Film for a good cause
>> LOCAL PRODUCER, ACTRESS MAKE MOVIE IN LEE’S SUMMIT, GRANDVIEW
Elizabeth Rosenberger
Contributing Writer
Screenwriter Tom Whitus turned his love for dogs into a family movie with scenes filmed in Lee's Summit and Grandview during the past two weeks.
The film crew for "Match Maker Mary," a made-for-television movie, spent two weeks in production at 605 S.W. Benjamin Drive, the home of Charles "Chuck" Nelson, executive producer of the project and longtime friend of Whitus.
The film will be distributed by Pure Flix International, and is centered on Mary Carver, played by 12-year-old Lee's Summit resident Katherine McNamara. Mary makes an "A" on her final test and is promised a puppy from her father, played by Kevin Brief ("Cold Case" and "Frasier") and mother, Cynthia Hyre, a local theater actress.
"I wanted to make two films at once," Whitus said, of Louisville, Ky. "But the feedback I received from colleagues and friends that the dynamics of this story was so superior I decided to go with this one."
Whitus started out in sports journalism after graduating from the University of Louisville with a degree in advertisement and public relations. He said his first love is journalism, but he enjoys writing and directing, especially if it supports a cause.
"About 10 years ago, I wrote my first screenplay about dogs and kids called 'More Than Puppy Love,'" he said. "Part of the game plan for this story is to raise awareness for Wayside Waifs."
When Mary is taken to Wayside Waifs in Grandview to pick out a puppy, she meets and befriends a young woman who was left at the altar. Mary sets out to match dogs from Wayside Waifs with people in need of companionship or affection, from the jilted woman to a young man who lost his dog.
Those people later end up meeting and becoming matched with one another.
Her aunt Karen, played by Dee Wallace ("E.T."), is a co-conspirator in the dog matchmaking. In the process, Karen falls for the man who runs the Wayside Waifs facility, Cameron, played by Jeff Fahey ("Lost").
"The whole reason behind this movie is to support the fabulous organization that serves a good cause," Katherine said. "And I hope a lot of people see this movie and see what a good organization it (Wayside Waifs) is and help support them."
Katherine, who is home schooled when she is not attending Delta Woods Middle School, has been involved in acting for several years. She played the happy elf at the Coterie Theatre, and was the understudy as Scout in "To Kill a Mockingbird" at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, where she was able to perform.
"This is my first feature film," Katherine said. "It's been very exciting to be able to be on the set and learn different parts of filmmaking."
Katherine said the acting part of the filming process was the easiest for her, and when filming wraps up at the end of the week, the friendships she made on the set will stay with her.
"The cast and crew have been so supportive and so wonderful," she said. "I couldn't ask for anything more. Every show I do, it forms a family and it's sad when you have to say goodbye."
The movie is planned to be released by Labor Day.
Psych is a television show on the USA channel. It begins Season 3 on July 18. Episode 4 has a guest star :naughty:

This is a current review of this 2006 movie. I have to NetFlix this one. :D

Psych S3E1 is this Friday, July 18 at 10/9 C. Remember August 8th is the S3E3 episode and Jeff Fahey will be a guest star. :hyper:
Here's an interesting snippet.
"We have Jeff Fahey jumping through a ring of fire, full-on Evel Knievel. That episode, too, you get to the end, and the last scene in the episode is so totally unexpected and yet, sort of, heartbreaking at the same time. We're not going to be the 'weepy of the week,' but I think we're not going to shy away from that. It drives us crazy when people don't get the show and are like, 'Oh, it's just these two guys screwing around!' And it's like, no, there's actually a lot of character development—and there's a lot of heart in our show, and we're really not shying away from it this year."

I saw the preview for this episode. Jeff looks like Lapidus in a daredevil outfit. So, does that mean he needed to keep the beard and long hair for more LOST?
Welcome back from vacation clayseason1. Hope you had a grand time :)
JF has sported a beard and longer hair prior to lost. He has trimmed down the beard for LOST. He seems to be the kind of guy who can grow a beard quickly and fully. He has kept his Lost beard and longer hair also for a movie to be released in September entitled Matchmaker Mary (http://ls-trib.com/main.asp?SectionID=1&SubSectionID=1&ArticleID=966&TM=61098.73) as well as for Psych. I wonder if he will have it when he appears on Criminal Minds in October.
JF'b beard is really full. You can see in post 1 of the picture thread that Brian started. I like him with a beard. I like him without a beard. I just like him a lot and that has been a "like" that started in the early 80's. :)

It's his eyes Dew! Those eyes -- beard or no beard -- it's those eyes.
His eyes make me just :swoon: Yes I have been assimilated. ;) His eyes are the most mesmerizing orbs in the universe. IIRC Cuse agrees and said it in an interview when asked about bringing JF on board. I have always been a sucker for sky blue eyes. Probably because mine are the exact opposite, so jet brown they blend into my pupils.
This episode was great. JF was a daredevil ala Evel Knievel. He still looks fantabulous in jeans. :swoon: He was a wild man jumping on a table with a beer in his hand. :lmao: Still has his long hair however his beard is growing. It is much fuller than on LOST especially in moustache area. Loved it! I hope I don't wear out the DVD. :whistling

I am going to do my best. The last time I tried to watch Silverado, which I recorded from TV, VLC couldn't handle it. It kept over-flowing. I am going to attempt this today. While watching I thought of you, a lot. :pray1: for me to succeed.
I cannot believe I forgot to post this. There will be additional airings and one can always watch the full episodes at The Cleaner Video Page (http://www.aetv.com/the-cleaner/video/index.jsp). When an full episode is not available go to view clips. You can watch the entire episode if you choose clip part 1. Anyway here is the scoop.

William is devastated to realize that the needle belongs to his former sponsor and faces the difficult decision to cut the man out of his life. Benjamin Bratt stars
Jeff Fahey stars as William's friend Quinn
Neil Hopkins (Liam, Charlie's brother on LOST) stars as the drug addicted math professor who uses a LOST term in the opening scene. :)

Tuesday, August 12 @ 3am/2C
I am NOT going to forget to record this episode. I really like the show. :)
Enjoy.
I just had something confirmed. I told my friend that there was a Lawnmower Man reference in this episode. She said no. She owes me lunch :D
according to tv.com:
Shawn: And then he said, "Purple camel Lawnmower Man".
Referencing The Lawnmower Man (1992). Episode guest star Jeff Fahey starred as Jobe Smith, a mentally retarded lawnmower man. Gus and Shawn were walking to the garage when this line was spoken. :rofl1:
I recorded this last night. I still laugh when I hear Neil Hopkins, (Charlie's brother Liam on LOST) the math professor, talks about how he got interested in numbers. He then says "Numbers are my constant, my Tempest in the sea of my life." It rocked. :D

that is to cool that they gave a shout out to LOST!! Wonder if it was intentional or ad-libbed? I will have to watch tonight at 2 am.
There was a call out to Lawnmower Man on Psych's Episode Daredevils where JF played Dutch the Clutch. I think I posted it in the Psych thread here however the line was "purple camel lawnmower man". :rofl1:

Thank goodness for the Internet! :D This series has never been on TV over here and if it wasn't for this link, I'd have no chance to see it. Thanks again, Dew, I owe you a big one!
Here are a few of my favorite screencaps:

Even though I never watched the show, it was easy to get the gist of it from this one episode. That was yet another wonderful performance of Mr. Fahey, with only a few minutes on the screen, he totally stole the show.
One remark, though. Too bad in the end he turns out to be the bad guy. The cleaner of the cleaner would be a perfect character but that last scene... Oh, I mean, it was great acting. It's a shame it was poorly lit and the angle of the shots didn't show his face but the expression was there: in his voice, in his body language... amazing.
What I mean, however, is that the last line suggests this was his one and only appearance on that show, since he's not welcome anymore...

This show is brand new. The episode list is:
Pilot
Rag Dolls
Meet The Jonses
Chaos Theory
Remaining episodes to start broadcasting again August 19.
Here Comes the Boom
To Catch a Fed
House of Pain
11th hour
Rebecca
Back to One
Five Little words
So no wonder it hasn't been shown where you are yet. Brand new and you took the most wonderful pictures. :swoon:
Did you do caps from printscreen to photoshop/painshop pro? They are so crisp. I am truly amazed. :worshippy
One other thing I think is that the ending left open the possibility of a recurring role. William did promise he would do something for Quinn and he is a long time friend. :pray1:

This show is brand new.
Cool! That means it can still be here. OTOH, not much of Mr. Fahey's work has ever been bought and broadcast in Poland so I'm lucky to know English enough to be able to buy and watch the originals. :D Not to mention that a bad habit here is to have one person read all the dialogs, especially for VHS distribution. It's even worse than dubbing but, frankly, I hate both. I like Mr. Fahey's voice as well so, even if I caught something in Polish version, I still tried to get the original. Not to mention translation problems...
So no wonder it hasn't been shown where you are yet. Brand new and you took the most wonderful pictures. :swoon:
LOL! Hope I didn't give you a heart attack? Yup, I like them, too.
Did you do caps from printscreen to photoshop/painshop pro? They are so crisp. I am truly amazed. :worshippy
Thanks. Yeah, I sent you an email with some tips on what filters I use to make the pictures brighter and sharper, did you get it?

It'd be fun, such a character could develop in many different ways but somehow, I doubt it. Just a hunch, though, let's hope I'm wrong. :)
Heart attack?? No but Hormone attack oh yes and it was marvelous. ;)
I receive the e-mail and I am going to try the tips. My PS is 7 and there is no Smart Sharpen so I will play with the choices I have. My hands itch just thinking of new image tricks. :naughty:
As for recurring role that could mean 2 or 3 times a season even if it was a minor side role to the episode. We both can only hope.

Movie Review: Johnny 2.0
Written by Aaron Fleming
Published August 12, 2008
Coaxed gently out of its shell comes another film signed Jeff Fahey. Already the screams of hyperbole can be heard humming whimsy over the forgotten silence. The seconds sweep past bearing Fahey’s autograph, yawning into moments tailored to hold Fahey’s filmic image. His channels of cinematic hunger turned image are containers born to carry Fahey’s essence. Odourless and soundless, the vacuum has spilled into it coursing streams of artistry and erudition, malt froth bubbling insight, a wash of glistening texture.
From the kilns that mark his skin and drip through time on a carpet of wild blonde, films are given existence. The true, scientifically-verifiable nature of the process will never be fully known to us – Fahey discloses only through his art. The power of metaphor is the one tool we have to capture the process. To represent the genesis we must cast eyes into a lightless deep now alive in light, lit by blue flames that drive away the pitch past. The names differ upon each new notch pierced through the ether; this one calls itself Johnny 2.0.
It’s been said that snakes see in heat. Jeff Fahey sees in social commentary. His eye for topicality is clearly on show here and it bats admonitory lashes at both the few and the many. Never has Fahey had room for complacency – one time he met complacency for a drink but that was only because it promised him a part in a Stephen King miniseries. Complacency hangs not to Fahey, for it is the target for which he aims, one of the numberless targets that flee when the light of Fahey is turned on.
Fahey is Johnny Dalton, a scientist, who has perfected the technique of cloning. While celebrating the success of his research, industrial terrorists bust into his lab. They destroy equipment and set animals free, leaving the lab in flames. In the inevitable confrontation Fahey gets a whack on the head and is taken to receive medical treatment. Next thing, he wakes up twenty years thence. (The white walls are enough to know it’s the future – doubtless it won’t be until 2010 before some visionary finally invents those things.)
Fahey opens his eyes and meets the future. But it’s not Fahey, oh no, it’s a clone. His corporate paymasters have recreated him from the MRI scan he received after the knock on the head. So, poor Johnny Dalton died that night and it’s taken them two decades to complete his research and enable the cloning of a human being? Not quite. Dalton lived and continued his games with the double helix. The future not being too removed from the present, industrial terrorists are once again causing problems. They’ve kidnapped Fahey, leaving only one course of action for the company: build a new Fahey to find the old Fahey.
It’s an astoundingly brilliant scenario, one that’ll be appreciated by even those fools resistant to the charms of Fahey. Naysayers will crumble as the world of Johnny 2.0 flashes into view. A dystopia, swelling with Demolition Man jaggedness, where the nation state is no more, replaced by the corporations that run private police forces serving their needs, this is perfect terrain for Fahey the Second to find Fahey the First. Reluctance to the mission is soon dealt death as the sneaky money goons make it so Fahey cannot decline: a genetic defect in the clones means they die after a period of time, but Original Fahey has the solution to the problem. A race against time is what Cloned Fahey enters into, the motive foisted upon him unwillingly.
Best thing about this whole set up is Missing Fahey. Aged by many years, he wears a head of long silver hair with a beard similarly silver. His is the face of the hippy recluse, a character who should have starred in a Dennis Hopper film, who should have rode through America on the back of a Llama singing hymns to India. Fahey wore a hat in Ghost Rock, but his Johnny 2.0 guise, one of them, proves a new height in the field of Items that Fahey Wears on his Head. No amount of Stetsons can surpass the silver wizard hair that flows from atop Fahey’s skull.
In 1996, the first mammal was cloned. Her name was Dolly the Sheep. The news spread fast as media coverage was extensive. Discussion and debate raged, questions of ethics were raised, sheer curiosity mingled with uncertainty and hesitation. Fahey pondered this issue and then came out with Johnny 2.0 in 1998. Fahey’s conclusions, as suggested by the film, were that the power should not be in the hands of those bodies inclined to misuse it (big corporate powers), that lust for scientific exploration could potentially be supplanted by megalomaniacal urges for more power (and immortality), that clones should be the recipients of empathy (not gunfire), and that cloning should be a sacrosanct process functioning to assist the species (and not causing Fahey plot difficulties).
Fahey’s commenting eyes have winked words on technology and science in the past. The Lawnmower Man addressed virtual reality. Absolute Zero global warming. Scorpius Gigantus the manipulation of genetic materials. Fahey uses his art as implements with which to poke and prod the world, wealthy blue scrutinising the micro and the macro, the general and the particular. A vibrant web of meaning is created. Even his handle of choice provokes one into rumination: Dalton. The same Dalton who once graced the screen as James Bond? The Dalton of Licence to Kill, the finest film ever to emerge from the series? Perhaps. We don’t know. Fahey persists in always injecting some modicum of ambiguity into his work, just enough to stimulate our minds. Fahey’s grand matrix of commentary stretches far, one thing signifying another in an everlasting cluster of signification.
ohnny 2.0’s main gift to us is the multitude of Faheys. Two Faheys let loose to flame onscreen in dreamscapes turned real. The animosity of one Fahey towards another prompts a moment or two of Fighting Faheys. Fahey already fought his own limbs in Body Parts, but this is the first time he’s fought an entire self. It is truly as impressive as it sounds. And even after they form an uneasy truce, the tension between the two is enchanting. Fahey and his double – the double and his Fahey. The answerless question of autonomy is inscribed upon the fear of the double: am I the one or is it he? The singularity that defines the self is attacked by doubt in the dust of unsanctioned fragmentation. Bisected Fahey must make do with his own multiplicity, gain a new sense of identity and mourn his own lack of wizard locks.
Fahey’s journey in search of himself doesn’t consist of some lame Wild Strawberries-esque delving into the mind, a trip through memory and neuroses. Fahey has no time for that. His voyage of self-discovery has him set out to find his actual self, the man who has his face, his timbre of voice, his beaming blue, his mumbling lips of discourse – the man they call Jeff Fahey.
***Johnny 2.0 is a 1998 made for TV movie.***
Enjoy!

Awesome just absolutely awesome. :swoon:
I need to make 2 collages for another project. I am going to have to get serious with the Dummies book. I must read about blurring edges and transparencies and shapes for the pictures, like making the picture oval. Layers make it easier to do yet I must read and teach myself the finer points.

I am looking forward to seeing this! When I first read of it, I was thinking Jeff would be the lead character that gets set up with a woman, but, unfortunatly, it doesn't appear that way. Either way, it will be great to see him. :)
Yes and as I mentioned, it also left possibilities for a return visit. William still has to help Quinn. :D :naughty:

Exactly! I think he may very well return. After all, Quinn clearly played a large role in William's life - I can't see him being just a one-time character.
I can think of a few ways in which I'd like to help Quinn but they may not do much good except for me. :swoon:

He is asked if he will return and from the way he talks he isn't sure. He said, though, that he and the producers had built a close enough relationship that they wouldn't leave each other hanging (I guess he means they would call him if he isn't to return) but he said the way the show is written he could come back. Usually these interviews are conducted just after the season final, I think. This is the newest issue and you can buy it at most bookstores that sell magazines. :)
***makes note to check out Borders***
There are no other book or comic stores here. I doubt supermarket magazine racks have it but I will check tomorrow. Thanks.

I think so too. So far all the ones from the freighter seem to have something unfinished and so, if their story is to be told, I think Frank's would be too.
Plus....
I read that many of the flashbacks for the freighties had to be pushed back due to the writers' strike and will be done next season instead.
:yahoo:
'Tis a wonderful spoiler. :D
Yeah, magazine interviews are considered spoilerish so y'all can tag accordingly. The pictures/scans are fine, just place a warning above them so people know what they're clicking on.
Oh, welcome to the Jeff Fahey in the media thread. Feel free to post all interviews, articles, scans, etc from various media sources here.

I agree! It was released around the time of the season final, said by the producers, and yet so few people were talking about it! I was surprised!
Oh, and by the way, has anyone heard anything about Jeff maybe being up for a role in the new "Dark tower" film? The guys behind Lost have been put in charge of bringing the story of the book series to the screen and a lot of people have said Jeff would be perfect for the lead. Considering that the very people Jeff just worked for are in charge, I bet he will at least be considered!

If any of the people in charge of the film decide to even listen to what the fans are saying (considering its the Lost guys, I believe they will - they seem big on that kind of thing) they see Jeff's name mentioned everywhere the role. I soooooooo hope he gets at least some role in it!

Here's the transcript of the original article text for those who have trouble reading the scanned pages. It was fun to write. :D
To Be Frank
He was scheduled to be the pilot of Flight 815, but that fate became his friend's, Seth Norris. Still, Frank Lapidus quickly became part of the freighter crew and, more importantly, became intertwined with the fates of those who got off the island in season four's dramatic finale. Veteran actor, JEFF FEAHEY talks exclusively about his Lost experience…
Words: Tara Bennet
Carlton Cuse said they specifically called you to come in to talk about being on the show and they found you out there in Afghanistan! How did that call from Lost go down?
Well, it came in and they'd obviously got hold of my agents and management. They got my cell number and they asked if they could call me. They were wonderful over the phone, so I went to LA to talk to them. They were so kind and generous and very giving that I wanted to do the show. Then when I got [to Hawaii], I had such a wonderful time. Everyone from the crew to the production to the actors and directors, it was just a truly wonderful experience.
How did they pitch the character of Frank Lapidus to you? Was he very specific or more of a sketch?
They described the idea they had for the character, but I think the key in it was that they had discussed the idea that "we would develop the character with you." It's quite a give and take. The phrase they said was "that it's not going to be a suit off the rack: it's going to be tailor made."
You worked together with the crew team to shape Frank's character?
That was the beautiful relationship in this. They would write something and then I would try something and experiment on it a little more. All the directors, Stephen [Williams] and Jack and the writers have given me so much freedom to delicately develop. I didn't go wild.
We would just move forward in an interesting give-and-take way so I'd first feed off what they sent and then we would massage it and develop it. Then, each episode was how I would play it and they would expand on that. It's been a wonderful process.
I understand you'd never seen Lost before, so it must actually have been a truly brand new experience being immersed in the mythology of the show both as an actor and the character when he lands on the island…
It truly was that way, I'm still enjoying that I don't know [what's going on] because I can be part of the audience at the same time and yet be inside of it and know enough that I connect the dots where I have to, in a way, it's doing some of your creative homework for you.
Did you respond well to the nature of the show - which puts the actors in a place of not knowing the arc of their character or what to expect from script to script?
I really loved the idea that I didn't know. I still do. I enjoy not knowing. We live so much of our lives having to know things and here's a situation of a wonderful ride of telling a story. It's their thing - Damon and Carlton's - so they can take it anywhere and I'll roll with it. It's fine with me and if they don't want to tell me - that's cool, too.
Since you had a pretty clean slate to work with in crafting Frank, what traits did you want to apply to him so you had at least a little direction in how to play him?
We had an understanding that the intrigue in the process of not knowing is quite a freedom. It's not developed in stone. I wanted [Frank] to be worldly, but have a relaxed, engaging, and adventurous attitude. I just rolled with it.
Maybe 25 years ago, I think I would've sat down and really analyzed this character. Today, I give him space and roll with it. It really was like that with each episode, it would be interesting what they would write. Then I would take it in a certain direction or at least exercise that possibility. It all worked within the boundaries of the show and the creative vision of the directors and writers.
It was just an easygoing growth of the character and fitting in with the other people because you are always playing off each other. So a lot of things that developed in the character actually developed just in playing off the other characters.
How was it working with the new cast, like Rebecca Mader and Ken Leung?
They are all very fine actors and good people. We all certainly got along in that respect. I think I had one scene in the beginning with them and then never worked with them again!
And the original Lost cast? You spent a lot of time on screen with them…
Oh, beautiful! I just sort of bounced off everybody. I wanted to support the involvement but still maintain who I was. But I didn't want to come in as a blockbuster and try to change the existing rhythm.
Considering all of your roles in previous films and your international cultural projects, you're quite the world traveler. I assume you'd been to Hawaii before?
Yes, many times.
The show is filmed quite far from your actual home. Did you find this stressful?
No. everybody is so professional. It runs so well that, at this stage of my career, it was a gift, it's paradise… The only difficult thing, if at all, about the whole experience was that we had to break for hiatus. I can only speak for myself but there wasn't one difficulty otherwise.
Did you reside in Hawaii or fly to and from the island for your other projects?
O was able to get out and go back and forth a few times. When the strike happened, I was able to get a lot of work done. But for the last part of the season, I stayed right on the island because we had so much to do. But I enjoyed that I would go and do whatever I was doing and then go back to the island. It was wonderful to go off to this protected space where it was all about the work. It always felt like going home when I went back.
What surprised you most about Frank Lapidus' situation when you flipped through the scripts?
There's nothing that was a surprise because the whole ride was a surprise. When I see something new, I just know more and throw this angle on him and play it. But I think the one changing moment was the moment on the boat where Frank discovers that he's actually working for Charles Widmore.
Frank made it off the island with Penny and Desmond and now their existence has to remain a secret… How long do you think that will last?
Well, we'll see, won't we? I would love to come back.[The producers and I] have developed a very comfortable relationship about everything else that I do, so neither one of will keep each other hanging, as it were. There's certainly flexibility that will support everything they are doing with the show and that gives me freedom to do other things as far as my other work. I do look forward to what they have planned and the writing for next season.
The way they left things with Desmond and Frank going off with Penny in the boat adds a whole other element to the arc of the show and I am fascinated by that. I look forward to seeing what they are going to do with that. No one really knows. I'm sure the guys have an idea, but, by the same token, they will probably watch the finale and feel what the impact was like to determine how the arc of any of the characters will go. It's interesting that we are living inside this wonderful experiment. There's just a comfort and excitement and joy of doing a job where the intrigue and the unknown is a major part of it.
[B]Lost Recognition
JEFF FAHEY discusses what it's like having Lost fans call out to him on the street…
"I'm just beginning to experience that because when you are on the island you are somewhat isolated… But I feel that [change] every day now. It's wonderful, because they are relating to the character. I love it when someone says, "Hey Frank! How are ya doing?" It's like they feel they know you. When they walk by they say, "Hey Frank, where's the helicopter?" It changes like that and it's quite fascinating."

Aww, don't worry, Dew, I think they archive most of these shows, so you'll be able to listen to it later. I also doubt Jeff will be in it much, they have quite a few guests. If I find it archived, I will let you know. :)
Thank you so very much. It is one thing to watch him act however it is totally different to hear him speak candidly with no restrictions. Just being himself. I hope you are correct about the archive. :pray1:
Dew, this is probably a really stupid question, but is there anyone you can ask to record it for you ? But I think the archives are probably your best bet.
I agree about radio interviews - because you can't see them you concentrate on the voice and you find out so much more about the person, without being distracted by the eyes !
Yep ozanna exactly. I am having trouble getting someone to record Criminal Minds on Oct 8. JF is that episode. :O Psych then The Cleaner now Criminal Minds. I am setting my DVD recorder for 2 movies while I am away however my friend is nervous about messing with my recorder. I told her it will be programmed just take out one disc, put in the 2nd disc, change the channel on the cable box and that is it. Then I could get the show + 2 movies. If it is meant to be then it will be. :)
Good luck, Dew. If I wasn't so far away I'd do it for you ! But I haven't plugged up all the holes in the boat for the Hawaii trip yet !

I can get it from you when I get home. Thnx a bunch. :)

Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs Leads Members of the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council to Afghanistan
Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky traveled to Afghanistan November 19-20, to hold formal discussions with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Afghan Foreign Minister Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta, and Afghan Minister of Women’s Affairs Dr. Hosni Banu Ghazanfar concerning the transition of the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council to its permanent home at Georgetown University.
First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush announced the formal partnership between the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council and Georgetown University in December 2006.
Traveling with Under Secretary Dobriansky was a delegation of distinguished Americans from the private sector and philanthropy: Dr. Phyllis Magrab, Director of the Center for Child and Human Development at Georgetown University, Jeff Fahey, philanthropist and actor, Tim McBride, Co-chair of the Ayenda Foundation, and Shamim Jawad, wife of the Afghan Ambassador and Co-chair of the Ayenda Foundation.
The Council, which meets in Washington, DC and Kabul every year, was created by President Bush and Afghan President Hamid Karzai in 2002. Its mission is to help empower Afghan women to play a critical role in the reconstruction of their nation. The Council promotes public/private partnerships between U.S. and Afghan institutions and mobilizes private resources to help Afghan women gain the skills and education they need to improve their status and economic well-being. It also seeks to improve women’s access to health care and reduce the adult illiteracy that impedes Afghan women’s progress.
In Afghanistan, the Council also traveled to Bamiyan Province to visit a number of Council-sponsored projects assisting Afghan women and children.

Enjoy!
Here is some more information about Hired Guns. JF is in this film and plays the part of Ace High Caulder.
This film will be done in the same fashion as A Scanner Darkly (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405296/), a Keanu Reeves film. This film style seems to be a cross between Sin City (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401792/) and 300 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416449/) regarding film style. It will be shot using a Red Camera. I don't know much about photography but I liked the 3 movies I mentioned.
Here is the official website for http://www.sixgunspaghetti.com/ the movie Hired Guns.

Apparently There Really Is an 'Easy Rider' Sequel Coming
by Eric D. Snider May 19th 2009 // 3:02PM
Filed under: Independent, New Releases, Remakes and Sequels
People have been talking about a possible sequel to Easy Rider for decades, but no one ever took it seriously. It seemed like one of those hilarious fake ideas you come up with, like a musical version of Saw III, or an all-midget version of Hoosiers. In fact, in the 1980s, Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda kept talking about doing a sequel set in the future, with the original characters being brought back to life and going on a road trip through post-apocalyptic America. As recently as 2002, a different sequel, called Easy Rider A.D., was about to begin production ... and then never did.
But now it looks like an actual sequel has actually been produced -- with no involvement from the people who made the seminal 1969 classic, and featuring none of the same characters (for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who has seen the original -- although they managed to make a sequel to The Blair Witch Project, didn't they?). The sequel, called Easy Rider: The Ride Back, is an independent film set for a small theatrical opening in September, and some of the cast and crew were in Cannes last week for a photo opportunity, which is how we caught wind of the film's existence. (In the photo are Phil Pitzer, who produced, co-wrote, and stars in the film -- and who bears a resemblance to Peter Fonda -- and Sheree J. Wilson, a cast member of TV's Dallas and Walker, Texas Ranger who co-stars.)
It apparently has nothing to do with any of the previous sequel ideas that floated around Hollywood, but instead focuses on the Peter Fonda character's brother, who followed in his sibling's footsteps and rides the same patriotically decorated Harley Davidson motorcycle.
This brother and a buddy of his called Wes Coast "embark upon an adventure that will force them to confront the past in order to make reparations with the present," according to the press release I dug up. The press release also says the film covers the family's trials and tribulations through the 1940s, '50s, '60s, and up to the present day.
This sounds awfully ambitious for an indie film that's been in the works for the better part of a decade, but there you go. The working title was Scarlet Cross -- that's how it's still listed at the Internet Movie Database -- and here's an article from the Springfield (Ohio) News-Sun from August 2007 talking about scenes being shot locally. The article says that Phil Pitzer had already been working on the film for 3 1/2 years at that point; here's another one from the San Francisco Chronicle in March 2005 that details some of the legal wrangling Pitzer had to go through to secure the sequel rights.
So whether it seems like a good idea or not, there is indeed a sequel to Easy Rider, and it will apparently appear in at least a handful of theaters in the fall. What do you think? Do you have any interest in seeing it? Will a love of motorcycles and Steppenwolf music be enough to bring in audiences? More to the point, has anyone who goes to movies in 2009 even heard of Easy Rider?

Confirmed: Easy Rider Sequel Coming In September

I think I was one of the very first to post this information {link}, apart from a one-liner on another site. The success cult biker movie, Easy Rider, is going to have a sequel. I was wrong about the status, thinking that the producers were looking for money to make the movie. The crew were at the Cannes Film Festival to drum up attention for the movie, since it's going to hit the theaters in the USA in September!
The Easy Rider sequel (or probably more a prequel) will be called "Easy Rider: The Ride Back" (code name: Scarlet Cross). Someone from the movie left that information in the article's comments section (thanks whoever you were), and now, slowly, information is filtering on the movie blog sites.
As you'd expect, none of the original characters are in the movie, since they all died at the end of the movie. The independent producers are releasing the movie in September in the USA (no dates for European or Asian releases). No big name stars are in the movie, but then when the original came out, neither were Hopper, Fonda and Nicholson. And look what a hit that movie became...
The story centers around Peter Fonda's character (Wyatt) brother, who follows his brother's footsteps, and goes riding around the USA in a similar Harley chopper. With his buddy, Wes Coast, they are confronted with the past. So if it's a prequel, the brother goes first, if it's a sequel, the brother goes after the original movie ride.
Personally, I'm thrilled. Easy Rider was a cult movie, and 40 years later, having another motorcycle movie is just prefect. Since the producers were smart enough not to re-live the main characters by using some strange scenario, but instead made a script that's believable, this movie should work even for those who haven't seen the original movie (do they exist?).

40 years later after it changed the world
By Jeffrey Jolson
Dennis Jack Nicholson and Peter
Dennis Jack Nicholson and Peter
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 9/12/09 - There are very few films that define a generation. “Easy Rider” was one, even though it was a terrible movie.
This writer saw the original and it changed his life.
Now a sequel of sorts has emerged, though Dennis Hopper is neither director, nor Peter Fonda not the star. Yet moves must be made to clear the way for the new fans.
Yet as flawed as Hopper’s first film was, it was an appropriate fast ride through our youth. We all wanted to become outlaws, till we saw the final scene.
Now there is new one, with new actors.
One of the world’s quintessential cult film classics is roaring back onto the big screen. The long-awaited sequel/prequel EASY RIDER: THE RIDE BACK is ready to go on the road and slated to hold sneak peek screenings in select cities starting in October 2009.
The script, penned by newcomers Dustin Rikert and Phil Pitzer, shows through flashbacks how the original famed characters became classic icons of a generation. The film attached Sheree J. Wilson of the hit show WALKER, TEXAS RANGER, DALLAS to co-produce and star in the film, along side new young Hollywood hot breakout stars like Y&R Heartthrob, Chris Engen and Jerry Bruckheimer’s THE FORGOTTEN’S Michelle Borth. Also featured is GRINDHOUSE, LOST star Jeff Fahey, ANGELS & DEMONS’ Rance Howard, and THE PROPOSAL’s Michael Nouri and newcomer Thomas Blakenship.
Produced by Pan America Pictures, the film has been creating buzz all over world from the Cannes Film Festival to the National Bike Festival Circuit at full throttle. Bringing the thrill of the open road back, EASY RIDER: THE RIDE BACK will be holding its first sneak peak and “road carpet” special screening in Las Vegas Oct. 1, 2009 at the Palms Hotel. National roll out will follow with distribution details to be announced. And of course, a killer soundtrack.
Almost 40 years ago Easy Rider captured America’s imagination as a counterculture film that explored an era and it’s trials and tribulations. Now, Part sequel, part prequel, EASY RIDER: THE RIDE BACK delves into the family lineage of Wyatt “Captain America” Williams (played in the original by Peter Fonda) and the families trials and tribulations throughout the decades of the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s to present day. Juxt-a-posed against the families love affair with motorcycles, the film delves into issues of love, War, honor, and redemption, while keeping true to the spirit of the original film: the iconic “Buddy Ride” and the idea of a continuing search for freedom in an America that is struggling to find its identity.

Oh wow, Dew, JF will be awesome in that movie. That will be one for the top of my list.
Now, totally Off Topic but I can't resist, Dennis Hopper was over here a while ago making a movie which I can't remember the title of but it took place in the outback, where the Crew gave him the name of Grass Hopper ! :whistling2:
Can't think why ! :rotfl:
I can think of why. He probably smoked "grass". :lmao:
You reckon ! :Hippy: The Aussie crew used to give him heaps - actually I think he really enjoyed making that movie - "Mad Dog Morgan", who was a bush ranger. :D
I had the TV on this morning for company, and guess who crops up in the mid-day movie - JF in "Frederic Forsythe's Icon". Its amazing what manifests itself on daytime TV !
Ah Icon. Fabulous movie. Patrick Swayze had the lead and JF was a sleaze. lol
I have been catching lots of JF films during the day. I have the DVDs but I still watch when they are on :tv: :swoon:
I think we'll be seeing a few Patrick Swayze movies for a while - "Roadhouse" ! Bring it on ! I love seeing JF in his older movies, but then I miss the beard ! Blue eyes still looking good !

We see "Road House" rerunning here all the time, but I believe that's because it qualifies as "Canadian Content" due to the Jeff Healey music.
Don't see a lot of JF movies though, so I envy Dew's DVD collection.
UPDATING and REPLACING -- Fantastic Films International Signs Eldorado As First
Live Action 3D Film of Multi-Picture Deal With House of Fear
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 1, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In a press release issued
yesterday by Fantastic Films International under the same headline, please note
that the phone number in the contact information was incorrect. The updated
release follows:
Los Angeles based, Fantastic Films International (FFI), headed by Roxane Barbat
and Fred deWysocki, is proud to announce that a multi-picture worldwide
distribution has been signed with House of Fear, a United Kingdom based company
founded by Richard Driscoll.
The first film of this multi-picture deal is a feature titled ELDORADO.
Currently in post-production, ELDORADO is an exciting live action, stereoscopic
3D, star-filled film and is the first ever British movie to be shot in 3D.
Starring Daryl Hannah, David Carradine (in his last film), Michael Madsen, Steve
Guttenberg, Brigitte Nielsen, Jeff Fahey, Patrick Bergin, Bill Moseley and
Sylvester McCoy. FFI plans to introduce this feature to buyers at AFM in
November where they will screen early footage in 3D.
ELDORADO is a comedy/horror/musical/road movie. After wrongly being sent to a
Neo Nazi fund raiser instead of the stripper, Blues Brothers tribute band 'The
Jews Brothers', Stan and Ollie get offered a gig in the city Eldorado to make
amends for a gig gone sour. At the same time, Jessica, a beautiful but
despondent wife, is on the run with a million dollars from her cheating
husband's night club. All roads lead to Eldorado, where these lives intersect,
while a bigger power is controlling the action to make their visit to this town
one they will never forget. It's Eldorado's 200th anniversary, the townsfolk are
hungry to celebrate, which does prove unfortunate to the tourists who come to
visit only to find that they are the dish of the day. A parody of films
including "The Blues Brothers", "Sweeney Todd" and "Little Shop of Horrors,"
"Eldorado" is more than just bad table manners and a little light music, it
becomes a way of life.
House of Fear is in pre-production on two other live action 3D films that are
part of the multi-picture deal, "WOLFMAN in 3D" and a comic book fantasy
"WATCHMEN OF HELLGATE".
FFI is passionately committed to selecting and promoting only films that are a
unique combination of movie magic elements, while creating a universal story.
Fred deWysocki states, "We are very pleased with this multi-picture worldwide
distribution deal with Richard Driscoll and House of Fear. Currently there is a
great demand for live action 3D movies and we are very impressed with the
quality, vision and value of Richard's features."
FFI executive produces and distributes quality, independent films
internationally. The "Fantastic Films" brand ensures independent excellence to
our international buyers.
House of Fear was designed to be a self contained studio in the style of the old
Hollywood studio system, handling all aspects of film production. They are the
first British production company since Hammer Films to be active in so many
areas.

Stop the Human Warehousing of Refugees: Actor/Advocate, Diplomat, & International Refugee NGO to Capitol Hill for Rights of Forgotten Refugees
WHAT:
"LOST" cast member and international advocate Jeff Fahey, the U.S. Committee for Refugees & Immigrants (USCRI), and former U.S. Ambassador Michael Ussery will host a press conference appealing for respect and action to enforce the basic rights on millions of refugees warehoused around the world -- from Thailand to Tindouf, Algeria. The 1951 Refugee Convention spells out the rights of refugees to live normal lives -- including the rights to work, practice professions, run businesses, own property, move about freely, and choose their place of residence. But more than 8 million of nearly 14 million refugees in the world are denied these rights in situations lasting 10 years or more. Instead, they are "warehoused" -- confined to camps or segregated settlements, or struggling in urban areas without legal rights and forced to subsist on international humanitarian aid, often for generations.
It doesn't have to be this way.

Jeff Fahey and USCRI Ask Congress to End Refugee Warehousing
Posted on: Thursday, 29 October 2009, 15:55 CDT
New USCRI report, "Stonewalling on Refugee Rights," documents Sahrawi refugee rights abuse in Algeria
WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "Being a refugee shouldn't be a life sentence -- but that's exactly what it's become for millions of refugees who have been confined to camps and denied their freedom, some for 30 years," said LOST cast member & international advocate Jeff Fahey. On Tuesday he went to Capitol Hill with the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) and former US Ambassador Michael Ussery to meet Members of Congress and the press to urge an end to the inhumane practice of warehousing refugees. Of nearly 14 million refugees worldwide, 8.5 million have been warehoused and denied their basic rights for a decade or more despite guarantees in the 1951 Refugee Convention -- which include the right to move about freely, work, receive documentation, and choose a place of residence.

Some Machete movie news.
Machete set for April 2010 release date
October 10, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
According to IMDB, the ”brutal rampage of revenge” movie Machete is set for a April 16, 2010 release.
Machete is the feature-length version of the fake trailer by Robert Rodriguez that originally appeared in Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse.
Machete will star Danny Trejo as Machete, a renegade former Mexican Federale who attempts to assassinate McLaughlin (Robert De Niro), a corrupt senator, but then gets shot himself. Although hurt, he goes on the run after Benz (Jeff Fahey) the one who double-crossed him; this is when the “brutal rampage of revenge” takes place.
Lindsay Lohan has a small role in the movie as April, described s a “socialite with a penchant for guns.” Lindsay traveled to Austin for two days in mid-September to film scenes for Machete.
Others in the movie include Michelle Rodriguez, Cheech Marin, Jesica Alba, Rose McGowan, Steven Seagal and Don Johnson.
Sony recently purchased the distribution rights to the movie.

Lost’ actor lobbies
By Christina Wilkie - 10/28/09 06:23 PM ET
He’s a pilot in the hit TV adventure series “Lost,” and now he’s helping out in a real-life drama. On Tuesday, Jeff Fahey gave a presentation before the Congressional Refugee Caucus, which includes his old friend, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.).
The closed event was hosted by co-chairmen Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) and Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), and it marked the first time Fahey had ever visited Capitol Hill to lobby. His goal is to increase pressure on the United Nations to grant basic rights to refugees, many of whom are trapped in camps for generations because they lack rights from either their country of origin or their adopted homes.
Fahey was humble, telling ITK, “I don’t have the answers.” He was surprised that many members of Congress care about his cause, even though “their plate is full” with healthcare reform and the war in Afghanistan.
Asked whether he considers himself a member of a political party, Fahey said: “What do I consider myself? I consider myself lucky.”

Awesome, Dew. Its great to see someone get off their bum and actually do something. If he gets time maybe he could pop over to Australia and give us a hand to get our act together and help these poor unfortunate people to find a home as well ! I keep thinking that there must be a way. If these boat people are prepared to put their lives, and the lives of their precious children at risk surely we, who live a life of privilege on the whole, can do a little something to help them. Our government squabbles like spoilt children. Meanwhile another boat from Sri Lanka has sunk and many have perished - all in the name of trying to give their children a decent life.
Indonesia is also being pressured to take more refugees, but they have problems of their own with natural disasters, earthquakes and floods and so on.
So kudos to you Jeff Fahey, and I hope he manages to inspire some of these people who hang around the red carpets and are pretty much no bloody use to anyone, to actually do something useful for anyone except themselves.
Yes. The 2 videos really send the message home. He may not be an A-List actor but he is a humanitarian. He has done a lot in Afghanistan and has build orphanages in South America. I very much respect him and other "working" actors.
They are the
first British production company since Hammer Films to be active in so many
areas.

BIG MISTAKE! He should have checked out this guy. Driscoll has a [snip] rep. Have a look at this. http://mjsimpson.123guestbook.com/ and http://www.mjsimpson.co.uk/reviews/kannibal.html Career killer? This Driscoll dude's not fit to mow his lawn. The word conman seems to be used a lot in relation to him.
And your point is???? Oh, you disagree with this review but prefer the review of M.J. Simpson. Is that it? If JF is in the film, then we are interested. :)
I did check your links and found the trailer info. Thanks and :welcome:
I went to Fantastic Films International's website (http://www.fantasticfilmsinternational.com/index.html) and clicked on the link New Titles. It took me to a page with various films. Matchmaker Mary was in the list. From there I chose ELDORADO (United Kingdom, Live action 3D, POST-PRODUCTION). There is a synopsis and a trailer. I laughed a lot. I really want to see this. I love funny stuff. JF is hysterical.

LOST Actor on W.H.'s SOTU
"Lost" fans breathed a huge sigh of relief when the White House recently reassured them that President Barack Obama would not hold his State of the Union address on Feb. 2, the night the hit ABC show is set to air its season premiere.
So, when "Lost" actor Jeff Fahey (aka "Frank Lapidus") swung through D.C. Tuesday, we had to get his thoughts on the show’s intersection with the highest office in the land.
Fahey said when he heard of the White House's comments on the show's season premiere, "I thought, my God, how wild and absurd.”
"I'm amused and fascinated by the whole process,” said Fahey, adding that he was amazed to see that the White House seemingly weighed "Lost" into its State of the Union scheduling.
But perhaps it’s just smart politics: Fahey says "Lost" may get 20 million viewers on Feb. 2.
Fahey was in D.C. on the heels of a trip to the Western Sahara with U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants President Lavinia Limon, where they met with recent escapees from the Polisario-controlled refugee camps in western Algeria. Fahey is encouraging the world community to provide help and relief in the situation.
"It's time for us to help these refugees," said Fahey. "It breaks my heart every time I go back. ... We can try to find a way to support the [United Nations Refugee Agency] to get in there and take a census."
Watch the video below for more of Fahey's take on the situation in the Western Sahara.
I just received this and what contrast from JF's sentiments and how he was written up by a Moroccan newspaper. Boggles my mind. How do you interpret this article?

US actor 'impressed' by development in Morocco's Southern provinces
Washington - "LOST" cast member and international advocate Jeff Fahey highlighted, here Tuesday, the "impressing" development achieved in Morocco's Southern provinces, the Sahara.
"I have gone around the world and seen areas but the development I have seen in the Sahara is just completely impressive," US actor Fahey told MAP, while commending the "healthy proud feeling prevailing in the region."
"I am glad to see that Morocco's Southern provinces have the necessary infrastructure to accommodate all those who are held in the camps of Tindouf, southwestern Algeria," he said, stressing that "it is very hard to miss the beauty, the development and the opportunities offered to the residents" of this part of Morocco.
Mr. Fahey, who recently returned from his fourth trip to Morocco's Southern provinces, wondered "who would not want to go from a camp in the middle of the desert anywhere in the world to a developed region that has housing, education and the opportunity to work and grow for the individual."
In a comment on this trip, Fahey said he was moved by the stories told by "those who managed to flee the camps (of Tindouf) and return to Morocco," adding that he was able to feel their pain as well as the hopes they pin on the international community to make sure their relatives, who are still held in the camps, finally return home.
The US actor welcomed the Obama administration's stand on Morocco's initiative to grant broad autonomy to its Southern provinces under the kingdom's sovereignty, which the United States described as "serious" and "credible."
"I support the policy that started with President Clinton and that was followed and supported by the Bush administration and is now supported by the Obama administration,” he went on.
More info on the Western Sahara. There is a really good promo picture of Frank for S6. I have to figure a way to obtain and enlarge it without messing up the resolution. In the meantime, you can see it at the link below. Enjoy!

Talking with 'Lost's' Jeff Fahey: part 2
Source (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/celebritology/2010/01/talking_with_losts_jeff_fahey.html)
Jeff Fahey in a promo shot for 'Lost's' sixth season. (ABC)
Here at Celebritology, Liz and I take our star-gazing, movie fandom and "Lost"-watching very seriously. But even we know that, as the recent devastation in Haiti demonstrates, important international issues often (and should) take precedence over the latest gossipy whispers about Tiger Woods or the Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien debacle.
Our recent interview with Jeff Fahey, the video portion of which we shared yesterday, was a reminder of that. In addition to starring in films like "Silverado" and "The Lawnmower Man" -- not to mention trying to figure out what lies in the shadow of the statue in his role on "Lost" -- Fahey has long devoted much of his time to assisting individuals and organizations in post-conflict areas, particularly Afghanistan. In more recent months, he has added another issue to his plate: the rights of Sahwari refugees forced to live for decades in camps in Algeria's Tindouf Province.
Fahey was in Washington this week, having just returned from a visit to Morocco to meet with aid workers and a few refugees who have escaped from the camps, which have existed since Spain withdrew from the Western Sahara in the mid-1970s. It's his fourth time visiting the region during the past six months.
"You look at the news every day and there's so much going on," Fahey says. "But these people have been in these [Algerian] camps for 35 years. Maybe it's time that they got a little more assistance."
Fahey and Lavinia Limon -- the president and CEO of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, with whom Fahey has worked on this issue -- say that the individuals living in the camps do not have the option to leave, even though the Moroccan government is willing to take in the refugees and provide assistance that will allow them to live and work in more suitable conditions.
Fahey, who officially becomes a series regular on "Lost" in its upcoming sixth and final season, says he's particularly appreciative that the show's producers have allowed him to do all the traveling required to stay involved with what's happening in Algeria and continue his other humanitarian work. After being away from the set in Hawaii for a couple of weeks to take this most recent trip, Fahey was preparing to head back and resume shooting this Friday. (And no, he couldn't tell us what would happen in the episode he was about to dive into; he hadn't even seen the script yet.)
The Hollywood vet -- who also can be spotted in the upcoming "Machete," Robert Rodriguez's action flick, based on his tongue-in-cheek "Grindhouse" trailer, that stars Fahey, Robert De Niro, Lindsay Lohan, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba and (not joking) Steven Seagal -- is aware of the fine line he walks as an actor supporting a cause. He doesn't want to come across as that famous guy forcing social consciousness on an unsuspecting public.
"I feel very fortunate to have the job I have, but that's not why I'm doing this," Fahey says. "I've been out in the world for many years. When someone speaks up on an issue like this, there's the possibility of people saying, 'Oh man, here comes another Hollywood cat' -- and God bless those cats, however they do it -- but we have to try to [advocate for our cause] in a way where it doesn't turn the audience off."
So, audience, assuming you're not turned off, what can you do about any of this? Limon says people can learn more about the issue by visiting her organization's Web site, www.refugees.org, and by urging their members of Congress, senators, Secretary of State Clinton and President Obama to take policy steps that will emancipate the Sahwarin refugees from the camps.
"I don't blame anyone for not knowing the story," Fahey says. "I didn't know the story until six or seven months ago. But once you do know the story, you have to do something."

That Jeff Fahey is a cool dude!
I really am gonna think differently when I hear some jazz. As a matter of fact, I am going to put a jazz CD in the PC and chill out. :cloud9:
Spotted taking in the Middle East Institute’s “The Western Sahara Crisis” panel discussion at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill: “Lost” actor Jeff Fahey.
Fahey — most recently seen in the film ''Grindhouse''— attended the event, so we hear, to educate himself about the crisis and the refugee camps in desert region. Fahey has been to Morocco and the Western Sahara half a dozen times.
