I've never seen this actor prior to this series...Apparently, the guy who plays Locke has a pretty long list of acting credentials.

The actor that plays Locke, did he also play the Sheriff in Stephen King's "Silver Bullet"?

Thank you!
I am sure this will get moved but... Locke is in the movie Silver Bullet, on right now on the west coast... on AMC "Monster Fest"... he looks so young, he plays one of the police...
Silver bullet from the 80's,, very young looking Locke as a cop.. I guess he is almost always in a uniform... can we say typecast?

He plays gthe special agent at the beginning who rushes in and breaks down the door to get to Mulder who is stuck in the room with the bomb. He doesn't diffuse the bomb though, just sits there and lets it blow him up. Probably cause he realizes he can't stop it...maybe he wanted to die...who knows...
interesting scene.
...I saw it at the video store and decided, well, why not?
My sister (who loves campy 1980's horror movies) and I just finished watching it- and it was really pretty bad. Campy fun, maybe, and Terry O'Quinn was good, but the plot was so stupid, it made my brain hurt.
****MOVIE SPOILERS****
The cops knew who the killer was- but they couldn't track him down because he had shaved his beard and changed his name. He didn't even leave the state. A guy who wants revenge for the death of his sister (I didn't learn his name- so we'll call him 'Vengeful 1980's guy') is able to track him down within weeks, finding evidence in plain view, since apparently the cops didn't feel like searching the house- "The guy is too smart", one cop complains. Uh huh. I'm not sure that's the problem here, officer.
My favorite moment is @@{SPOILER!}@@ when Vengeful 1980's guy finally comes face to face with 'Jerry The Stepfather'- but he can't seem to get his gun out of his pocket- so Jerry simply walks up and stabs the guy. So long, Vengeful 1980's guy.
END SPOILERS.
In his defense, Terry O'Quinn was actually very good at being the seemingly nice guy with a creepy undertone. If you like to snark movies, I'd recommend it- that or if you have some desire to see Locke's dick. I didn't, but I still got an eyeful! :eek

i was channel surfing today and when i flipped to CBS, i saw Terry O'quinn (Locke) in a guest role for Navy NCIS. I only saw about 5 minutes of the show but what i gathered is that he played a paranoid skitsofrenic (or however you spell it) who may have served time in a mental institution. correct me if im wrong but wasnt his mom a skitsofrentic and Hurley possibly could have been in a mental instution. i know that this has nothing to do with the show, but i thought it interesing how they put terry in a role that has some connections to other characters on LOST.
I havn't watched the movie in so long and I watched it last night and there he was!
He's the guy at the beginning who is supposed to dismantle the bomb but then just sits in front of it waiting the time out. Then, KABOOM! Umm...no more Terry.
Did anyone remember this?
Cause I didn't.
"The guy is to smart." one cop complains.Uh huh. I'm not sure that's the problem here officer.
Haha exactly. Yeah, if I get a cop like that if I get murdered, some people are seriously getting haunted.:lol
If you like to snark movies, I'd recommend it - That or if you have some desire to see Locke's dick. I didn't, but i still got an eyeful.:eek
Haha! i do like to snark at bad movies. And you get an eyeful? Dude, rotflmao, now I have to see it!:lol
Hey, if you like to make fun of really bad movies, I recommend seeing Merlin starring Sam Neil. It is so bad! It's so bad that my older sister and I turned to making sex jokes at every second line in the movie. It's THAT BAD!

the first time I saw that movie....I think I pissed my pants, and had nightmares for a week. but rewatching it now, I can't believe how amazing an actor Terry O'Quinn is....even with all the campy moments.....;)
If you like to snark movies, I'd recommend it- that or if you have some desire to see Locke's dick.
:hat
Terry was in The X Files at the beginning. He is the guy who is supposed to disarm the bomb but just sits there and let's it explode in his face. Bye Terry. I knew that already.
But I've been going through my X File episodes in order and I came along the episode titled Aubrey. Terry has quite a large part in the episode. He is having an affair (don't see anything, god d***it) with the main guest star. I was so surprised to see him.
When you first see him, it's dark and from the side so I didn't recognize him until he spoke. Then I was like, "I know that voice...TERRY!"
If you can get ahold of the episode, I suggest you watch it. It's a good episode. Kinda creepy, but good epis are.

Tombstone! - One of my favorite movies.
I watched again the other night and who is the town mayor?
Terry O'Quinn!

He was on the episode you are talking about (Aubrey 2X12), but he was also on one in season 9 playing a different character. I believe the title of the episode is Trust No One.
Oh really? I havn't gotten that far yet. I mean, I have seen most of season 9. But I'm watching from the beginning in order now. But I am going pretty fast. I started in the second week of June and I'm already in the third season!

Wow, you really are moving fast through those episodes. I haven't watched an XF episode in years. I was so obsessed with them (I still remember all the titles & numbers). Now my obsession has transferred to Lost.
I think season 3 is among the best. Now I feel like rewatching them from the beginning :-)
~Anne~
Oh, it's so fun watching from the beginning. I love Mulder's first line. "Nobody in here except the FBI's most unwanted!"
Really, season 3? I always thought season 5 was the best. You know, that one has Bad Blood and Triangle. Those two are on my top five.

season 3 is when I first started watching, so it is near and dear to my heart. The mythology still made sense back then, but it was focused a lot more in stand alone episodes and monsters of the week.
Season 5 is okay, but it is short (only 20 eps), and then they had to go and introduce Diana Fowley...grrr... I love Bad Blood. I love Vince Gilligan, he's an awesome writer. Season 3 really stands out to me because of Darin Morgan's episodes: Clyde Bruckman.., War of the Coprophages, and my favorite: Jose Chungs from Outer Space.
In season 4 I think the two best are Memento Mori & Small Potatoes.
Triangle was in season 6, and it's a good one too. (the "Scully, I love you" scene), i was such a shipper! And I always got a kick out of Rain King...and no matter what people say about Arcadia, I loved them pretending to be married.
I thought season 7 was okay, but really uneven. I loved Requiem, because it took the show full circle. But I didn't like Sein Und Zeit & Closure. I thought it was weird that Samantha would have 2 paranormal things happen to her. I just didn't like it. Then there was the stuff like All Things, which I just didn't care for.
Season 8 & 9 I pretend didn't happen, but they have a special place in my little shipper heart...lol... :-)
- Yeah, I liked the Clyde Bruckman one too!
"And he's coming up behind you and...coconut cream." haha
I also love it when he's talking about his vision of him and Scully and Scully is looking at him like, "Not on your life pal." But then we find out it was the complete oposite. I love it.
- Oo, Memento Mori and Small Potatoes were great!
- I love Triangle. I give everyone excellant reviews just for dealing with those shots that last for like 15 minutes. haha! I love it when Scully kisses Skinner! Oh! And when the two Scullys kind of cross paths and have a double take. haha
When they kiss and Scully punches Mulder in the face, then at the end of the epi Mulder goes to lie down and flinches at the sensitive cheek and smiles. *squints eyes and smiles*
- Oh Arcadia! haha "Woman, get back in here and make me a sandwich!" rotflmao
- Same with season 8 and 9. What really p***ed me off was how cigarette smoking man died. I mean c'mon!
Although, when Scully was giving birth to William with all the wierd "alien" people around her and Scully is screaming how they can't take him and that he is hers. Oh man, Gillian Anderson won my alltime favorites right there.
I just realized that season six was the best for me.
Season 5 had Bad Blood (so fun to watch and quote. Watch it all the time.) and Detour (fun to quote too!) (two of my favorites) but season six had Triangle (great directing!), Arcadia (hilarious!), The Unnatural (very special) ,How The Ghosts Stole Christmas (I watch it every Christmas Eve), and Milagro (this one was well written).
EGlVM,
Terry was in The X Files at the beginning. He is the guy who is supposed to disarm the bomb but just sits there and let's it explode in his face.
Was that in the series or the first XF movie? My wife says the movie and I have no idea; it's been a long time since I've watched any XF episodes, movies, etc. Just wondering. Anyone remember?
(ETA - I just realized the title of this thread so I think I just answered my own question. I'll leave this here though for confirmation! Thanks.)
^ haha The Movie. From now on I'll refer to the movie as The X Files - Fight The Future (the title).
EGlVM,
haha The Movie.
Thanks. I was a little confused to be quite honest. My wife was/is an XF fan of the highest order so I didn't want to question her. I just thought that scene might have been shown in the series as well. Thanks for the answer! :)
You're welcome!
P.S. What is your icon a picture of? I've been scratching my head for a while now. haha
EGlVM,
P.S. What is your icon a picture of?
I PM'd you the answer but because others might be wondering as well, I'll post it here too.
It's an F-18 Hornet from the U.S. Navy, (yeah, I know, I mislabeled it in my PM to you), breaking the sound barrier.
From the page (http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Jul1999/n07161999_9907162.html) it originates from: "The shock wave is visible as a large cloud of condensation formed by the cooling of the air. A smaller shock wave can be seen forming on top of the canopy."
To see it really well, here's a link to the high res (http://www.defenselink.mil/specials/images/sightofsound.jpg) picture.
Terry O'Quinn Sightings
T. O'Quinn been in a whole mess of movies and TV shows. There's no one thread dedicated to this, so I thought I would add my Terry O'Quinn sighting to this thread.
I was watching The Cutting Edge yesterday, the one where Moira Kelly and DB Sweeney become a figure skating (finger painting?) duo.
TOQ plays Moira Kelly's father. He has hair. At one point, Moira Kelly exclaims, "Don't tell me what I can and can't do!!!"
Ah, like father, like daughter.
Somebody else mentioned that TOQ was in an episode of Roswell (Emile de Ravin).
Finally, I vaguely recollect TOQ playing Howard Hughes in the Rocketeer. I'll have to rewatch that movie to see if there was anything of Lost-significance in it.
I think The Cutting Edge is my earliest recollection of TOQ in a movie. He was great in that movie IMHO.
I already started a thread on this.
And you have to watch the whole movie to get why he just sat there. Go rent it. It's a great movie.
Terry was also in a couple episodes when The X files was on the air. He was in Aubrey and TrustNo1 playing different characters in both and the movie.

Did you start it before Halloween '04?
I already started a thread on this.
Sorry! I must have missed it.
I wanted to make this into a thread that talks about all of TOQ's past appearances, X-Files or whatever.
^ Oh ok, post withdrawn.

I can't remember but *roots through message board files* it's in here somewhere. *throws papers everywhere*
I wanted to make this into a thread that talks about all of TOQ's past appearances, X-Files or whatever.
I'll re-title this thread to Terry O'Quinn Sightings and if EGlVM, or I, finds her other thread, I'll just merge it into this one.
ETA - EGlVM, is this the thread you're talking about? (http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5570) If it is, let me know and I'll merge it.

Back in '94-'95, Terry played a character similar to an evil version of Locke, on the short-lived sci-fi show Earth 2. He played a guy named Reilly, who initially appeared to be a corporate-type, and eventually turned out to be a computer simulation. Reilly seemed particularly interested in "the boy" who was "special."
Reilly seemed particularly interested in "the boy" who was "special."
 Now that's just weird. Interesting, but weird. I remember that show but never watched it.

I was flipping through the channels last night and came across a show on Lifetime (I know...why Lifetime). It caught my eye because Locke was in the show (the guy who plays Locke anyway).
It looked like a remake of Phenomenon with John Travolta. But anyway the character played by Locke was named........Mr. Hatch!
I apologize if anyone else had found this before. I know it was not a new movie or show.

While getting the 1980's verion of the Twilight Zone (I didn't know there was one) I was watching and Locke pops up playing a doctor in one of the episodes. The show was from 1985 years ago so it is 22 years old. It was weird to see him much younger.
His name on the show was Dr. Curt Lockridge so I thought that was weird because I know sometimes writers or actors pick names based on something they relate to (old friends, etc) so the names sound real. I wonder if the name carried over.
