Why did he put her on the plane ?

Last nights episode is driving me nuts...
How could he have let her get on the plane ?.....
I see a lot of talk on how the psyhic may have set Claire up,
I don't think this is correct.
First of all, He did not know her. You can just tell.

When the reading began he discovered her pregnancy, nothing special there yet right ?
THIS IS MY IDEA OF PROOF TO SHOW THE CHILD IS NORMAL< AT THE READING...
I think the child will only be speical if born on the island, in the influence of this entity..

Then the psyhcic keeps digging, and he sees something so scary he stops and kicks her out, as if he was afraid for his life almost.

She goes back for obvious reasons, he peeked the sh1t out of her, me too.

So he reads her again, and allows himself to go back to the blurr, and is suddenly ALLOWED to tell her this, YOU ALONE MUST RAISE THIS CHILD.
At this point, I beleive he must know the blurr is something evil & it desires to raise the child evil somehow.
All the pyshic knows is evil will surround this child if it is raised by anyone other than Claire.
HE MAY KNOW THIS BLUR IS CAPABLE OF MANIPULATING PEOPLE, FOOLING CLAIRE INTO LETTING IT RAISE HER CHILD,
AS IT MAY HAVE FOOLED ROBERT ?
THE SICKNESS IS ALLOWING YOURSELF TO BE TRICKED INTO TEAMING UP WITH THE ENTITY.

SO WHY DID HE PUT HER ON THE PLANE ?

When he did her reading, HE HIMSELF BECAME PART OF HER PATH, this may be why he kicked her out so quickly...

But she came back, and he knew again he was still part of her DESTINY, ( his primary belief system right ? )

He told her what he could, to raise the baby herself.... it was like he wanted to tell her about the island and crash, but knew he shouldn't...
She became scared and threatened to leave, to not listen and to give the child away now.... but FATE stepped in, the pens didn't work, VERY NOT PSEUDO SCIENCE HERE, and he was left with the task of putting her onto the path he saw...

All he had to do was go to the airport,

HE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THE FLIGHT ONCE HE GOT THERE AND DID HIS VIBE THING....


Please tell me this sounds allright !!!!

EDIT... Ethan may be this entity, the look he gave Claire was very determined, IF I AM RIGHT, this entity can assume any form, THE MONSTER, LOCKES MAGIC FRIEND, A NEEDLE TALON TO COLLECT DNA SAMPLES.....

So many other points to solidify the ALIEN X theory...

Yes...if he was truely a psychic, then he would have known about Charlie, and how Charlie wants to help her and all...

yung23: I think you're right absolutely right that Claire's child will only be special if born on the island. As for why he put her on the plane, my suspicion is that he initially saw the plane crash, which is why he stopped the reading. Who, after all, would want to witness a vision in which someone dies?

Then, when Claire returned, he forced himself to see more and discovered that Claire and her child actually survive the crash. It was only then that he hatched the plot to put her on the plane, thereby ensuring she would be marooned with her child.

If the psychic did indeed "see" the crash, then he would be possibly the sole person in the outside world who knows they are all still alive. Of course, no one would listen to a psychic if he told people they are alive. And it may be unlikely that he knows where they crashed.

Maybe his sight isn't perfect -- since she rejected him for four(?) months, he decided the world would be better off with her (and the baby) dead -- he was able to see that the plane would crash, so he convinced her to board it -- thinking she'd never survive the crash. He was trying to destroy the baby.

I think we will see him again, and that will be when he realizes she is still alive, as is the baby.

We don''t hear from you enough! IT is always worth waiting for though...this is really a good thought. Though I don't believe in psychics, what you have fleshed out here is how the writers can twist that around to explain. I like that. A lot!

I was waiting for a response, this post slipped into the 2nd page, I was hoping some would respond. Thanks cccourt and others", I don't know If I beleive in psychics or not, some odd things do happen in this world. I experience certain phenomenomes I can't explain, without sounding crazy anyway, so I'm not sure we can draw a line here at all....

He did put her on the plane, but I STILL think he was just trying to warn her.. He knew they wanted the baby... he knew They would make the plane come down... he was on her side. This episode does not kill this thoery does it ?

Ethan is obviously VERY strong and good at fighting, but how did he get Charlie hung up like that ? SO high, as if he can become something else right ?
Like putting the pilot up in a tree ?
HE IS THIS ENTITY, or he can share its magic somehow...

i think claire is the resolver to this whole island nonscence. Now the phsycic new the plane was coming down, and she would not be on the plane if she let the baby be adopted. So, maybe the phsycic new the outcome of all of this in order to save the group. Maybe the obduction of Claire will lead the lost survivors to... (NO IDEA WAT IT MAY LEAD TO)!!! but maybe just maybe everyone on the island is connected in some way. Think about the crime (the girl (forget her name sorry)) that she commited force someone to fly to america in order to get away or i have no idea where im going but its just an example.. basically from wat we saw the phsycic did not seem to be a negative guy,,, so i think only good can come from Claire and her baby... watch for clues guys!

Ok ppl heres my theory on this.

So the first time Claire goes in to see the physic, he sees some sort of "bluriness" which is probably an excuse for not telling her what he actually saw. So I think what he saw the first time was Claires child, and what the baby would become. The reason is because they had started on the topic on her baby already.

So the second time she goes to see him, he finally agrees, I think he does because he thought the image might have changed over the time. However it didn't and he still saw the horrible image of Claires evil baby. The baby only because dangerous if it is raised by someone else "aka what he saw in the image was something (maybe something form the island) taking the baby and raising it to cause harm. This is the reason why he told her, that she should raise her.

Now on to the plane part, I think after the physic new she was going to give the baby away, he tried to keep telling her to keep the baby. However she always disagrreed, so the physic tried to keep thinking of new solutions. Finally he figured one out, by forseeing a plane crash. So to get rid of the baby and Claire for the good of the world, he purposely sends him on.

What the physic didnt' see while reading Claire/her babies future was that this is what will cause Claire's baby to fall into the wrong hands.

So basically it was desntiy for this to happen and whatever they physic did wouldn not change it.
