I think Sun Is pregnant.. Just a theory, but I would bet big bucks that it will be revealed.

While reading the Homecoming thread in General Discussions, several posters mentioned the strangeness of Jin worried about Claire's baby, until someone said, "Well, he could be asking after Sun's pregnancy."

Upon reading that, I replayed the exchange between Jin and Sun, and had one of those duh! moments - Makes utter sense!

Yes she could or she miscarried an earlier pregnancy. Maybe that's why Jin didn't want to touch Claire's pregnant belly (can't remember the name of the episode this happened in) because it was too painful still and also, why he was concerned with Claire and her baby upon her return. I sure hope they include this in Jin's backstory, whenever that airs!

Also, on last night's episode, towards the end where they show Claire sitting on the beach and Charlie approaches her to take her up on that offer to "go for a walk" - did anyone notice in that frame, Jin & Sun are in the background in the initial shot? I feel this is a clue, however subtle on the part of the writers, towards introducing Sun's lack/loss/desire for a baby. Of course I could be grasping for something here but of all the people on the island to be used in the backdrop, they selected Sun and Jin.

I think that she is pregnant or miscarried. It would make a lot of sense. Interesting observation anarane saralonde, I do believe it is significant!:D

Thanks for the support XX. At the time, I felt that that scene in particular held a certain significance regarding the baby theory but my thoughts about this are beginning to waver. Perhaps that scene was a foretelling omen about Jin and Sun's marriage. I had no idea Sun's secret knowledge of the English language would weight heavily on their relationship. Now I'm beginning to suspect that was the reason they focused on the two of them in the end of that episode. Still though, deep down I hope they reconcile and the hope of a baby storyline (whether she miscarried previously or will get pregnant) will be featured for the next season. Trust me, I'll be looking for any clues that might lead me in that direction again.

anarane, I still think that that little exchange can go either way - or even both - with Sun's having possibly miscarried.

Meaning, it's a way to emphasize Jin's isolation due to the language barrier, but also to subtly indicate that he's worried about Sun for the reason's you indicated a couple of messages back.

I hope one or the other pans out Az. I really hope so. Their storyline has so much potential to add that "hopeful" element and less of the over-melodramatic story in the island/character dynamics. Sometimes less is more.
