Greetings! In the spirit of Ben Linus's various lists, I propose we catalog every single one of Ben Linus's lies, in the order he tells them! :)

I will maintain the numbered master list here in Post #1. Help is appreciated, keeping track of all of Ben's lies is a big job! I find the episode transcripts here on site are quite helpful.

When submitting, please give the quoted lie, the context in which this was a lie, and when the lie was told (episode, etc.). Thanks!

I will start the list with the first Ben lies we heard on the show in "One of Them" (though there will no doubt be lies that chronologically occur before these, via flashbacks).

Even chronicling Ben's lies in that one episode is going to take awhile, there are soo many. I shall start with just the first three for now.

These are my personal favorites of Ben’s lies:

Said to Jack in S3 The Glass Ballerina:
I want for you to change your at... perspective. And, the first step in doing that would be for me to be decent enough to introduce myself honestly, so... Hi, my name is Benjamin Linus and I've lived on this island all my life. You're not gonna shake?

Said to Locke in S3 The Man From Tallahassee:
I was born on this island. Not many of my people can say that. Most of them were recruited and brought here and as much as they love this place...as much as they would do anything to defend it...they need to know they can leave if they want to. The sub maintains that illusion.

And again to Locke from the same episode…

You've been here 80 days, John. I've been hear my entire life.

And Locke must have needed lots of convincing...from S3 Man Behind The Curtain:
I was born here on this island. I'm one of the last that was. Most of these people you see - I brought them here. So Jacob talks to me, John. He tells me what to do. Trusts me.
