View Full Version : Claire in Flaming Car in Flash Forward?

I searched the forums twice but could find nothing about this...

We watched the S3 finale on DVD last night and we are wondering if the lady and 8 yr. old boy in the flaming car on the bridge that Jack rescued are Claire and her son, Aaron - 8 years into the future!!?? You can't see the lady's face in the hospital bed in the future flash because she is so messed up from the car fire and has tubes everywhere so you can't tell if it is Claire. It is specifically said that the little boy Jack pulled from the flaming car is 8 years old. Perhaps Jack knew who they were and that is why he was so interested in performing the surgery on the lady. Either that or he was totally otherworldly from his Oxycodone.

This is our idea...what do you all think?

Oh...you are serious. Sorry.

ETA: Honestly, dharmapup, I thought you had been around long enough to not be doing st00pid n00b tricks. The idea is completely rediculous. Not even worth serious consideration, which is why your search on the subject came up empty.

Someone posted that same theory on DarkUFO's site just after the preview that showed Jack rescue the family and the lady in the hospital bed came out.

After the finale actually aired, I never heard anyone mention that theory again, until now.

When I first watched the finale, I thought the woman in the bed might have been Juliet's sister and her son (Julian?) in the waiting room. But didn't really attach a lot of significance to it.

Actually I think this is a perfectly valid theory. If you disagree, BigCat that is fine but please do so politely and state your reasons for disagreeing. Your attitude might prevent others from posting their thoughts for fear of being flamed...that would be sooooo silly though. Many stranger things by far than this theory are happening on Lost on a regular basis and this is actually one of the more reasonable theories that Claire and Aaron might be the people Jack rescued in the future flash. However as I said if you disagree don't be rude and just state why.
Thank you.

I also thought this may be the case upon first viewing TTLG, but I think its just not possible. There isn't enough info to really know either way, but I think if it was Claire and Aaron, Jack would have maybe behaved a little different considering he would have known them. Then again, I suppose the whole alternate timeline BS could come into play, so who knows. :)

I remember this being a huge discussion over the summer i think...A lot of people thought it might be Claire, but i believe there was a lot of evidence pointing away from the theory (can't remember any specifics). However, I had never thought about Juliette's sis and her son....hmmm

But, there is definitly at least one thread around here that has a pretty in depth discussion about this......good luck finding it!!

yeah there was another thread on this theory I'll try and look for it but I remember the main argument against this was the fact that 8 years is too far into the future for the flash forward

Interesting idea, regardless of whether it's Claire or Juliet's sis.

Yeah, I was pretty harsh there, dharmapup. All apologies.

I dont think it could be Aaron. He was born a few weeks after the crash in Sept 2004 so he would only be 2 and a half when the flashforward takes place (April 2007, per the newspaper Jack was reading in the episode). That is assuming they are using a linear time line of course lol.

I think it was Annie. Who is really Kate. I mean, Danielle.
