We know he's not an Oceanic 6, but ...
Did Penny find him? Are they both in hiding together? That was my first impression when Ben said he was going to kill Penny. Otherwise he'd just wait on the island for her to come looking for Desmond.

It sounds to me like Ben doesn't know where the island is anymore.

I think the Island is still in the same place...but you have to get in the right place.

I don't think that Ben knows about Des and Penny...
Ben knows when someone farts crooked, but it just maybe possible he doesn't know about Desmond? I don't recall any interaction between them so just maybe he doesnt know who was in the hatch all those years pushing the button. Penny and Des is on the islands twin, it';s bad twin, it's sister island. where instead of smoke monsters there is fire breathing monsters and instead of pushing a button they are forced to flip on a light switch every 78 minutes. okay the last part is all hogwash over lack of sleep but it is possible he don't know about Des and he is th eone protecting Pen.
He does know about Desmond because he told Sayid that he took Desmond's boat from the island. I would bet that if he knows Des and he knows Penny, then he has to know about Des and Penny.

Ben doesn't know where Penny is, Widmore doesn't know where the island is. I think that's what they were referring to when they said that they'd never find her/it.

But that doesn't automaticly mean that he knows everything about Desmond. Until there is some kind of confirmation, I don't feel that Ben knows about the Des/Penny connection.

When Widmore told Ben that he could never find Penny, I took that to mean, or at least suggest, that she (and presumably Desmond) are on the island.

I'm pretty sure Ben would know if she was on the island. :cylon1:

That is exactly what I thought. I hope it's more than this, but it would be okay if this was true...only bad thing was how easy it was to figure out.
Ben doesn't know where Penny is, Widmore doesn't know where the island is. I think that's what they were referring to when they said that they'd never find her/it.
That's what I thought was implied. Didn't Widmore say something to the
effect of, I suppose the hunt is on, then...?
?.
Ben has always said that he's one of the good guys and he told Michael that he does not kill innocent people and that's what separates him from Charles. Wouldn't Penny be innocent? How could Ben kill her without killing her? By separating Charles from her and bringing her to the island. I hope I'm right about this, I love the Desmond/Penny relationship.
I thought Desmond was still on the frieghter with Sayid
What if Widmore knows Penny is already dead? Maybe Penny dies trying to find Des or whatever. But let's just say Penny is dead when Ben makes this threat so to Widmore this is a totally empty and meaningless threat- only Ben shows his hand (his vulnerbility) to Widmore.
Or, I guess Widmore could have Penny in some isolated tent in Antartica listening to beeps and signals. Ben's been able to find and track down all sorts of people and information- what makes Widmore so sure he'll never find Penny?
what makes Widmore so sure he'll never find Penny?
I know, where could she be that Ben couldn't find her?

Here's a wild guess! Desmond gets killed when Keamy and crew get back to the Frieghter. So Penney no longer can have Desmond and when Ben goes to kill her, she doesn't care because she's lost her true love. Two more characters bite the dust.
