help, help!

I'm trying to view some videos at the Daily Show, and then I'm trying to download them so I can embed them in a Wordpress blog... but I can't see them, and can't find where to click to download them. Me, sad. Help?

Az,

Can you watch the video below?

If no, do you have Windows Vista?

If yes, on some Windows Vista systems the Adobe Flash Player may be installed, but will not display Flash content. In some cases updating to the latest Flash Player using the included utility can correct the User Account Control settings that cause this problem.

To run the utility, find your installed Flash folder:

Right-click C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil9d.exe
The letter changes with each Flash version, so may be "FlashUtilb.exe" or "FlashUtile.exe"

*Note: in my case, it was FlashUtilf.exe.
Select "Run as Administrator"
Follow the steps to complete the Flash Player installation
Restart your computer - this isn't absolutely necessary but it may be in order to work.
I couldn't play Flash videos using Windows Vista myself, until I did the above. I didn't need to restart the computer in order to enable this, just the browser.

thank you, Budman!

I can watch the video you posted--and I'm using XP not vista.

But here's the thing... I can watch the video where it's embedded to a Blogspot blog, but I cannot watch it at the Daily Show site--and I cannot embed it myself to a wordpress blog.

And I have no clue why!

then again, I'm not sure what my computer uses or has to watch videos.

If you have FireFox 3+ does it play for 2 seconds then stop?

If yes, the latest version of Flash 0.9.124.0 and FF 3 are not friends. They suggest upgrade to Beta 10 but that messes up other stuff like Photobucket. I went back to 0.9.47.0 and everything works fine now.

ETA: Should I delete this since it doesn't apply?

Don't delete, Dew, thank you for trying!

I just need someone to take me by the hand and help me with baby steps (and small words)

Az,

It seems that the developers at The Daily Show are aware of the problem, they posted this in their blog: Problem with Full Episode and Clip Players (http://tdsdev.blogspot.com/2008/08/problems-with-full-episode-and-clip.html)

You may want to join up and post your specifics, or check back at tdsblog (http://tdsdev.blogspot.com/) and see if they resolve it.

For Windows, Start > Run, type "Winver" and click OK.
