While it would be more interesting if Locke genuninely experienced a miracle, there may be another explanation for his recovery. I was thinking that perhaps Locke was unable to walk due to some sort of psychosomatic disorder rather than a physical one such as a spinal cord injury. I remember him saying something about having the condition for only 4 years, so something may have happened to bring it on such as his wife leaving him or his kid dying. I think true healing of the physical would fit in with the show's atmosphere (and Locke's personality) of being in tune with a greater force, the psychosomatic disorder would explain many things. Either way, his ability to walk can be construed as a miracle, simply because it he was in fact cured.

Hmm....LIW? Sounds like you weren't the first to come up with the psychosomatic theory! Looks to be coming up on a year old now! :) I still buy into regardless of when it was first mentioned, BTW! I just saw this old post and thought of you!

I thought of it on my own, but I read it somewhere before I ever posted it. I didn't claim to be the first. ;)

Yeah I know and I apologize if that was how I sounded. That wasn't what I meant but you were the first I heard mention it until tonight. Maybe that'll make some sense! I bumped this thread because it was before my time here. It was just interesting to hear/see it from that long ago. Thanks!

I will claim to be the current champion of the idea. ;)
