Ok, I ,like many others, is of the mind that Claire really died in that attack on the Barracks, that, or she died from internal injuries from that incident by the time Saywer and Miles made camp ( Why do you think the reason Miles was staring at her then? He can see Dead People, right? )
So where is her body you ask?
Same thing with Christian Shepherd dead - but no body.

I think that Claire has transmigrated to what I call, the "Island Spirit Space" ( ISS ), inhabited by Black Horses, Jacob, Christian, Whisperers, Dave, Yemi, Medusa Spiders, and probably Smokey ( and eventually Locke ).
Claire's Creepy appearance at Jacob's Cabin with Christian, not to mention that Dream that Kate had in the flash forward only seems to prove this even more, I think.

The only logical reason for a mother to seemingly and suddenly abandon her infant baby to others would be if she was dead ( or dying ) already.
Right?
For all we know, she's probably hanging out with "Ghost Charlie" somewhere in the ISS...

Yes,these points have more or less have probably been brought up and covered recently here, but I just wanted to make it official...

Of course, this all could be completely wrong by next season, but hey.....It's something to think about...For eight months...
Discuss. :)

I wonder if Claire's character will be more interesting dead than she was while alive?

^ Definitely. She'll be multifaceted and get more lines. Dying never felt so good.

But...but...

Desmond, in his flashes or whatever, saw Claire and the baby get aboard a helicopter. From the viewer's perspective, everything went according to "plan." Charlie died just how he saw, was there any reason the second part of his flashes failed to come true?

I don't care that Desmond sometimes interprets his flashes incorrectly or they're only pieces of the puzzle. There's really no two ways to interpret seeing Claire get on a helicopter. No matter how you slice it, if Claire is really dead never to return, then Desmond's flashes are flat out wrong and therefore irrelevant, or he was blatently lying to Charlie. I don't like either of those two options...

Nice post. If Claire is dead, then Charlie's sacrifice is in vein.

Lame.
