Have you noticed that charlie has several times said to people you don't know me or something along those lines. Like on Weds. he told locke that and in the previews he is telling Jack that. Do you think that he has some issues about people really knowing him? Some type of psychological thing were he thinks no one really knows him.

No, I think that he could be insecure... well he is actually... but yeah. Also, remeber HE is suffering from WITHDRAWAL, its supposed to make you feel like your about to die. ... In withdrawal you get irritable... obviously... SO remember... hes probably suffering from withdrawal, feels like crap, and so... he gets pissed off easily.. OH! GOHST BUSTERS IS ON THE RADIO!!! YAY!!! *dances in seat to music... who ya gonna call? GOHST BUSTERS* Love that sly 96 fm...

Well, we found the answer last night. His brother treated him like he was a nobody and that he was useless. Now, after being told that his stuff is in the way and that he can't do anything helpful, he's begun to get more irritated and edgy than the drugs make him. Everyone wants to be someone...he just wants his place...and now he has it. Makes me love Jack and Locke that much more!

I got the vibe from that scene that Charlie wasn't really talking to Jack when they were in the caves, but was kinda stuck in his memory of talking to Liam, which is why he got so mad about having to move his stuff and started off with that "People respect" line that really didn't seem to fit the situation.

^ Me too. Maybe he was having a bit of a hallucination.

I agree...I think he was perhaps having a hallucination, or saying "You don't know me" not just to Jack, but a sort of comment about the world not knowing who he really is.

Perhaps he said this because Jack doesn't know him personally.

He probably feels like no one really knows him. Everyone thinks they do, think they know what's best for him, but he thinks he's being treated like a kid by everyone.

Locke and Jack seem to have had 'fatherly' sort of instincts towards Charlie, looking after him, and he probably wants to show themn that he can look after himself.
I agree, he seems to be quite insecure.

Well, he DID just get over a heroin addiction!!! Of course he should be insecure.
I think with time he'll realize that he IS valued...like most things, it will all resolve itself with time.
