How would you like the series to end? I think this would be a great way to do the final episode:

The episode starts with Charlie on stage, and pans out. We see Driveshaft singing "You All Everybody". We get a brief part of the song. Afterwards, it cuts to backstage as the band congratulates themselves on a great show. Reporters come up to them and start asking questions, things like, "Do you think your next album will be as big?" and things like that.

Then one reporter goes to Charlie, "Mr. Pace! You've been adament about not talking about this in your interviews, but can you tell us? What happened on the island 4 years ago?"

Then we get the normal "camera close-up" on Charlie, and the flashback noise, before going to the island. The entire final episode would be the "bookend" style episodes (like Pilot and Exodus) with multiple characters getting flashbacks, but instead of flashbacks to their pasts, it's flashbacks to the island, how they escaped, and their final days (hours?) there.

I think that'd be awesome, personally.

I prefer not to think about how it's going to end at this point in the series.:D

I don't really care, as long as there's a shocking twist that isn't cheezy or overdone.

ive planned the *PERFECT* ending:

it starts with a flash back of jack putting the black/white stones he found on adam and eve in his pocket. then it says on screen "50 years later" and scientists are on the island, andthey come across 2 skeletons with clothing in the caves, and they say basiclly what jack said to kate when they discovered adam and eve. and one of the scientists say "what should we do with these guys?" and they other says "well 1st of all one's female..." and he reaches into the pocket of the male skeleton, and finds the 2 stones jack picked up......Do you like it??? personally i think its a *GREAT* ending!!!!

Arrrr ... as long as thar be pirates in the ending, methinks I'll be happy.

How about our fearless castaways use their prowess to reassemble the Black Rock. Aye, among the finest ships I've ever seen with me one good eye. Y'arr. The show can end with a battle of epic proportions and the castaways man the ancient cannons on the Black Rock as they blast their way past "The Others" and on the the sweet freedom that be the Seven Seas.

Ahoy!

ETA: Today be TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY! YARRR!!! Here be a fine collection of icons to be usin' today:

I actually hope there's some sort of tragic ending. Like 80% of them die, and there are only a few that get rescued. That would be great.

^So every single extra bites the dust and the characters we care about survive? That sounds like an ending to me.:D

A rescue plane comes and saves them. While Charlie is boarding the rescue airplane, he trips and hits his head very hard. Fatality. The end of Charlie.

:lol lmao at the Charile comment.

Um...I hope they get off.

How about...they try making a resort on the island, all these people come - and BAM the island cuts off all communication with the outside world, no one can find them, and the monster comes..s :)

Perfect spin-off opportunity (jk)

Awww.... Poor Charlie... :lol

KF2- Love your av and sig! That quote is hilarious! :rollin

About the ending, I just hope it's a happy one. I love happy endings... Sure, I wouldn't mind if some people happened to die or get lost in the jungle or get taken away by a gigantic bird, but for the most part, I want them all to survive! :D

An airplane crash lands on the island. The survivors of the crash explain that there has been some sort of catastrophe (perhaps nuclear war or a Captain Tripps-like virus) that has wiped out 99.99 percent of the population, and that the island is the only place that has been spared from the catastrophe.

Soon we discover that all of these people have ties to the Flight 815 survivors. But even more bizarre, this plane's is filled with passengers that, based on what we've seen in the backstories, we believe to be dead... Kate's old boyfriend Tom, Jack's dad, Walt's mom, etc., etc.

The final episode ends with Charlie once asking the obvious question, "Guys... where are we?"

I'm a big fan of the tragic ending idea. In my (very vague) notion of how it ends, the island is in flames. Jack is leading the small group of survivors to some unspecified location on the beach where they can escape, and in typically unselfish Jack fashion, he sacrifices himself for the others. His last words are to Sawyer--to lead them through to safety, and to watch out for Kate. Fade out as Kate stands on the bridge of a ship looking back at the island, a single tear running down her cheek. Ah, if only I were a writer....

Really don't want it to end, but here's a scene I'd like to see in this season:

The Nehwon Connection:

All the survivors are gathered on the beach, celebrating Vincent’s rescue of Walt, Michael, Jin, and Sawyer. Jack has just finished examining Sawyer’s shoulder and declared:

“You’re lucky, it’s only a television wound, no bone, tendon, or ligament damage, and having Hurley pee on it when you got back here has kept it from getting infected. You can go ahead and use it normally, but I’d like you to grimace several times in the next few episodes to remind us you’ve been shot.”

He looks over to where several redshirts are building what appears to be a cabana out of luggage, and then suddenly looks out to sea, shading his eyes. Soon all the major characters are looking at the ocean where they see a large, bubbling swell about 50 yards offshore. It builds and builds until, finally, a huge reptilian head appears, rising into the air on a long, sinuous neck. Perched behind the creature’s head is a figure in a space-flight-diving suit with an opaque visor covering its face. The figure reaches up and pushes a button on the helmet and the visor instantly clears revealing a male human with slightly Teutonic features. He speaks and his amplified voice is easily heard by the crowd:

“Ich bin Karl Treuherz. Also, welcher von Ihnen Idioten meinen verdammten Eisbären schoßen?
(“I am Karl Treuherz. So, which one of you idiots shot my damned polar bear?”)

Getting no response, he mutters “…dummkopfe,”
(“dummies”)

and kicks the serpent’s neck. When it doesn’t respond, he pounds on the top of its head with both fists shouting, “Gottverdammtes Ungeheuer!”
(“G**damned monster!”)

The beast turns slowly, moves forward, and dives beneath the waves.

Close-up of Sawyer with a supremely disgusted look on his face, saying, “A**hole!”

(end of scene)

What, no Fritz Leiber fans in this group?

I've been wondering, if a season of lost is about 40 days on the island, then wouldn't 4 seasons (how long they say the show will air) only be about 5 months? That doesn't seem like a long enough time for them to already get rescued.

prydain15

^^ I personally think the next season should cover a few months at least. It would be more fast-paced.

Oh, and does anyone think they're going to build homes? On the LOST DVD they said they were living in huts by the end of the pilot episode...and if I were on an island I wouldn't want to be living on a beach or an open cave...

I really hope tha ABC will evenually tells us what the hell LOST is all about. I love this show. I have never been so involved with a TV show before like this one. ABC better not cancalled it without telling us the secretes of the island.

I believe that the others are past Lost People that came to the Island is the same manner as the current Lost people.

What about Claire's baby. Remember in one of her flashbacks last season in 10, Claire went to a psychic and the psychic got scared when he saw a vision of Claire's baby. The in another flash back the psychic offers her money and a plane ticket to Los Angeles to meet a couple with whom the baby will be safe. Charlie said that the psychic may have known about the plane crash all along and was consciously sending her and her baby to their death.

I think that the writers don't really know what the ending will be. The show is all about keeping people tuned in to the show. There are so many Scenarios to this show that we can write for ever and still don't have the right one.

They'll probably let things get more and more convoluted until the whole thing quickly implodes and then they'll rush out a few episiodes trying to tie everything up before they cancel it.... like Twin Peaks.

Its a reality show alled "stranded on an island" and one day they forget to press the button and some dude with a orange afro pops out of the bushes and shakes the guys hand and says "My friend, my friend, you've just been stranded on an island!" and everyone will laugh it off saying "Oh I love that show!"

The perfect ending to me would be if Ashton Kutcher parachuted onto the island and told them they've all been punked.

After The Others are defeated, it turns out they have been farming cloned human organs and a new kidney is found for Locke, which makes everything OK.

Also, it turns out they are really just in Hawaii.
