Hey everyone, this is my first non-introduction post and im sorry if this is a repeated question, but i tried searching for the answer...with no luck
Is there any definitive answer of whether or not Hurley was a patient at the mental institute? Lots of sites just mention he may have been a patient. When he first went there, i assumed he was just a former worker or something along those lines.
Mods feel free to move this if this is the wrong forum.
By the way, bought the DVD's on friday and im totally hooked. I have so many theories and ideas and i cant wait to discuss with everyone. what a good show, cant believe i was missing out for so long....thanks everyone....

There's no solid evidence he was a patient. All we know is that he recently put his family through some kind of trouble, which he is sorry for. And, that he has some familiarity with the staff at SRMHI.

Oh, and of course, he knew Lenny.
Thanks. Stay tuned, SWLS2 is coming and will have a bunch of new content.

I think Hurley was more than likely a patient. He was very defensive about Charlie calling him crazy and a loon. Also, when Jack was working on Boone and Hurley was helping or just there - Jack says to him "you better not faint". Now if he was a hospital worker - he would have some kind of stomach for medical situations.....unless of course he was just an administrative/office worker at the hospital....

I agree, I believe he was most likely a patient - we just don't know for sure yet. You are right though, Hurley's sensitivity to the "crazy" remarks and his relief with Danielle agreeing the numbers seem "cursed", seem to reinforce the belief that Hurley was a patient at SRMHI.

your right, they did harp on the "loon" and "crazy" comments for a little while, so maybe he was extra defensive about it...
I thought he had ben a patient, because when he went to visit Lenny, one of the docs or nurses (forget which), said something to the effect that they were suprised to see him because they didn't think he'd be coming back. It was like they thought he wouldn't want to come back.
