View Full Version : Locke's knives

I wasn't as huge a fan as I am now when the show started. So I missed some stuff I guess. This may have been explained and might be nothing at all, but I'm just wondering. Where did Locke get his knives? This is post 9/11 of course, so he didn't have them with him on the plane where he was sitting. So, did he find his bag of luggage and they were in there and I just missed that? Did he find them somewhere else on the plane? Or someone else's luggage? Or what exactly? Thanks for any info and filling in.

Hi killag8,

I guess I'll be the welcome wagon, so greetings and I hope you like this site as much as I do.

To answer your questions briefly:

a) Locke states that he checked his knives.
b) Locke finding the knives is not shown, but I assume they were in the cargo hold.

Welcome, killag!

As Coyote said, the audience didn't see Locke search for his luggage nor find it, but we did see him opening a metal case full of knives, which he claimed was his. When asked, he answered that he had checked the case. The interesting thing in that exchange is that no one asks him why he's traveling with a case full of knives.

As an interesting aside, that case looks exactly like the one Kate and Sawyer find in the pond some episodes later, so I'm assuming Locke's case is also a Halliburton case.

I thought Locke's case was more box-like, like a mini-steamer trunk, at least twice as deep, with reinforced corners.

Anyone into knives? What kind does he have with him?

I think he handed Sayid a classic american buck knife and he has a small folding gerber clipped to his upper vest pocket.

The big bowie knife that he was letting walt play with looks like a nice toy... Anyone know who made the knives for Locke?

I also noticed that the French chic has a KhuKuri (GURKA knife).

Good luck identifying them. Unlike firearms there are probably thousands of manufacturers and hundreds of models made by each.

The best picture I've seen is here (http://www.lost-media.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=22&pos=134). I think the one on the far left is a k-bar (or ka-bar or kabar, link here (http://www.galatiinternational.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=GIO&Product_Code=KB1217&Category_Code=KabarFixedBlades), and here (http://www.allamericangifts.com/Products/knifeproducts/KABKmarines.htm) also), the one next to it looks to be some sort of scuba diver's knife.

Anyway, here's a good place to start a search: www.knifesearch.com (http://www.knifesearch.com/)

Update, the third from the left is a United Cutlery Shoulder Sentry ST.

Thanks for the picture. Definately a kbar with a serated blade. If it were me I'd have a small axe and folding saw and two or 3 knives but knives make better TV than tools.

I wonder if the big bowie he uses (missing in the shot) is a custom knife. I'm sure there is a credit somewhere about the big knife.

Locke has a Spyderco knife clipped to his vest. You see that one all the time. That is on the left side of the vest.
I actually own that knife and had it for many years before he did. It is a GREAT one hand opener for quick action and with the serrated edge it will cut thru lots and lots of things that other small knives may bulk at.

Let me introduce myself. I am a knife geek. Um. Yes, I carry, sell and love knives. I actually work for a retail store that sells knives so when his box opened my eyes were glued to the tv trying to see how many I could identify and what kinds he had.

Locke had a box full of knives and when I spoke to some friends at work that were also LOST fans, we couldnt figure out why he would want so many of them. If he was doing the Walkabout he may need at the most 2-3 different styles. But a whole case full - no way. The only thing we could think of was that he was going to trade them for something else.
A lot of the knives he had were cheapo buy them on tv late at night with sad handles and not so great steel that wouldnt hold up to the tropics. I don't know what he was doing with the suitcase full of knives, but I don't think it was just for the Walkabout. Or it if it was, some writer somewhere dropped the ball.

Another thing about his knives was the size. They are all really big. Except for his Spyderco. The knife that he had Walt throwing was WAY too big for Walt and he should be learning on a smaller knife and working his way up to a bigger knife and weight.

I would like to learn more about what he is using - I am trying to gather pics but my tv/vcr doesnt allow this. If you have any more pics to share, I would love to see them to be able to learn what he has.

thanks!

okay, I clicked on the pics a couple posts up and saw the one that had the six in a row with the one big one missing. But wasn't there more knives then this? oh well. I am taking this page to work tomorrow and checking some catalogs.
As been identified, the one on the far right looks like a Buck Nighthawk and the one on the far left looks like a Kabar which is a Marine Corp issue knife. The four in the middle one looks like a diving knife, one looks like a $20. tatical knife (black with finger guards) and the other two look like you could get them from United Cutlery or Frost or go to Smokey Mountain.com for their online catalog.
The more I look at the more I shake my head at Locke.

LostInWilderness
03-28-05, 05:08 AM
Either they've redesigned the Kabar or Locke's is a knock-off. My Kabar has a non-reflective blade, and there are no notches or serrations in the blade. Also, Locke's blade looks too wide right before the tip, but that may be an optical illusion.

I think the Kabar and Spiderco would be great for walkabout. Walkabout is a spiritual journey, so I think I'd stay away from any sophisticated survival knife. I seriously doubt Locke was planning to haul that case around on walkabout, so there's got to be some other explanation for it. I wonder if he knows why he brought them.

Coyote1066
03-28-05, 05:23 AM
There's actually a company called Kabar which makes many variations of the classic kabar. here (http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_store.html?ttl=Ka%20Bar%20Products&srch=eqCATE%20CODEdatarq%3DKA%26eqWWWCAT_1datarq%3 Dfixed%26eqWWWCAT_2datarq%3Dcombat)

betts4,

I mentioning the UC knife above...here's a pic: Sentry Shoulder (http://www.ndsproducts.com/united.html)...it's about 1/3 of the way down the page.

My guess is that the knives taken individually aren't clues, but as a whole, like you mentioned, they suggest something about Locke and what his intentions may have been on his trip. I think that in reality someone from the props crew probably just went to a local pawn shop and picked out the biggest "Crocodile Dundee-ish" knives they could find.

betts4
03-29-05, 01:50 AM
Heck, the prop guy just could have gone thru the UC unline catalog and picked all those out. Good catch Coyote!

Good knives are meant to split hairs. ;)

IMO Coyote1066, you are saying that some company is producing what I call knock-offs of "The Kabar." Thanks for the info.

Maybe I put too much faith in the writers, but I think "Island Locke" would have the perfect knives for walkabout. No more and no less. Pre-island Locke, had a different motive. I don't know what it was, but I sincerely doubt this was a mistake by the writers, and I don't understand it. Maybe this is an example of the island exerting it's influence across space and time.

Actually, the Ka-bar is THE Marine corp knife. The one that is a Marine corp issue. And there are NOW a few variations of the one that went into WWwar in 1942 (?).

The company that coyote is showing you is not a knock off of them but is selling them online.

And there is a company that has built up basically around that original knife - they took the knife name Ka-Bar and made it into a small knife company that kept getting bigger and they carry about 15-20 knives. We carry maybe 3 of them at our stores.

We also used to sell one that didnt have the non reflective finish - but it didnt have the serrations at the bottom either, so I still am not positive that what Locke has is a Ka-Bar. But I wouldnt be surprised to find out it was if he was a Marine. (once a Marine, always a Marine)

check out www.ka-bar.com for the full scoop.

Locke's looks like the KA1221. (That's from memory, spellcheck ruined it the first time.) Mine is military surplus Vietnam era. I may be wrong, but I think that was the only style they made back then, and it's still Marine issue.

I still think the case of knives is key. It makes no sense for walkabout, but it's good for arming several folks stranded on a tropical island. Did Locke decide to bring the case of knives, or did the island?

Bigbadbill

I used to be a knife geek when I was a teen. I had an old Kabar but lost it on a canoe trip. Actually those big knifes are more for show. Looks good on TV. The story line is interesting but I guess its more of a case of the prop guy buying a bunch of knifes in a hurry. Someone try and figure out who makes the big bowie he carries with the saw back.

I tend to be terribly cynical about certain things, and the whole case of knives thing is one of them.

As I've said in other threads here and elsewhere, I think that Locke has no real experience, and that most of his "survivalist" [to call it something!] knowledge is from books and other sources. A case full of relatively showy and useless knives fits well with that image.

Then again, we can't discount the possibility of Locke actually having the experience and know-how, in which case the 'mystery' of the knives would be more readily be explained as a prop error.

See how prettily I'm straddling this fence?

Locke definately was a wanna be but.....

As he said the Island made him whole and that meant more than simply walking but becoming useful with meaning to his life.

Locke was an abused child and his biological parents were worse. He lived his life in his mind and the Island is letting him simply chisel the the granite, so he has started to carve his David! He was a wanna be not anymore, the real deal!

By the way I love that he wasn't a GREEN BERET or a SEAL etc.... Much more complex and original.

Did it seem that he got weeker in the legs as he got more upset?

Great forshadowing with the mouse trap falling just as he spots his mother. I watched it a second time and found that pretty creepy.

Locke's character just went from cartoon super hero to a real person and what a great job Terry did, the panic in his eyes was real!!!!!

betts4,

Another knife geek! Glad I'm not the only one! I've enjoyed watching Locke and his knife collection throughout the show, regardless of where they came from. I also own several Spyderco knives and I think I have the one that Locke carries. I'll have to watch further to make sure. I wasn't even aware of it until you mentioned it. I have two knives on my computer desk. One is the Spyderco and the other is made by CRKT labeled as the "Van Hoy Snap Lock." Both are great for opening with one hand!

That said, my whole family is a group of "knife freaks." My wife's father taught my daughter to throw knives effectively at the age of 4! Great pictures. Anyway, they (knives) can be quite an effective means of defense.

Dontkillbill,

Thanks. I agree with you. If Locke went away, there would definitely be a "loss" felt on the island. I have to admit, and I'm biased because I'm a huge Locke fan, if Locke were to go away, my interest in the show would decline. I might keep up for a week or so but it wouldn't be the same. I'm sure the same can be said for Boone fans who have been let down. I just don't think that Locke and Boone are on the same level as far as the show goes.

Maybe the difference between Locke and Boone fans are when they really look into themselves and appreciate what each of the characters contributes to the show as a whole. That leaves Boone lacking. Yeah, he's an interesting character (and could have been developed into a more interesting character) but he just doesn't/didn't have the mystique that Locke has. As a side note, I've heard/read that contract negotiations are currently going on with the cast of LOST so who knows who's going to possibly be the next to go, if there is a next to go. We'll all find out together.

I think knives are built into the psyche like other Jungian archetypes, just newer and weaker. For 100,000 years children born who naturally enjoyed using a knife had a survival advantage. Thus there's no feeling quite like walking through the woods with a Bowie strapped to your leg.

Brian
04-22-05, 02:31 AM
LIW,

Good point! I agree with you completely. It's just a shame that we can't walk around with a Bowie, or whatever we prefer, strapped to our leg anymore. At least not in public. That's one of the things I always enjoyed while I was in the Army. I could carry whatever I wanted, wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted. No wonder Locke's so happy! :)

Dontkillbill,

How true, how true. I agree with you. Although when you take what said and apply it to LOST, you see who has the upper hand. It's one thing to look good in the eyes of the general public, it's another thing entirely to be able to provide for yourself in an emergency. Locke was discounted entirely before he arrived on the island. He was belittled, conned, lied to, etc. But, who's on top now? Yeah, Jack's a doctor, Sawyer and Kate are killers, heck, even Hurley's in a bit of position of power but who's really doing the hard work? The one who no one expected, especially after "Walkabout."

Hello all, I just stumbled in here and am really likeing it, so I thought that if yall didn't mind, as a fellow knife nut, I'd chime in.
The Kabar actually started out life as the Marine Combat/Utility Knife, which was a Marine adaption of a Navy issue knife, and if memory serves me correctly there were about 7 different companies which made their versions of the specs(7-section leather spacer handle/pommel/crossguard/7" clip point blade/etc.) laid out by the military. Personally I think the Camillous (probably misspelled) is the better blade, and has the thicker crossguard, but anyway, Kabar was(again the "if-mamory" thing) the first to get in production, and ended up winning the contract, or at least the initial contract. They are easy to recognize by the oval cross section of the handle. The whole time I served, the only ones that I ever saw GOV.-ISSUED were parkerized bladed, black handled versions, and were made by Ontario. Also proved to be very good knives. Kabar, Case, Cammilus, and Ontario, still make legitimate knives of this design, and Kabar has been modifying several different designs based on the original concept. There are countless cheap quality, wannabe knockoffs, too. I'm having trouble viewing the links above, but I'll take your word for it.
I practice and primitive survival, and at best, minimal gear camping(knife/flint), and I can't figure out why an experienced practicioner would not have included a short machete for all around use in the tropics? Just my personal opinion. Thanks for lettng me give my 2 cents worth.

Bootlegger I think what got me hooked on the show was Locke and his abilities. I love when they show the little things people make out of the wreckage. THe machete they fashioned out of scrap metal, a wooden mallet etc.. Its a little convenent some of the tarps etc they have but hey its TV. I'd love to see one of them make an tipi for shelter and make fire with a bow. All the bushcraft is forcing my love on a tv show so I know it wont happen but its a great show and fun to watch and ponder what I could do in such a position.

Since you've got the bow drill down pat, try a hand drill(same princible, just no bow or string). You'll want to use a smaller diamater spindle, though, as you can't hand-spin quite the rpm's that you can spin with a bow. Let me know how you like it.

This is one of the major mysteries of Lost, imo. He could have checked them, but why bring all those knives to the outback? He couldn't carry them. Maybe he chose his one or two and checked the case somewhere, but that's a pretty unsatisfying answer. He would have chosen before going to Australia.

Unfortunately this is one mystery best answered by Freud and the Matrix. I hope that theory's not true. ;)

Brian
05-07-05, 03:00 AM
LIW,

Good point. He definitely picked that collection out before he put them on the plane (however he did it). Why do I say that? Look at the carrying case. It was a metal case with molded foam in the exact shape of each knife, and they were definitely all different shapes/sizes. Perhaps it was a collection he brought in hopes of using them on walkabout. Perhaps he bought them in Australia after being turned down for walkabout ala a souvenir or something. That probably isn't the case given the care and dedication to protecting them from harm. I'm a knife collector myself as well as a former US Army Ranger and I don't have anything like that for any of my knives. If I wanted to take them all to Australia I'd just throw 'em in the suitcase and check 'em along with everything else.

Lockes' knives, their presence on the the plane, blah, blah, blah, all have a meaning. I don't think we've been given that meaning yet. I believe this is just another of those story lines that will play itself out in time.

Thanks for bumping this LostInWilderness.

I actually have a thought about Locke's knives now that we're closer to S2. Given that we're going to be exposed, possibly, to survivors from the other side of the island in S2 (ala Ana-Lucia), I wonder what else Locke brought on that flight for Walkabout that he hasn't recovered yet. Are there more Locke-problems to be found with the possible discovery of further wreckage on the other side of the island? I suppose this question could be applied to all of our castaways but Locke's knives coupled with possible new wreckage got me wondering.

LostInWilderness

There's a thread (or several) in T&S about the items each lostaway cherished. Locke's knives, Sawyer's letter, Jin's watch, Kate's airplane, Hurley's walkman, Walt's comic book... You should start some speculation on whether or not more pertinent things will be found with the tail section survivors. Another great thread to discuss this is in Spooky's dolls thread.

But about Locke's knives. Maybe pre-island Locke was cheating. He was a coward and insecure. Maybe he intended to carry all those knives in that case strapped to his wheelchair on walkabout. We all discussed the knives we would take above, but none of us who did that are insecure and in a wheelchair. Plus, Locke was hoping (and knowing him, planning) to have Helen go with him. He would need more knives for that, and that case was obviously made in advance.

Anyway, I'm throwing this out as a plausible explanation for why Locke had all those knives on the plane.

Hi all from Ireland[where you really can feel like you are marooned:eek ]
Anyway,we are about half way thru the first season. It just gets better and better.
As for mr Lockes knives, being a knife dude my self,I have seen in his case and carrying a modified[?]USMC KA Bar,a divers knife of some type, a intresting "ring finger knife,"and a Spyderco clipit[worn on his vest opposite the compass] .But what really bugs me is what is his main blade or "pig sticker"that he always carries and INMHO abuses.IE using it as a throwing knife, chucking it into the earth ,etc.Havent seen him sharpen any one of them yet either.
I am tipping on either a modified for the seris TOPS Anaconda spear point,or a Chris Reeve Green Beretmodel.
As to travel with blades,so long as it is in checked luggage pre or post 9.11 it is no problem. No need to go to buying extra fancy cases. If it is cabin baggage..BIG PROBLEM!!
Why he would be taking them to Aussie on walkabout?I suppose if you were going to buy custom blades and go on a once in a lifetime trip you would go the xtra mile to protect them in transport?Maybe he figured on testing the different blades in different circumstances in the bush?I certainly would. However what I have seen apart from his main blade are prety standard knives.Maybe the producers reckoned that us viewers wouldnt know the difference???

Welcome Irish survivor! Nice to have you aboard.

I noticed the K-Bar and the Spyderco myself as well as I own both of those knives. I also agree with you that he's misusing that knife by using it for throwing, target practice, etc. They make throwing knives for a reason! :) My 6 year old daughter is better at throwing knives than I am since her grandfather has had time to teach her correctly. I only mention that because I do know the difference between a field knife, a diving knife, a throwing knife, etc. I'm a former US Army Ranger so I've been around my share of knives. My personal favorite is the gurkha. Cold Steel makes a nice looking version (http://www.coldsteel.com/fixed-blades-gurkhas.html) of it but I haven't bought one yet. Still looking at this point.

Anyway, back to your post. Personally I think the carrying case was just for show. Or should I say it was just for the show. It looks good on TV to the unknowing but to the rare few of us it looks a little ridiculous. I'd never carry any of my knives like that regardless of how many I was travelling with. I might display them that way at a knife show if I was selling the case or something, but never just for travel.

I thought I did see Locke sharpening one of his knives once during Season 1 but I can't remember when right now. I know for a fact that he's shown sharpening his knife in the Season 2 promo that aired here in the US last Wednesday. Perhaps you haven't seen it yet but you most likely will, or should! :)

My Cold Steel Bowie was my favorite, though I probably used my KBar more. It was anodized so I didn't have to worry about it rusting. It is entertaining how Locke's knife is a do it all knife. He'll probably take it diving in the ocean in season two.

Ah, I stepped back in to applaude.

I haven't been to this forum in awhile...been a bit busy. But, that is a great point about the abuse of his knives. Locke, if he were a real knife handler, would not be tossing the knife he wanted to use for boar hunting at a tree, over and over again. Not if HE were a real knife geek and not just a pretend one.

Maybe he is doing this to prove to everyone that he can - he impresses Boone and Michael and some others with his knife throwing...and its not that easy to throw that large/heavy a knife.
As was said, they make throwing knives for a reason.

As for him getting the knives ON the plane, well, he could check his baggage and they would have been in the luggage section. I have had to check my luggage because it had knives in it. He does find them when everyone is going thru baggage looking for their own stuff.

He seems like he knows how to use them very well, but then there are little errors that make me wonder. If he owned a spyderco, then why not a spyderco sharpener. It is ceramic rods that make is easy to sharpen anything. And will fit anywhere - like in a case for knives.

I was wondering what he would have done if Sawyer had found them first....

Okay. if Sawyer had found them before Locke did then he would be pissed off, like when he does his "Don't tell me what I can't do!" saying. I think we would have seen a big catfight between them, that would have been awesome!

Locke would have given Sayid a sharp piece of metal and manipulated him into torturing Sawyer while Locke recovered his knives.

Nah. Too complicated. It would have been much easier to use "The Spirit Guides' Patented Head-Salve". After that, Sawyer would have given them over willingly just like Boone willingly gave himself over to Locke.

Hello all,

Back when Lost started, with the help of some fellow knife enthusiasts on bladeforums.com, I began to identify each and every one of the knives in Locke's collection... and so far I've succeeded. I also moved on to identifying his other equipment, like his shoes (Hi-Tec Algomas), his case (a Rimowa Tropicana Trolley) his vest (a CampCo photography vest) and other stuff.

If the masters of this forum will permit me, I'd be happy to post a detailed thread with pictures and descriptions of all of Locke's stuff! The thread would be image intensive, though, so I figured I'd ask permission first. A sticky thread would be nice.

Waddaya say?

P.S. - The most recent knife we've seen Locke use is a SOG Tigershark. Here he is throwing it away, in "Adrift":

www.lost-media.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=736&pos=144 (http://www.lost-media.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=736&pos=144)

And here is the knife on SOG's official site:

www.sogknives.com/tigersh.htm (http://www.sogknives.com/tigersh.htm)

P.P.S. - The knife that Locke most often carries at his side, and throws at trees, is actually a very cheap (like, $8 ) Master Bowie made by Master Knives. Was going to provide a link for it, but it looks like they're becoming harder to find. Locke actually has at least three of these Master Bowies in his collection, which may be why he doesn't mind throwing one of them at things. Examples of multiple Master Bowies:

1. The one he carries.
2. The one he leaves with Boone, in Hearts and Minds.
3. The broken one he builds Claire's crib with.
4. The one Michael sticks into a polar bear, which then apparently lumbers off with the knife still stuck in it.

Let me know if you want a "Locke's Stuff" thread!

Absolutely! I'd love to see what you've compiled. As a former US Army Ranger, I'd like to see if your list can help me define mine!

Also, I think it would be a good "stickied" thread as well considering we're bound to learn more as the season progresses! LIW, Hodge, et al, what do y'all think?

(ETA - Sgt Draino, where were you during S1? :) Seriously, thanks for everything you bring to the Locke forum!)

I salute your service, Leuthen. Ranger training is hard.

I don't see a posting option to make a topic "sticky," so I'll assume that's something only the higher-ups can do. I take it LIW and Hodge are moderators? What about yourself? How should I proceed?

To be completely honest, I was hanging out over on televisionwithoutpity. I tended to visit their forums ever since 24 started. But over the years, off and on, I would occasionally violate one of their many posting guidelines (purely by accident, I assure you), and get warned. Just recently my warning level reached 60%, and I found I could no longer post messages. So, I was forced to find a new home. Here I am!

A fugitive from another forum!!!! Well, you're welcome here. I like this island of misfit toys. People on other boards are mean. So far here (on the Land of the Locke) people are pretty respectful, even when disagreeing. That is cool because then you can learn something. "Shut up, stupid!!" doesn't help me probe weaknesses in my theories or develop new lines of thinking.

Right on. And please don't think I'm a flaming troublemaker. I got warned for dumb stuff like, "redundant topic," (a post they wanted in the "general speculation" thread. Not area, but actual thread), "double post" (I tried to post a long message between my 12 hour night shifts, found the posting restrictions limited the size, and broke it up into two smaller posts. Normal people are not awake then, so naturally no one posted in between my two posts), and "fubaring the quote function" (which I still don't understand, since I used their "quote" button just like the one here, but for some reason that day it didn't want to work right). I don't get into fights or respond to bating. In fact, I'm a former moderator myself. I never repeated any violation I was warned for, but on twop warnings stack up and never go away. I eventually hit that 60% mark, and here I am. I appealed to one of the administrators, but never got any reply at all. I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised. I figure posting privileges are pretty much the end-all and be-all of punishments. If you lose your posting priviledges at 60%, I wonder what happens if your level reaches 80% or 100%?

Ah well, hopefully that will be my last words on this particular off-topic. I've put it behind me.

Thanks! I served between the two most recent conflicts (Gulf War I and Operation: Iraqi Freedom). If you've ever seen the movie, or read the book, Blackhawk Down then you've already met some of the men I served with. Thanks again.

"Sticky" refers to "pinning" or "stickying" a thread to the top of the forum. If you look at the top of this forum, you'll see that there are three threads which have what looks like a thumbtack to the left of the thread title. That's "stickying".

Yes, you are correct. Only mods can do this and I, nor Hodge, are one. However, LIW (LostInWilderness) is. I asked for comments from those two because, between the three of us, we've pretty much been the only ones discussing Locke down here in this forum during the off-season. Obviously that has changed now and I don't mean any disrespect to the other posters here now! I'd like to hear comments from everyone here!

As for how you should proceed, I'd say go ahead and start a new thread titled "Lockes Stuff", or whatever title you find appropriate, and then we can just hope that LIW or one of the other mods will "sticky" it! I've already said that I'd love to see that thread as well as seeing it "stickied" so to speak. Since we haven't heard from LIW yet, I don't know if it's going to happen but regardless, I'd appreciate the thread.

Finally, thanks for answering my "Where were you?" question! I understand now and I, for one, am glad to have you here. Obviously, no one here regards you as a troublemaker! You're more than welcome here!

I have to admit that what you and SBA discussed later doesn't exactly give me a "warm and fuzzy" feeling about boards in general. I don't see either of you as fugitives but if that's how you'd define yourselves, so be it! :) Both of you have been nothing if not excellent in your postings here and I applaud each of you for that!

All I can say for the main part of this board is, now you know why most of us "veterans" remain in the less-visited parts of the board. It's nothing of your doing but in the past 3 weeks there has been a hell of a lot of idiocy taking place in the GDA (General Discussion Area) and the mods are understandably "on edge". I can't speak for them because I'm not one, but, give them a chance. Again, it's not you, it's the idiots above.

Oh and, SBA - "Shut up stupid" is something that you'll never hear from a veteran here. We're far more subtle in our sarcasm. Neither of you have anything to worry about as far as I'm concerned!

Finally, it would take a supreme act of stupidity for anyone to be banned from posting on this board. We don't have a lot of rules here and the ones we do have are easy to comply with. Trust me, to be banned from posting, you have to try and I mean really try! :)

If you've compiled some sort of list of Locke's stuff, I'd love to see it Sgt. Draino. I won't promise to sticky it; that depends on what's in it, but post it and we'll see.
