Naomi's arrival

Was watching the "Meet Kevin Johnson" re-air last night.....

My question about Naomi is this...

When I first watched her arrive....we heard a chopper...now my thought was she bailed out and the chopper went down in the ocean.....
I believe she said something similar to the LOSTies (I don't know or remember her exact quote, but maybe someone can post it.).

So was this her chopper and it crashed into the ocean?
or
Did Lapidus drop her off, and head back to sea?

Now for question 1, if it was her own chopper......we never see 2 choppers on the boat, just 1, Lapidus'.....

Now for question 2, if Lapidus dropped her off....then why is he not going crazy? Faraday did not know by then what heading to go out from the island on, so I would assume that Lapidus would not know this....so he should be having mental issues like Des and Minkowsky.....no?


Now for who shot Danielle and Carl....I now believe it is guys from the boat...not Ben's group.
Reason being, right before Regina jumped over board, you could hear some guys talking in the background about Lapidus going to the island cause something along the lines of "...do you know any other place to land?" was said, or at least that is what I thought I heard....

I thought they showed a crash out at sea the night Naomi bailed out. The copter crashed in the sea and she bailed out.

If that's true, it really begs 2 questions. One, where did a second helicopter come from? That freighter couldn't hold two. And secondly, where did a second pilot come from? From what we've been shown thus far, the freighter had one helicopter and Lapidus was hired to be the pilot.

Since I believe that copter 1 and it's pilot crashed into the sea, there's no need for an answer to your part 2.

Part3, i agree. It's the guys from the boat. Seemed a preview confirms it as well.

well if you watch the "Meet Kevin Johnson" ep. again, you will see two helo pads on the boat....but only one chopper....

One chopper and a discussion about who would make the first run.
So we'd have to assume someone dropped her off and flew the chopper back to the freighter.
But what then was the splash out in the ocean? We never actually saw a chopper go down, which was... odd.

There must have been more than one pilot on the freighter because Lapidus was arguing with Naomi about who would take her to the island. She replied that he couldn't do it because she needed him to take the "science mission" (or something similar) to the island instead. You have to wonder why she planned to arrive that way.....? So Naomi probably piloted and crashed her own helo. I did not see a second helo, but someone said on here that there were two helo pads on the freighter.

And when you watch the "Meet K. J." ep. You can see the second Helo pad....but it is empty.

Hmm...oh well I guess in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter.

The working theory we have is that it was not logistically reasonable to rent 2 helicopters for one shot, when they only really need one helicopter at a time in most cases.

I'm wondering if the unseen 2nd helicopter was flying CAP or something for most of the trip, the first view of the freighter underway in MKJ was an aerial view, maybe it was supposed to be from the 2nd helo's POV. *shrug*

Naomi is herself a helicopter pilot, and she tells Frank that she will be the one flying to the island first. Frank argues, saying that he is a better pilot than she is.

There are two helipads on the freighter, implying two helicopters. Unfortunately we never see two helicopters, most likely because TPTB couldn't afford two helicopters for the scenes shot in that episode.

Naomi's helicopter does crash into the ocean, we hear it go down and we hear the splash.

I first saw it on the talk page for MKJ over at Lostpedia, and was wondering why there was no thread talking about it here at Lost TV Forums, I mean, come on! That's gotta be significant, there must be a clue there...then I found this thread:

But all they seem to be concerned with there is the shape of her butt, they seem to have no interest in exploring the deeper meanings that might lie behind the display of butt cleavage. Who knows? Maybe that's where she keeps the 2nd helicopter...:D

They did CGI to that area where Lapidus put his helo down at when he dropped off Daniel, Charlotte and Miles......

Would seem to me that putting a second helo on the boat would be small fries compared to that......or even smokey tossing around Eko and the mercs.:D
