLucia. Most likely not Sun. Kate seems unlikely. Rose...probably not. That leaves Shannon, Cindy, Libby, or AnaL. Which one do you think may have thought she was pregnant? And why didn't she take the test before the flight?

True. Someone we know probably, but my point is that it's a Widmore Industries brand pregnancy test.
Doesn't that suggest that someone already had an affiliation with Widmore prior to the crash of 815? Or can we just forget it and say maybe it was just representative of a name brand for story purposes only?

My guess is for the story purposes only. One of the many coincidences that TPTB throw in there to make us go WT? They seem to enjoy giving us rabbit trails to go down only to end up head first in a wall of dirt.
And yet we keep going down those trails. :D
At least I made you quit lurking long enough to post, Brian! :nanabobo: And I'm
still not entirely sold on it being a coincidence.
Locke'n'Load I was just washing the dishes and came up with one of my theories, and found your new thread. Actually I thought it might have been Sun. Seeing as how we can never be sure whether or not she did the deed with Jae, she may have been concerned about being pregnant and taken the test with her, just in case. The fact that it was a Widmore test, well wasn't her father something to do with Widmore ? (I should have checked before I started posting) which would have made it easier to get her hands on one without raising Jin's suspicions. It may have gone missing in the crash and the reason she went to Sawyer was because she knew there may have been at least one on the flight (hers) and that if it had been found, Sawyer was the one that would have had it. What do you think ? Is my imagination to over-active ?!!!

Ozanna, I like your imagination. I like the way you put that together and you may very well be right. Two and two seems to add up to four. However, I've never been good at the "new math".

Ooooh thanks Lock'n'Load -this is great, its almost like chatting. What time is it where you are ? Its 1.31 pm here in Melbourne. Congrats on your 600th. This is my 340th over not quite 4 months. Do you suppose I need to get a life ? Naah. Anyway I'm just about to go and search Sun's family and who her father is connected with. It'll keep me away from Dr. Phil and Oprah ! Just noticed your join date is July 2007 which me looks like an amateur ! I lurked for a long time. Anyhow keep posting ! Anna.

:celebrate: LnL! I should have known you were PST. I always see you.
Ozanna, you have the best theories when you're doing the dishes! :D
I can't wait.
Well, I sort of came up with something, but most of it is what everyone knows already. Paik Industries is involved with Widmore, and also heavily involved with The Hanso Foundation. Widmore does make pregnancy tests and also it made Henry's balloon ! I've never been into TLE, maybe I should, but theres a lot about it in there ! My main point is that Sun actually brought the pregnancy test with her and Sawyer found it in the fuselage and then put it in his stash .......... Well you never know when a pregnancy test might come in handy do you !! I suppose the only way of finding out is to ask Sawyer. I'll volunteer ! So because Sun knew she originally had one with her she had nothing to lose (except her pride !) by asking Sawyer she did and he obliged.
Maybe I should go do some more dishes Zia. Yuk !!
:D Ozanna, You can start with my dishes. Anytime! LOL
I'll keep going down those rabbit trails L'n'L, although I'm getting a bit of a sore head from banging into all those dead ends !
No Zia it can't all be coincidence. And I have enough trouble doing my own dishes, but I suppose I should go and do some more and see what fantasy I can come up with next ! If you got to wash dishes you may as well fantasize too !
It can't be a coincidence. :)
I think it was Kate's. She looked like she was trying to hide something - "wow, who would fly with a pregnancy test". Maybe her and the Marshall? LOL

L'n'L & Zia - first of all I sent my sympathies for all you SoCal fire people in the appropriate thread - we have had our fair share here over the years and I think this coming summer could be pretty bad. Having very little rain doesn't help. Hope it rains for you soon.
Back to the topic. I'd be very intrigued to find out what was going on with Kate and the Marshall, but I don't think its going to happen yet. I'm sure there is something. I get this idea that TPTB withhold these little snippets of information to keep our interest going - this would be a lot more interesting than that pathetic triangle - like -an indecisive woman and 2 guys who are rapidly losing interest! Boooooring! I think they are doing the same with the Tampa job, and when that DOES happen it'll be really boring, too, just like Jack's tatoos !
Oh well, "Lockdown" next - I hope I can find something in there !
All you guys in the fire areas, keep safe.

Although I never really thought S2 as really bad except for a couple of epis (such as the previous Sun story losing her ring, even if it was emotive), I must admit I truly enjoyed seeing this one again, one of the few Jin/Sun fbs I don't mind rewatching either.
Ozanna, I think you may have been right about that Widmore pregnancy test having been Sun's in the first place. As soon as I read your suggestion that the test might be Sun's, the scene where she asks Sawyer whether she might look in the medicine stash popped right into my head and that fits perfectly! She wanted to have a look whether it was in the medicine stash or not, and if not then she would not have revealed it.
MEDICINE STASH
A correction though: Sawyer has the medicine stash not because he salvaged it from the plan wreckage. Sawyer salvaged books, liquor, tooth paste, cigarettes and such things. Jack salvaged ALL of the medicine stash in the wreckage.
Sawyer acquired full possession of Jack's medicine stash (except for a bottle of antibiotics pills) because Locke decided to hide everything from the gun room in the Long Con (including the heroin and Jack's medicine stash, which he had no business hiding)! Sun explicitly asks Sawyer whether it is correct he has ALL of the medicine stash now. And she worked long enough alongside Jack in the caves to know that normally he was the master of all medicine. And why else would Jack later try to re-acquire the medicine stash through poker?
Leaving aside how it makes me think of Locke as being extremely petty because of that, there are some probs in the story with that. Jack showed he was upset about the guns, but not about the medicine stash, not to Sawyer, not to Locke. Plus Jack doctored Ben. So Jack still has at least some emergency first aid kit with swads and alcohol to disinfect with regards the arrow wound as well as Ben's bruised and cut up face, along with the one bottle of antibiotics he took from Sawyer's tent that provoked the Long Con, from which I guess he must administer antibiotics to Ben in order to prevent infection from the arrow wound.
Charlie with a gun:
Another correction: Charlie did give the gun back to Jack after he shot Ethan. The only way he got a gun was from Sawyer. Probably asked Sawyer for it, just like Kate did. Sawyer might have given it without questions because Charlie helped him acquire it. Although I seriously think giving Charlie a gun is dumb, almost as dumb as giving one to AL. Yet, I can see why Sayid would have been miffed about not asking Sawyer for it, because of the torture remark at the end of the Long Con.
Locke-Jack:
Locke had a great idea about asking for AL's help, but he so needs to rub it in Jack's nose doesn't he. What a petty man! He shows it by being miffed when AL asks him whether Jack knows about and his ego so needs to point out he doesn't need Jack's permission (she wasn't even asking that). And he shows it by making a point of it to Jack by first relating the idea as if he didn't ask AL yet, and then when Jack sees the brilliancy of Locke's idea he so must show he went ahead without discussing it first.
Yeah, I know some think that it doesn't need Jack's ok. But the point is to work together, which means discussing things. Locke's just petty. And I don't even see much of a reason for it: most of the time, Jack has shown to be easily convinced by Locke's arguments and ideas, or at listen to Locke's objections. Heck, even during the Long Con, Jack seems to have had the intention to speak with Locke first about getting a gun for himself and Jin. He expected Locke to be down in the hatch at the time, and even asked Sawyer where Locke was. Because Locke wasn't there, he decided to enter the gun room.
But several of them are being petty aren't they: oh, Jack didn't ask me to form an army, he asked AL. So? Isn't it better to spread responsibilities?
And eventually Jack answers Locke's pettiness by letting Ben out of the gun room without discussing it with Locke and in that sense doing something petty himself, which imo gives ones of the best scenes ever yet: Ben asking about the cereals and then telling about his map, etc... Just loved it.
AL-Charlie-Sayid:
It's clear AL doesn't want to be dragged in the petty power struggle between Locke and Jack and decides to do what she thinks needs to be done on her own.
Sayid was building the table together with Charlie. Charlie had become a pariah, but at least he has found some company in Sayid, when he's not helping Eko with his church.
Sayid does feel left out because of the Locke-Jack dynamics too, and was disappointed in them not being down the hatch during the Hunting Party when he was looking for some companionship to lift his mood. I guess his ego was hurt because of that. Yet, they probably did not ask him to come along, because the hatch wasn' this thing and so he rarely was there and he was grieving over Shannon, and they'd have been insensitive in their eyes if they had run to him.
It's not that the Losties don't trust each other, but the underlying general theme here is that the Losties all have sensitive ego-toes and are tunnel-visioned, having little vision for situational causes.
Anyway, so Sayid is ready for action again, themes up with AL (wow surprise) and Charlie and go look for the balloon. Good thing that AL is with them because she forces them all to search thorough for it. Sayid is quite easily content at not seeing it at first half-glance and murder Ben.
As for AL: she really does need the feel of a gun in her hand, doesn't she. As soon as she sees a gun her hands get itchy and she tries to acquire it. I loved how Charlie held it in front of her nose to then just give it to Sayid.
Sun-Jin:
That scene where we hear how Bernard and Saywer must sound to him was immensely helpful to understand his sense of isolation. Heck, even if you start to know a language proper enough to ask for organisational stuff, the elementary stuff and the rest of it is half familiar if not yet intelligible, someone talking for several minutes of which you only recognize a word now and then (and thus understand the gist of what they're telling) it can still sound like that. It's not just isolating, it's also quite mentally tiring to try and keep listening.
Despite how much I know Sun is a big-time liar, the mechanics of those lies are so human too. Yes, it's quite silly for Jack to advize Sun to tell the whole truth to Jin when he lies to Kate about there being nothing the matter at the hatch. And yet, it's not totally as hypocritical. Jack did tell the whole truth to his ex-wife Sarah about his extramarital kiss with Gabrielle.
Anyway back to Sun and Jin. They both make mistakes in their relationship which have to do with what they think is best to protect each other. Jin does his bloody work for Sun because he believes he ought to do that to win her father's respect and be deserving of her, yet at the same time he projects his resentment over his tasks onto her: what it takes to be married to her... Yet, in part he chose to work for Paik, including in this way (even if Sun was the cause for Paik to alter Jin's job).
Sun kept the identity of Jin's mother secret, kept it to herself she knew Jin lied about his dad not being dead: all to not hurt Jin's sense of honour. She kept the infertility cause from Jin for the same reason. It's her way of protecting her. Jin's idea of protection is as skewed, just more physical.
I do think Sun planned to be absolutely honest at first, and commenced to confess about the true infertility issue, but when she saw Jin so upset over him having been the infertile one, she could not find the courage to also tell Jin it might be Jae's. That's the way with lies, isn't it, certainly if you started to lie against the one you love in order to protect them.
A bit hypocritical of Jin btw, feeling so sorry for himself when he learns about his infertility, yet he could not extend the same sympathy for her when she was originally told she was infertile. No wonder she felt relieved and chose to go to the US, and extend her lessons in English to an affair with Jae. I don't agree with the solution, but how more personal can you be hurt than your partner blaming you for being infertile? How much does such a thing destroy emotionally? I'm glad though it was Jin's after all.
As a last note: the destruction of the garden imo is Jin's reaction to Sun asking Jin to stay behind and not help search for Michael.

I'm not a huge believer in the "Kate and the Marshal had a fling" theory, although I think it would be an extremely interesting route to go on. Kate has such doubts about her own worthiness that sleeping with the man who's chasing her is probably the darkest place she's ever been. But it would definitely call into question her statement in "Outlaws" about never having had a one night stand.

I never really thought there was anything more to it then a cat and mouse game too. He was just baiting her the entire time he was chasing her which was for a couple years, I think.
When Ana Lucia is questioning Ben, he says "Doesn't matter what I do, I'm dead already." Is this perhaps a reference to the tumor?
"I'm already dead" was said in Collision, by Sayid or Ana (or heck, maybe both). While we know the writer's love to reuse lines with different characters, I'm thinking since it involves Ben and Ana it might signify that he heard/saw what she said, that even in the jungle the Others are watching the losties. And, if it was originally said by Ana, then Ben just found a good way to relate to her-to manipulate her into trusting him.

Now the show has revealed infertility issues between Sun and Jin. Although we’re beginning to see a pattern, it isn’t fully realized until Season Three when we learn about the birthing issues on the Island.
Tragically, Jin believed everything would get better between himself and Sun if they had a baby.
There’s a bit of Season Two Regression going on in the scene where Jin tears up Sun’s garden. Now, we can understand why he wouldn’t want his wife to be back where she was attacked only days before, but the way he goes about “protecting her” is all wrong. He crossed the line when he grabbed her and when he tore up her garden. His attitude and demeanor when he bursts into the garden is much more in line with how he acted in Season One. He was even back to handling her roughly – all this after meekly standing down from chasing Michael in The Hunting Party. Does the regression last? No, not nearly as long as Charlie’s and Sawyer’s and Locke’s regressions, but it is nonetheless part of the pattern I’ve noticed about certain characters in Season Two.
Ana Lucia looks frightening when she runs! :eek1:
Locke: “There’s a man sitting in a room in my hatch and I want him out.” – Boy, he really has lost his way ever since he got in that hatch. He has also suffered Season Two Regression – possibly the worst case of all the characters. Essentially, he has become the angry, scared old man he was off-island. He only starts to get back on track when Eko leads him to The Pearl and replaces Locke as the button-pusher.
Rose and Bernard bicker like champs; you’d think they’d been together for over forty years with that kind of talent. :nanabobo:
Again, I gotta say Ana Lucia has really mellowed out since Collision. I really don’t mind her anymore.
Ben: “Why bother? I’ve already told it (his story) to everyone. Jack, Locke, the big black guy who cut off his beard in front of me, oh yeah, and my buddy Sayid; you can see how much he liked my story.” :rotfl:
Hurley + Sun bumping in the jungle = AWKWARD! :lmao:
The pregnancy test is from Widmore Labs. I forgot how many times Widmore’s name popped up before we saw him for the first time in Live Together, Die Alone. If I’m not mistaken, his name is also on Henry Gale’s balloon.
That was not one of Jin’s proudest moments when he lost his temper at Sun after they got their test results from the doctor. She needed support; she didn’t need to be yelled at.
Charlie to Ana Lucia: “As I recall, the last time you had a gun you murdered someone.” – Now, there’s an ironic statement. Although Charlie didn’t shoot anyone in Exodus Part 2 when they chased after Rousseau, he did shoot Ethan dead in Homecoming. Yet Charlie gave up the gun easily enough, humorously faking it to Ana Lucia before pivoting it back to Sayid.
Jack actually gave Sun some very good advice. “You should tell the whole truth.” Sun never manages to do this, but events (such as Juliet revealing Sun’s affair to Jin in Season Four) eventually force the truth out. Once Jin knows everything, he comes to peace with his wife, and is renewed. That was one of my favorite scenes in Season Four from Ji Yeon when Jin forgives Sun for everything.
Of course, Jack immediately forgets his own advice when he lies to Kate and says everything is fine in the hatch. :rolleyez:
Sorry Charlie, they don’t have time for second breakfast! :nanabobo:
That was cool how they made Sawyer and Bernard’s words sound like gibberish to Jin’s ears. Poor guy…he’s still so isolated. When he admits to Sun that he can’t talk to anyone, I feel so bad for him. That has to be incredibly lonely.
Jin in the garden: “I’m fixing a mistake.” :thumbs_up
Sun swears to Jin she has never been with another man. At this point in time, she’s not ready to tell him the whole truth, following Jack’s earlier example by ignoring his own advice.
I’m really glad the baby turned out to be Jin’s. This is the latest in a string of Island “miracles” that we’ve learned about since the show started. The most obvious was Locke being able to walk again. The next we will learn about will be Rose’s cancer going into remission after the crash.
Jin: “I…love…you.” – That’s really touching. :)
Ben’s questions during the cereal scene were interesting. He made a point of asking how old the cereal was. Could this be important? Maybe not, but he also asked where they got all their food. It’s almost as if he was trying to determine whether or not the Losties had received the food drop yet. As we know, a food drop will happen very soon in Lockdown. Did Ben have Mikhail order a food drop using The Flame’s computer? If so, why? Was it to keep the Losties fat and happy on their side of the Island? Or were the provisions from the food drop meant for the Others and Ben was scouting out the food drop’s possible location when he got caught in the net? It seems unlikely the leader would risk going so close to Lostie territory for such a seemingly menial task.
Ben: “Of course, if I was one of them – these people who you seem to think as your enemies – what would I do? There’d be no balloon. So I’d draw a map to a real secluded place like a cave or some underbrush – a good place for a trap, an ambush – and when your friends got there my people would be waiting for them. Then they’d use them to trade for me.” Pauses a beat. “I guess it’s a good thing I’m not one of them, huh?” Looks at both of them. “You guys got any milk?” – This is simply an amazing piece of dialogue delivered in a deviously awesome Michael Emerson fashion. :thumbs_up
You know, I used to dislike watching Sun/Jin episodes but during this rewatch I’ve found them to be very touching after witnessing all the character development this couple goes through on the Island. I particularly like how Jin has grown over five seasons of the show. Good episode and I can’t wait for the infamous Lockdown!

Sorry Charlie, they don’t have time for second breakfast! - HAHA WW, good call.
I laughed out loud at the pure pwnage Locke & Jack received at the hands of Ben at the end there.
You guys got any milk?
Oh hahahaha, the look on their faces, pure pure class, a star is born, one that arguably helped LOST get to a 6th season. I really cant put into ords just how clever his character is, its pure genius.

Worry not! I've warmed a nice place for you near the end of Season Two. :nanabobo:
In all seriousness, though, you're actually not really that far behind. Just take your time and enjoy it.
I've found a new appreciation for Season Two during this rewatch. It was good, but it never was one of my favorite seasons. Now I recognize how much Season Two paved the way for the rest of the show to evolve. Really great stuff!

Ah so cool that you've grown to appreciate this season, it's challenging top spot for me.
This re-watch is brining back so many memories of the intrigue that came with it and me and my friends talking about it after each episode.
I agree, Shep. Its like all of a sudden you get a sudden flash - so thats what that was all about ! And to witness the subtle changes in the characters - not so subtle sometimes - thats what makes it tick for me :) I can't believe how intricate and complex TPTB have made them all. And I can't believe that at the end of S5 I actually began to like Jack, momentarily !

Totally forgiveable Ozzy, I think we all prefered the more chilled philosophical jack who stopped trying to fix things, for, like, 3 episodes :lmao:
Im still astounded at the quality of writing on this show, the flashbacks could be a whole series/show all by themselves.
At the time they must of been the most accomplished and well paid team of writers in TV land.
Then someone wrote in the line for Hurley 'Or another time dude', and it all went horribly wrong.
Oh ok thats a bit harsh, its still very good, but not Season 1 & 2 good.
Agree or disagree?
Then someone wrote in the line for Hurley 'Or another time dude', and it all went horribly wrong.
When I first heard that I thought "wow" and went galloping off looking for clues into Glen Miller, could he have crashed in the Pacific and not the Atlantic, Amelia Earheart, and so on, and it all really came to nothing. And I figured TPTB were just throwing us peasants a crumb from the rich man's table - but misleading us even more by using Hurley as the
"informant". It seemed a bit heavy handed - not subtle, Dude !
I actually preferred the ones where Locke and Claire and Sawyer had their deja vu moments. And we began to get the hints that some of them had been there in another time.
Just my 2 cents :D
