Anyone can enter just by posting in this thread.

You have until the witching hour on October 24th to enter your page!

At that time, we close the contest!

We'll open polls the following day, so everyone can vote for his or her favorite profile page.

The polls will remain open until October 30th at 6:00 PM central time.

The top three -- yes 3! -- vote getters will be awarded:

1. Personal Message Storage for 250 messages!
That's 250 messages!

2. A Halloween Profile Winner Award sig, created by

hmmm... That's a good question.

If someone did a page theme of the mummy, I would equate that with Halloween as most of the traditional "monsters" and wouldn't even question whether it was a "Halloween" theme or not. I don't think I would put Dexter in that category yet. I think you would need to include some other halloween graphic -- like a evil looking pumpkin or something else ghoulish that would pull into that theme. Not that a Dexter only page wouldn't qualify to enter the contest -- I just don't know if people would vote for it or not.


eta: Let me try and clarify a little more. Everyone can enter any page they think would fit in with Halloween.
From a voter's standpoint, if I saw page on vampires -- no mention of Halloween, I would still equate that with a Halloween theme -- just because we think of ghouls, witches etc in the context of Halloween.
From a voter's standpoint, if I saw a page on Hannibal Lecter (although a monster) I wouldn't equate that with Halloween. However, if that same page showed Hannibal holding a platter of feet and the blurb: Trick or Treat -- Smell my feet -- then I think that would probably get a vote from me.

There is actually a graphic of that out there. I came across it yesterday and was :rotfl: at it. I had to do a double take when I saw it posted here to see which one CS1 had posted. I would find it and post it here but am not how well it would go over.

I just wanna let a few well-meanin' folks know I've been extremely busy with RW stuff, but I finally started the process of gettin' my prof ready for the contest. I've got the idea laid out on paper. However, I'm still goin' through a few things to make sure I'm able to implement my ideas before goin' full steam ahead. It might be another day, or another week, before everything comes together.

Before a riot breaks out in here, let me tell you that the person in question did post before the deadline. The problem is that their post did not make it clear whether or not they were actually entering, and we'd like to make sure before ruling them out. I'm sure all of you would want to be treated that way in similar circumstances.

The profile is already Halloween themed. I was ready to go with the poll and then going through the thread I saw I had missed two people that definitely wanted to be in the contest. So I updated the first post and doublechecked. This poster I'm waiting on may or may not have intended to join in -- I'm not sure. Let's give that poster a few hours to check in and answer my pm. We have plenty of time to vote -- I'm as anxious as you are to get the poll started.
