Imagine this scenario:
Claire finally gets on the helicopter like in Desmond's vision. She's also with other losties who we obviously can't name right now because this might not even happen. As they land onto the freighter, they are told by their rescuers that they will be sailing back to the Western coast of the US very soon.
They are taken down into the freighter's interior, and led to a very stale barren room. The door is quickly slammed and locked behind them. They realize they are in some kind of quarantine...and as they look around the room for means of escape or anything...they see a familiar face in the corner: Michael. They find out he's been on this freighter since the day he and Walt left, and has no idea where Walt is.
Michael then belts out a WAAAALLLLLTTTT as the camera gives a bird's eye view.
That last part was a joke. I can also see they think they're safe, but all of a sudden are thrown into a sort of decontamination process, getting scrubbed off in showers by men in biohazard suits, and then maybe that Michael scenario can happen.
Couldn't you guys very much see a season plot line revolving around rescuing those who are on the freighter and either seizing it or destroying it, ala Locke & the sub.
I dunno, just some food for thought.
