Did anyone else notice that she was wearing a big ol' jeweled ring while making the hole, but it wasn't on her finger when she was done burying the bottle?

I noticed that. It seems to me I saw it flash when she stood up in her garden when Claire and Shannon approached. That's the last time I remember seeing it.

Sun is really impressive. Despite the anguish she must feel (finding the bottle and it's implications - possibly the death of her husband), she has the wisdom to bury the bottle. If that had been presented for all to see, it would have taken away the survivors hope.

This was a very nice way to show how Sun dealt with the situation. Now she will begin to ponder the fate of Jin and the Raftaways, but who will she tell? Only Claire and Shannon know. If Kate finds out, I bet we see her cozy up to Jack alot more.

No, it looked like a big piece of costume jewelry like my Grandmother used to wear to church, but with Jin and Sun's wealth, I guess it'd be real diamonds and sapphires.

I rewatched that, and it shows one shot while she is digging where she does not have the ring on, then shows a shot where she does. Then she does not again when she is thru digging. I am afraid it may just be a continuity error.

I was thinking maybe she buried her wedding ring with the bottle as a symbolic gesture, but you're probably right about it being a continuity error.

But I doubt she did it on purpose. I think we'll see Sun digging around in the sand for her wedding ring sooner or later.:rolleyes

In the middle of burying the ring suddenly disappears and then when she is done burying the bottle she has the ring back on her finger. I think it is just a mistake.

I did read somewhere that in a future show Sun spends some time trying to locate her wedding ring. Maybe the character was supposed to have buried the ring accidentally.

I heard the same thing.
I'm sure there's symbolism in it somewhere.
