It was interesting that he didn't know what Sayid did. He's far more out of the loop then the insiders who have dossiers on all the castaways. All he seemed to know where names on the manifest.

He also seems to be in charge/in the loop enough to tell cute science boy Daniel to hang up the phone if Minkowski answered. I'm still not sure what's up with that - but it certainly gives the impression that he knows more than he lets on . . .

Yeah, very subtle. They might as well have winked.

As for how much Lapidus knows, remember Naomi was told by guy-whose-name-I-can't-remember that each of them was chosen for a particular reason. From the way they are acting, the four freighties may have completely different agendas on the island, and may not even know what the others are up to. Miles seemed to be the only one who cared about finding Ben. We don't know what Frank's mission is yet. I can't believe it is just b/c he is a cracker-jack pilot.

I think characters have said twice something like, "They've sent three specialists... and a pilot." Like they want us to underestimate him.

I can't wait to find out more about him.

I agree there's more than meets the eye with Frank. Remember, Frank was supposed to be the pilot of flight 815....but he wasn't. And the pilot who crashed 815 was killed by the smoke monster, or the security system, or what ever it is. Could the security system have killed the pilot because he wasn't supposed to be there, he was the 'wrong one?' And isn't it a strange coincidence that the pilot of flight 316 just happens to be Frank? It's like he's somehow tied to the island like the 815 survivors, the others and Ben. And then he's sent to the Island as one of the Freighter 4 who have all been chosen for a purpose. What's Franks purpose? I think he was supposed to crash on that island with 815, but didn't. And now the island is trying to correct that.

Oh, I found this site on Google. And also, I read somewhere in this huge forum you had a knee replacement. That sounds painful, I just wanted you to know that I hope it's getting better. Along with your PC. :D You're obviously very PC literate. A lot of what you say in the words of Frank Lapidus "goes way over my head, the rest goes way way over my head."
