View Full Version : Another Tier of Voting?

It looks like one of the club names is developing a slight lead over the others, though by no means a majority. Some of our members have expressed a desire for a multiple choice poll, so they could express their support for more than one name. I kind of regret not setting up the poll that way. What do you guys want to do?

Go with whatever choice wins in the current poll? Or set up another poll with multiple choice voting?

And if we set up another poll, public or private? With public we could enforce a vote limit (say, top 5), but your votes would not be private. Or we could keep it private, and just go on the honor system. Or do we even want a limit? We could just have people vote for all the names that they like.

Sure we can vote again. I don't understand how multiple choice would help, though. I'd just go with the one with the most votes, public or private.

Well, hypothetically, let's say for example that every member liked a different name as their number one favorite... but it turned out that every member liked the same name as their 2nd favorite. With multiple choice voting, we could get a consensus of what which names are high on everyone's list, though they might not be a few peoples' first choice.

Geezus, you've got more name choices than people who voted.

Yeah, we've currently got 18 members, but for some reason most of them seemed to be out-to-lunch when the first poll was put up. Go figure!

Well, lunch is over. Who's winning?

Actually, I see that 15 out of 18 members (assuming the votes all came from members) did vote. It's just that there were so many choices, the votes were so spread out there wasn't a real concensus. The top vote getter was only 4 votes, 26% of those voting.

Hopefully with the "TOP FIVE" poll we'll get a better sense of what names are popular for a majority of members.
