The "genetic experiment" theories

If we follow the thought of some theories, the French science team could have been experimenting with increasing mental powers. Along that line then...

Sayid is now hearing whispers since he was captured by the French women. She was injecting him with what we assumed was truth serum but could have been some sort of gene manipulating medication (the very experiment they were working on 16 years ago) increasing his psi powers and allowing him to hear some "thoughts" which he's hearing as whispers since he doesn't know what else to make of the sounds.

The psi theory also does help possibly explain Jack's fight, and Claire's nightmares although it's certainly not a slam dunk... just worth pondering.

who assumed it was a truth serum? It was just something to knock him out when she moved him to the chair with his legs chained and his arms free.

You're right, I assumed some sort of truth serum since she was questioning him. Of course, most truth serums are major tranquilizers so it's still plausible that both ideas are correct.

I just assumed that was truth serum too. I guess we can't assume anything.

Something I've also been wondering about. Have you noticed that some people's wounds heal fast... some don't . Some hear/see things and others don't. I wonder if is the "sickness" Danielle referred to.

I also can't help having "rosemary's baby" flashbacks regarding Claire. She's like an incubator ... perhaps for the genetic experiment.

Truth serum is Sodium Pentathol, which is also used a surgical sedative, so it's not unlikely that Danielle's team would have some on hand. It would work both to keep Sayid in a lull and make him more open to questioning. How a drug would remain effective, much less unlethal, after 16 years is anyone's guess.

Also, the current primary method of delivering gene therapy is virii, and in the future nanobots will probably take over.
