A few more spoilers for Season 2, this time coming from Alan Ball.
“Jason goes into the Fellowship of the Sun church in a big way and is surprised by what he finds there. There’s a new creature in town that is unlike any other. Nobody knows what this creature is, I’m not sure if it will be entirely explained in the show — it’s not a werewolf. There are new romances for Tara, Jason and Sara. Bill and Sookie have a lot of issues to sort out — including having made a new teenage vampire that’s living in their house. Bill and Sookie also go to Dallas to find one of their own who has gone missing.”
A new creature, not a werewolf … what could that be? I have no idea. Is he talking about the maenad? Or something else?
Bill and Sookie, their house. Does this means that they moved in together?
Bill and Sookie going to Dallas would follow the storyline of Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris.

Maybe he's bringing in Claudine early, the fairie, unless it's a character of his creation.
you can read Chap. 1 of the latest Stackhouse book coming out on Charlaine Harris's websitehttp://www.charlaineharris.com/
File this under "S" for Stuff That Doesn't Suck: True Blood is resurrecting Sookie's Gram (played by the sublime Lois Smith) in season 2! And by "resurrecting" I mean "returning in newly-created flashback scenes!" Still bloody fangtastic if you ask me!

Any scoop on Season 2 of True Blood? — Whitney
MICKEY: I'm sorry to say that the person you were hoping wasn't actually dead is actually dead. Bill, Sookie and Jessica, who are now kind of a demented family unit, travel to Texas, where they'll meet this guy. (The stars at night... are big and bright.... everybody!)
Cheryl White has been cast as Mrs. Hamby - Jessica’s mother
On the casting call Mrs. Hamby is described as:
40 - 50, Jessica’s grief-stricken and tearful mother, she appears on the news begging for information on Jessica’s whereabouts. Mrs. Hamby is an uncertain woman who completely submits to her husband’s decisions and can’t make a move without consulting him.
GUEST STAR / POSSIBLE RECURRING
Missy Doty has been cast for the role of Vonetta.
The casting call describes her as:
Coralee’s friend, this bar patron in her 30s gossips avidly about the recent murder — right up until Terry throws her off the premises.
1 speech & 2 lines, 1 scene

Lindsay in Houston: I cannot wait until this summer! Talk to me about True Blood!
Sookie's power is not unique to her. She'll meet a young Texan named Barry who reads minds, and they freak each other a little when they discover each other's powers. Also, great news for us Eric fans: We'll be catching up with him in 10th century Scandinavia, likely when he was first turned into a vampire. Holler!

A little more on the above from Ausiello:
Question: Dude! What's going on?! Where's all the True Blood scoop!? --Ryan
Ausiello: Chill, bro, I've got just the tease for ya -- and so does the show. Alan Ball and Co. are currently talking to "name" actresses to appear in just one episode this season (and more in future ones). The character? No less than Sophie-Anne, the 500-year-old queen of the Louisiana vampires. My mole tells me that Her Highness is as bright and witty as she is powerful and dangerous. (Isn't that always the way?) Michelle Pfeiffer, call your agent -- yesterday!

Hate to burst your bubble Brian; but, Sophie-Anne was made a vampire at a very young age in the books. She is described as being around 14 or 15 years old in appearance.
Not bursting my bubble. I just copied Ausiello's stuff. :)
That said, here are some promo photos for season 2 (http://spoilertv.blogspot.com/2009/03/true-blood-season-2-promotional-photos.html). Enjoy!
Kristin has a sneak preview scene from S2 (http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b119703_true_blood_see_scene_from_season_two.html) available at her site. I don't know what that was chasing Sookie, but it doesn't look too friendly.

'True Blood' scoop: Evan Rachel Wood crowned Queen! (http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/true-blood-scoo.html)
Ready for some fangstastic casting news?
Sources confirm to me exclusively that True Blood creator Alan Ball has tapped Evan Rachel Wood to play the pivotal role of Sophie-Anne, the vampire Queen of Louisiana!
Who dat, you ask? She's a 500-year-old vampire from France who is charming, wily, ruthless and wise. She's a consummate diplomat who has (or had) many of history's most famous people on speed dial.
Short story shorter: It's a major frakkin' part, and landing Wood (whose last significant TV gig was Once and Again) is a major frakkin' coup.
A True Blood insider tells me that Wood is booked for two episodes, both of which will air towards the end of the show's upcoming second season. But rest assured, if the show is renewed for a third season (and, please, it will be), Wood will be back. Again: Major frakkin' part.
This one's for snakey since she asked about it in the book thread. I couldn't really put it there though. :)
'True Blood' exclusive: Lafayette speaks!
WARNING: Stop reading if you have not watched the season premiere of True Blood. I mean it. Everyone else, onward and downward...
Now that you've seen the season 2 premiere of True Blood, join me in a chorus of “Hallelujah, Lafayette lives!” Although last November’s cliff-hanger seemed to suggest that series creator Alan Ball was remaining faithful to Charlaine Harris’ books and sending Nelsan Ellis’ fierce, flamboyant alter ego to an early grave, Sunday’s debut confirmed what many fans had hoped: Ball decided to spare the wildly popular character. But why? In this exclusive interview, Ellis has the surprising answer to that question, as well as scoop on another possible detour Ball has up his sleeve -- this one involving a deep connection between Lafayette and Alexander Skarsgard's Eric.
When you first signed on to the show, did Alan Ball assure you he would not be following the books when it came to this character?
NELSAN ELLIS: No, no no. When I first started it was only a one-year contract, so I thought I was a goner after the 12th episode. In fact, [Alan] didn’t tell me that he was bringing me back until after the table read for [the season 1 finale]. He was like, “You know we’re not killing you, right?" And I was like, “I didn’t know but thanks for telling me."
What was your reaction?
ELLIS: Thank you! I have a job for next season! That was my reaction.
Did he explain to you why he let Lafayette survive?
ELLIS: Not really. He just said he decided after the bar scene in [the pilot], but he didn’t tell me until the 12th episode. He didn’t really go into any detail as to why he decided to keep me -- not to me anyway.
When did you realize the character was gaining a large following?
ELLIS: I’m beginning to realize it now. At first I didn’t. I am realizing more and more that people have seemed to respond well to Lafayette, much to my surprise.
Why are you surprised?
ELLIS: Well, because I would not know what to do with Lafayette or what to think about him.
Was it hard keeping his fate a secret during the hiatus?
ELLIS: It was hard. The question was asked every single day.
How will the experience of being locked in a dungeon and almost dying change Lafayette this season?
ELLIS: It certainly humbles him. It shows him there are some situations he just can’t get himself out of no matter how slick he is. He's going to have to suffer the consequences of what he’s done. And I think he reflects back on his behavior and maybe for a second thinks about changing.
In an upcoming episode [SPOILER ALERT], Lafayette ingests a lot of Eric’s blood. The homoeroticism in that moment was off the charts. Was that something you were conscious of while shooting it?
ELLIS: I wasn’t. I know Alexander said that from his standpoint he thinks Eric is a little drawn to Lafayette. My intentions were that I was completely terrified of Eric and what he can do to me. As far as I know, I hated his guts. It’s funny what the camera picks up... Alan has been making jokes about me and Eric and what’s to come in the third season. I definitely think I’ll be one of his henchmen, but as far down the rabbit hole as that goes, I don’t know.
So we can assume that Lafayette does, in fact, survive to see a third season?
ELLIS: I think I’m back for the third season.
Do you think it’s possible for Lafayette to settle down and have a normal relationship with a guy?
ELLIS: I don’t know that his normal is the general norm for everybody. I don’t think he’ll ever be normal to everybody’s standards. I do hope, though, that the dude can find someone that he loves and that loves him back. Everybody should be capable of that -- even Lafayette.
(Source (http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/06/true-blood-exclusive-lafayette-speaks.html#more))
Holy crap, I had thought it might be L that Eric has the 'homoerotic (what an expression, lol) after seeing the premiere but Ellis sure confirmed it for me, thanks Brian! I thought it would have been stupid to get rid of him, since he was such a fan favorite and also because Alan already veered way off the books as far as Bill goes, so why not keep L? It is very unlike the book Eric too for him to go for Lafayette, but we shall see what happens, soon or sooner.
posting this here as it might be spoilery for some.

True Blood’s executive producer Alan Ball took some time out to discuss what season 2 holds in store, his emotional connection with True Blood, the writing process and more. Based on The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris, True Blood, which ended its first season with a large cult following and dedicated fan base, chronicles the life of telepathic bar maid Sookie Stackhouse, the love of her life, Vampire Bill, as well as a ton of other colorful characters. The cast, including Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, Alexander Skarsgård, Deborah Ann Woll and Rutina Wesley, along with Alan Ball and Charlaine Harris will be appearing at this year’s Comic-Con in a panel discussion, but for more immediate insight on the show, read on.
Q: How do you come up with the story for each episode?
A: It’s a 50/50 combo, using material from book, and using our own material. We stick pretty closely to Sookie’s story, a lot of the story line is original. There are some changes here and there to help streamline the story, however we do try that it remains true to the spirit of the book and spread it out over 12 episodes. I work with four really great writers – Brian Buckner, Nancy Oliver, Raelle Tucker and Alexander Woo, they are as much a part of the story telling of the show as I am.
Q: Have you read all the books and how close do you plan to follow them?
A: I have not read the newest book, that has just released because I haven’t had time, I fell in love with these books, and I thought this is a great tale one of the reasons they are so successful is that they work – you’re walking a fine line, you want to be as faithful to the book as possible, but then there will be no surprises for the audience, I definitely stay faithful to source material because it’s really good and it works.
Q: Did you feel you had to up the ante this season?
A: I did not feel like we needed to up the ante, just to up the ante I did feel like it was important to make Eric more frightening and show his more monstrous side, as things progress, we definitely see his more human side. I don’t think we do anything gratuitously, its important to show that they have an incredible erotic chemistry, both never had the chance to have a love affair, and they found each other and there’s something fantastic and mind blowing about that. The violence in the first two episodes, its important to see that these people are monsters, they are capable of being monsters and violent – a character who will remain nameless who has to deal with all of that, will suffer PTSD from that over the course of the season.
Q: Can you pinpoint one character that is the most evil of all?
A: I don’t think people who are actually evil know that they’re evil, I think they believe in some way that their actions are justified in some way. I would say hesitate to say Maryann, she revels in chaos and destruction, but she doesn’t look at it from the polarities of good and evil. But just in terms of someone who enjoys being cruel and sadistic and has a really dark vision, is the character that has not shown up yet-another vampire from Dallas.
Q: A part of the show takes place in Dallas, how is that going to be reflected in the look of the show?
A: We chose to show a very different side of vampire culture, a lot of it takes place in a hotel that’s very upscale and caters to vampires. It’s a different look in Dallas, when we’re in the city, a lot of it takes place in the Fellowship of the Sun, a lot of takes base on the campground, so that’s very nature based
Q: Concerning the music of the show, is that also going to change?
A: Well we’re very excited that we’ve been using a song from the new Bob Dylan album, When we go to Dallas to the hotel, it will be a different kind of music than what you hear in Merlotte’s, it will be urban sophisticated and definitely different. We have a lot of different music in the show – I will say that there are moment in the show when we go back in time – that’s a very different time, its still pretty Louisiana based
Q: Tara and Jessica not part of the book – what are some of the things you’re trying to explore with these characters?
A: I did think we need another strong woman who is one of our chore group of characters, it’s Louisiana explore the racial makeup of that region and also, this is a small town in the south – hang nooses at trees, based on racial tension, I think it would be silly to do that and just have Caucasian characters, Tara has an alcoholic mother, but I wanted to really explore a really strong friendship of two outcasts. And then Jessica, once we decided to make Bill the guy to stake Long Shadow instead of Eric (which is the way it happens in the book), once we had a girl who came from a very sheltered, home schooled background, and plucked her out of that and put her in this entirely new environment, that opened itself up to all kinds of interesting situations.
Q: You once said when you referred to your early television writing career, that you didn’t have much connection to what you were writing – what is your emotional connection to True Blood?
A: The things about True Blood is that it’s been so much fun to work on. The emotion I feel for all these characters, they feel real to me, when we’re breaking stories, we might as well have a sign in the writer’s room that says, ‘it’s the emotions stupid,’ because if you don’t have characters that you care about and you can’t face their behavior and their own special needs than its just a parade of set pieces and special effects and I personally don’t respond to that kind of entertainment, and what I feel makes the show special is that it has all the trappings of an amusement park – but at the same time the characters are behaving organic emotional place, I think it’s important to keep the character rooted in wants, desires, struggles needs and not just in fangs and special effects-ultimately that stuff on its own isn’t very interesting.
Q: What is the process of going from a regular drama to a genre category?
Well in a lot of ways the process is the same. “Six Feet Under” was a personal and professional achievement that I was proud of – but it was hard, 5 years of staring in the abyss, it took its toll and I think that’s one of the things that appealed to me about Charlaine’s books, that man this is so much fun, and I can’t put them down, I mean it has an emotional basis, but I its also just was crazy fun. I remember when I wrote American Beauty and I got offered every mid-life crisis screenplay and I just thought ‘why are you giving me this? I did this.’ I don’t want to go through my life repeating that- what fun is that?
Q: Can you talk a bit more about Jason’s character arch for the season?
A: Jason is very much the hot guy in town who is a total womanizer, I think once we started to flesh him out, no pun intended, he is sexually compulsive, but he’s been a scared little boy who has been abandoned by everyone who he’s ever loved, getting him involved in an addiction story line, also having him fall in love. He mostly high out of his mind the whole time and also losing the woman he loved. In the second season I think he is very much aware of a deep hole he has in his soul, as many people do, he latches onto religion and becomes part of an organization makes him feel good, special, like he’s good at something and gifted at something and that really means a lot to him, but of course as time goes on, he realizes that the organization he’s involved with have anything to do with the fundamental message of Jesus. Lets just say Jason cant keep his clothes on for too long.
Q: Has your involvement in True Blood had an involvement in how you think of good and evil?
I tend to think that good and evil are black and white polarities that we sort of turn to in a very, very gray world, I think that’s reflected in the show, I certainly see good and evil, in day to day life, certainly in the 24 hour cable news cycle. There’s a moment in the second episode in the church they are greeted by the Newlins, someone in the audience yells
“Die fanger,” and I would be lying if I said some of the reactions of the Sarah Palin rallies wasn’t behind that.
Q: Can you tell us a bit more about Evan Rachel Woods’ role in the second season?
A: She is going to be playing Sophie Anne, the vampire queen of Louisiana. The vampire political structure in the state is each state has a king or queen, the buck stops there in terms of vampire politics. She doesn’t show up until the 5th or 6th book, but it turned out that it makes sense for her to show up in the second season. In the book she is a young looking woman, she’s more than 400-years-old, Evan’s really beautiful, she’s very pale, she looked like a vampire to me.
Q: What is the most difficult part you’ve had in creating the series?
A: Trying to produce the show on a television schedule and budget and trying to fit everything. Those episodes are packed and its not just people sitting in a room talking, there’s a lot of storyboarded action sequences, special effects sequences, big sequences in the second season – lots of extras, definitely the hardest part is getting it done in time, not having the schedule and the budget.
Q: You’ve said that you weren’t viewing vampirisim as anything else, do you still have that view?
A; Vampirism as anything else – assimilation and equal rights as a metaphor gay and lesbians today, maybe African Americans 50 years ago and I think I would be naïve if I didn’t see that , if that wasn’t easy to look at it that way, for me it’s a little too easy and ultimately one of the things I like about the show, is that its very complex, you could look at it, if I’m using vampires these murdering vicious monsters for metaphor for gay and lesbians – would I really do that as a gay man. Its very fluid, the metaphor and I certainly think that one of the themes of the show. How difficult it is to co-exist, those who are other, those who are different, I cant take any of that stuff too seriously – because, hello, it’s a show about vampires, there’s definitely something fun about that,
Q: A few members of the cast aren’t from the south or America for that matter, how did they learn to replicate the southern accents we see in the show?
A: We has a dialect coach for the first season, but this season they’ve got it down, I am from the south myself so If I hear something that really sounds off, I’ll have them corrected, but they’ve gotten really good at it.
Q: Have you ever received any notes from HBO about the sex or violence?
A: No. The sex is a very important part of people’s psyches – their sexuality is a way to explore who they are as characters and I feel like that’s always underlying part everything we do.
missed this from 6/14, I think they just want to drive Alex/Eric fans crazy, Lafayette is one of my fave characters, but I want him kissing Eric as much as Lady Gaga kissing Alex.

True Blood is finally back for season two, Lafayette is alive (hallelujah!), and if you already pressed play to see the video above, right about now you are hearing Alexander Skarsgard say something about Eric's sexual tension with Nelsan Ellis' Lafayette! Lordy, Lordy!
And now that you know the news that Lafayette is alive on True Blood (albeit chained up in Eric's basement), we have some even more delightful tidings for you...
We can't say too much, but as it turns out, Eric and Lafayette's chemistry together is electric. Eric has the upper hand for the time being (he's still pissed about that vampire who went missing last season), but before too long the two settle into an amiable rivalry that opens the door for much wit and some crackling conversations. You won't want to miss a minute!
An Alex fan saw some filming and has piccies up plus a vid of Eric flying (sortof),

TrueBloodNet.com Exclusive Interview with Marcia deRousse
June 26, 2009 by KS Rose
Dr. Ludwig: Doctor to the Dark Side
Recently we had the great pleasure of talking to Marcia deRousse who will be playing Dr. Ludwig on this Sunday’s True Blood episode, “Scratches”. She’s been in such films as Tiptoes, And The Award Goes To… , The Grannies and Under The Rainbow and in familiar TV shows including The Fall Guy, St. Elsewhere and Highway to Heaven. She also does stand up comedy and plays including ‘The Sugar Bean Sisters” for which she was nominated for Best Actress by the Ticketholder’s Awards. She took most of the nineties off to take care of her sick mother but returned to acting in 2000 after her mother passed. Oh, and she just happens to be a little person.
TBN.com: The Ozarks are beautiful, what is your favorite thing about growing up there?
Marcia: The nature and the beauty of it. The beautiful clear rivers, our farm is right between two beautiful, clean pristine rivers. The natural quality of everything there plus it’s an easier slower way of life. I got to have more of a ‘normal’ upbringing than if I had spent a lot of time in the city because it’s slower and quieter and gentler in many ways.
TBN.com: We know you attended the University of Missouri, Columbia attaining a degree in education. How long did you teach?
Marcia: In Missouri I taught for two years and then when I came out here I substitute taught for about seven years. I would get permanent, long-term, substitute jobs. I was offered jobs to teach but it’s hard to take a teaching position full time because when they call you for an audition you have to go! You can’t say, can you wait till schools out?
It was funny because when I was at the university of Missouri, Columbia and wanted to declare an education major, I went to the office and the secretary handed me the form for elementary education, I asked for the K through 12 form because I really wanted to teach Junior High and High School. She looked at me and said, “You can’t.” I asked why and she said, “You’re too small.” I looked at her and I blinked and asked, “What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?” She replied that, “You’d never have any respect from kids that were bigger than you.” So I walked down the hall to my advisors office, and he went back and told her, “Give her the forms, she can teach anybody she wants to teach.” And he made the woman apologize to me.
The funny thing was I always ended up being the most beloved and respected teacher in the school because we’d have the first day, and I’d say, “You can ask me questions, don’t be rude but ask questions and we’ll discuss it and then we won’t talk about it any more. It becomes a non issue, my size is a non issue. I’m still your teacher, I’m still older than you. I’m here for you to learn from me and I’ll learn from you.” And it always worked. People would think it was funny because during break time I’d be walking through campus and there would be these big kids following me calling, “Miss deRousse, Miss deRousse, Miss deRousse”. People from farms said it reminded them of banty hens which sit on big eggs and before long after they hatch the babies are much bigger than the mother but they’re still following heraround! They thought the kids following me reminded them of that.
TBN.com: When and how did you know that you wanted to be an actor?
Marcia: Because I was different anyway, I learned early on that I could either use that, or I was going to get slaughtered by it. So I became the class clown, plus I was the smart kid; I had that strike against me as well. I realized I could either learn to have people laugh with me or at me. I could entertain them and have them on my side or I could have them picking on me. I would actually go to bed at night and pray, “Please, God, please give me a good sense of humor, let me be funny. ” And one day it just happened!
That was in Junior High School and I thought, “This is great! This is really fun. I enjoy this.” So I was in the speech and the drama classes and did all the school plays. When I went to college I believed that I was going to teach special ed, I’d really intended to do that but I walked past the theater department one day and walked in and that was it! I thought, “Oh no, this is home. This is where I’m supposed to be.” So fairly early on I knew. When the family would get together and I had a captive audience I would put on a little show. I’d think, “You can’t go anywhere. We’re going to make sure I get to do something.”
TBN.com: What was your very first performance and how did it go?
Marcia: I did stand up comedy after I graduated high school. They were doing a fundraiser in my hometown and they needed somebody funny to keep the show going. I happened to know the guy that was the MC from school and he said, “Why don’t you just come and do some of this?” because I’d developed little characters like Lillie Tomlin. He thought I should come and do it to keep the show going. That night, when I was finished, I walked out and got a standing ovation. I thought, “OK! This is what I want to do!” I think that’s why, even going onto college and doing theater (it’s still my favorite). That energy of having a live audience right there. If you throw love out to them they’re going to give it back to you. That’s when I realized, “OK this is what I’m really supposed to do.” So that’s what sticks in my head as the, “aHA!” moment that this is what I really want to do.
TBN.com: Clearly, then, you prefer theater?
Marcia: Theater is my favorite BUT you can’t really make money in LA in theater. It’s really difficult to do. If you want to make a living in theater you need to be in New York or London or somewhere besides here. There’s a lot of what’s called, “equity waiver theater’, I’m a member of actors equity also. There’s a lot of that which is 99 seats or less. And I do it because I have to do theater every so often or I just go out of my mind.
So theater is my favorite because you get an immediate response. You know that people enjoy you.. or don’t! Whatever the case may be you know immediately. When they don’t at least you have a few seconds to change your gear a little bit. It’s the most challenging and it’s the one I love the most and I think it’s interesting because Alan Ball worked and theater, and Stephen, of course, loves theater. And I heard he and Alex exchanging information about theater, so even though I didn’t talk to Alex about theater, I’m sure he’s done it quite a bit too.
So it seems like the people at True Blood like theater actors. I think partly because if you can do theater, you can do anything; and maybe I’m just being conceited, but it’s a very disciplined field. You have to really rehearse and develop and grow and learn. And then every night, when you walk out [on stage] you have one shot that night. There’s no retakes! I think that discipline of theater actors is appreciated at True Blood.
TBN.com: It mentions in your biography that you were ‘discovered’ standing in a bank line, can you tell that story?
Marcia: When I first moved out here, I had my teaching degree in hand and was working at Braille Institute. I is on the corner of Vermont and Melrose which is in the Hollywood area. I was taking acting classes and developing. My acting teacher at the time was Gerald McRaney who went on to be a big star in “Simon and Simon”. I was a very ’serious’ actor. I went up to the bank at lunch time to deposit my check on a Friday afternoon.
There was probably a little PMS going on, I was a little on the grumpy side and the bank line was long and I was irritated. This little guy came up and tapped me on the shoulder and I said, “WHAT?” and he said, “Oh! Have you heard about the movie that Billy Barty is doing called ‘Under the Rainbow?” And I said, “No.” I mean I was awful! I look back on it now and I just want to slap myself. He said, “Well he’s still looking for more little people to be in it and here’s his phone number, I’m going to write it down for you. Why don’t you give him a call and tell him that Ed Valentine told you to call?” I’m thinking, “OK everyone’s a producer here in Hollywood, I might as well take it or he won’t leave me alone!” So I took his card and put it in my pocket.. and I was called up next in the bank line and when I turned around after he was gone. I had started thinking, “What a jerk you were.” It’s really not how I am but it was just one of those times!
That was on a Friday and on Sunday, I was hanging my jacket up and found it and thought, “Well, I’ll call this number and see who this really is.” And it really was Billy Barte! And he really was looking for more people. When I told him the story he just thought it was the funniest story and he told me to come on over and long story short I got hired to be in the movie, “Under the Rainbow’ and that was my first working job. That was in December when I had only gotten out here in September. Again, it was all meant to be.
TBN.com: What was it like playing ‘mom’ to Matthew McConaughey and Gary Oldman in “Tiptoes”?
Marcia: Oh my goodness! That was absolutely astounding! They are two magnificent actors! I didn’t realize what a wonderful actor Matthew is until I was on the set. I was thrilled, of course, because I thought it would be nice to work with this gorgeous man. And he IS gorgeous! Like Stephen and Alex, he is even more beautiful in person. When I met him and worked with him and realized how smart and sharp and on target he was.. and how giving! What a giving actor he is. He makes sure that everyone has their moment to shine. He and I sat and talked and got to know each other a lot.
Gary was a little more, maybe reticent and shy. But he also had prosthetics, because he played a little person. So he was in the make-up area quite a bit, he wasn’t out with us as much as Matthew was. It was almost like an out of body experience to be working with them. One day we had a scene with Kate Beckinsale who played my daughter-in-law. We were at the dinner table and there was a break and we’re all sitting there just chatting and Matthew popped up and reached over and patted my hand and said to Gary, “Mom was about five when you were born, but that’s Hollywood ain’t it mom?” It was a really wonderful experience and I really enjoyed it. I figure I’m one lucky woman. Look at the men that I’m working with!
TBN.com: Can you describe who and/or what your character in True Blood is?
Marcia: I had read the book, my friend Pattie Tierce who was in a play, “the Sugar Bean Sisters” with me, the one [play] where I was runner-up for best actress, had done a True Blood episode. And one day when we were rehearsing she said, “I’ve got to get home so I can watch this episode.” So I watched it and was immediately hooked! Then when I read the books and the character of Dr. Ludwig I thought, “Oh my God! Wouldn’t this be great!” But in the book she looked pretty different to me and knowing how Hollywood can stay true to type I thought, “Well gosh.” So it was in the back of my mind and I thought it would be such a wonderful thing because I saw her as very pragmatic, as I played her. Very pragmatic and matter of fact. And she is a doctor; she is also a healer which you sort of hear about. And I honestly don’t know a whole lot more about the other stuff. She doesn’t just use medicine. I saw her as being fearless, totally fearless. She will work with them, the vampires and the other-worldly people. She probably charges through the nose. She probably makes a months salary every time she goes in and works with them. But she’s also not afraid of them. There’s probably something in her back pocket telling her they’re not going to hurt her, anyway. They do need her because she’s one of the few that will work with them. But she needs them too. She’s a character!
TBN.com: Is it a recurring role?
Marcia: I hope so, in the book it is. She comes back twice more in the books. One of my friends who’s a real True Blood addict said, “I think those folks ought to have Dr. Ludwig on speed dial because they’re always getting hurt.” You never know, because look what they did with Lafayette! He died in the books but in the series they brought him back. It’s funny, this morning on my Facebook [Editor's note: her Facebook name is marcia.derousse for those that would like to friend her] I took the test to find out “Which True Blood character are you?” and I turned out to be Lafayette! And I thought, “This is perfect because not only do I love his character but he comes back!” So you never know. I have no inkling at all of what they’re going to do but who knows, if they decide to, they can bring her back.
TBN.com: I was going to ask you if you’re a fan of the show but you already told us that. You seem to be anticipating my questions!
Marcia: Well I’m psychic!
TBN.com: What appeals to you regarding the show?
Marcia: One thing that really strikes me is that it is addressing so many of the prejudices that this world has that’s focused towards the vampires. And they address that, they show how ugly it is to be looked down upon and separated. And with the vampires they’re weaving in the shape shifters according to the books, the werewolves. Again, I don’t have any idea what they’re anticipating doing. But they are bringing in all these creatures that for me, being such an imaginative kid, I always believed they were real. In my head, they were real. So seeing them on the show, I like these characters. I like these beings. I like them so I wouldn’t be afraid of them.. except maybe Eric! But Dr. Ludwig’s not! I think they show the humanity in these characters and I think that’s beautiful.
For me, someone being different and looking different… I know, come Monday when I go out, I’ll be recognized because every time I’m on TV or in a movie, I am. But I’m recognized anyhow because I’m different enough. And it’s OK. I love it and enjoy it and it’s alright with me, but it’s showing the humanity [True Blood] and the fact that being set apart and being picked on is not right. I love that. I love the fact that they are likeable characters. Those beings, the vampires, the shape-shifters.. I’d go sit down with them. I’d go to a party with them because they’re just likeable.
TBN.com: Is there anything about filming True Blood that’s different than other shows that you’ve worked on? Anything that’s more challenging or more enjoyable?
Marcia: I found it really enjoyable in that they are the classiest group of people I’ve ever worked with in my life. From Alan Ball all the way down. Very nice and friendly. Very accommodating and very professional. Everybody is so professional, so well prepared. Everything works like clockwork. I’ve been on a lot of sets and I have never seen such precision in the way that everything works out. Of course, the three people that I worked with, Anna, Stephen and Alex have all worked together quite a bit but they never made me feel like an outsider, not for one second.
At the table read, my take on Dr. L, there were things that were funny. Now Dr. Ludwig would fall over dead if she thought she was funny. But I knew she was supposed to be funny. And people were cracking up and thought she was funny. And as I was leaving I heard Anna Paquin say, “Oh you’re funny!” She was coming towards me and put out her hand and said, “I’m Anna and I wanted to meet you because we’re going to work together. I’m thinking to myself, “Yes I know who you are.” But I introduced myself and went on and I thought to myself, “How sweet!” Then I was in the make up chair and Stephen came and sat in the make up chair next to me (eat your heart out! [Editor's note: We are, We ARE!]) but he did the same thing. He said, “Hello, I’m Stephen” and I wanted to say, “I have not been living under a rock, I know who you are!” but being professional I said, “How do you do, it’s nice to meet you.”
His [Stephen's] dog came in with him and his dog straight up to me, because dogs always know when you can talk to them, the dog came straight up to me and said, “Hi! I want you to tell him that I’m not a dog!” I sat there for a second then looked at him and said, “Your friend here says to tell you that he’s not a D-O-G.” He looked at me and he blinked and said, “Well that’s exactly what he thinks!” Well that’s what he told me. So he thought that was pretty funny. They all treated me as if I’d been there forever as well and that was just lovely. And that doesn’t always happen either.
TBN.com: Are there types of roles that you’re hoping to do, that you haven’t had the chance to do yet?
Marcia: I’ve always been good at feisty little old ladies, Estelle Getty type characters. I do those on stage a lot. I would just love to do that type of character on a sit com or a show. Number one you can get by with absolutely everything. Those old ladies get to say what they want to and nobody gets mad. They just say, “Oh, that’s cute!”
Also, something that doesn’t necessarily say, “Little Woman” on the call. Because I am first of all a human being. But that’s a fight that all people that are different, whether it’s little people or people with disabilities.. we have to work just a little bit harder than everybody else. We have to be just a little better; we have to shine just a little brighter. I’m working on it! I did audition for that kind of role on a sit-com the day that my kittycat Snowflake died. I knew she was dying and she told me to go, I didn’t want to leave her but that is actually still pending to do a sit-com with that role so keep your fingers crossed. Because again, she’s a feisty one! I don’t know how I get these feisty roles!
TBN.com: What further projects do you have in the works?
Marcia: I have two indie films that I’m going to be working on this summer. One is called “Pie Head” where I play a grandma in that one, it’s really cute. The second one is going to be a real joy. It’s still untitled but it’s with Joey Travolta’s group and I’m co-staring with Jerry Jewell who’s one of my dearest friends.
… And then, after Sunday night, my mouth to God’s ears, people will realize, “Oh yes, she is still around.” It goes in cycles. Merideth Eaton got everything for a long time, and God bless her I’m glad she got the work that she got. She’s very talented and very beautiful. But this one was my turn! The girl that auditioned with me, also a dear friend of mine, and there were only two of us at the audition-two little blondes, she made Dr. Ludwig compassionate. When she told me that I thought, “I’m sorry Desire, I hate to tell you this, but I don’t think you’re getting this one.” It was just meant for me to have that particular role and this is a hugely popular show.
Out here, my doctor is in Beverly Hills and I went over for a check-up the other day and there were billboards everywhere! True Blood, True Blood, True Blood! And now, “True Blood Perfume: attract a human!” [Ecko Unltd] [Editor's note: Where do I get a bottle of 'Attract a Vampire' perfume?] It hit home to me; this is a big deal! I’m glad I didn’t know exactly how big a deal it was when I went for the audition because I probably would have stood around tongue tied. Here I was with the two big sex symbols. Punching them in the arm and treating them like buddies.
I have to tell you this because everyone loves him [Stephen], and they should! At the end of the day which was a really long day, because my stuff could be done in one day, I was holding my eyes open with toothpicks. Someone came up and put an arm around me, I turned and it was Stephen. He kissed me on the cheek and said, “I just wanted to tell you how lovely it was to meet you, Marcia, and I look forward to working with you again. Is that sweet?! And, of course, I didn’t wash my cheek for about weeks! We were just all milling around, waiting to see if we had to shoot again, and just to have him do that! He didn’t have to! It was so sweet. So he is really as nice as everyone believes him to be. Very nice and very sweet and even more handsome in person.
I think the show will go as long as they want it to. With Charlaine Harris working on book ten, it could go ten years. And they can add their own things in so you don’t know exactly what’s going to happen! And Alan is brilliant. Just being in the room with his energy is almost overpowering because he’s just brilliant. I am a little tongue tied around him.
TBN.com: We have heard that you’re also a medium, psychic, animal communicator, energy and prayer healer, and can sense people’s past lives. Can you talk about that work a bit?
Marcia: It’s something that I’ve always had. I was raised in the Pentecostal church and was told that that was wrong so I tamped it down but it would pop back up. My parents were very spiritual too. They never tried to stop me but then I’d go to church and I was told I’d go to hell. But then when my dad died when I was fifteen, he started coming to me immediately. I thought, “Oh no, no, push it back, I can’t talk to him it’s a sin.” But when my mom died in 2000, I thought, “that’s it, I’m going to start this again” and little by little I started getting back in the groove and working with people. I see, I hear, I sense, I feel spirits from the other side. They’ll come to me and talk to me.
On the set, Alex walked in and seemed to want to talk to me so I turned and looked at him and he said, “I understand you’re clairvoyant.” I said, “Yes.” and he said, “Well I don’t really believe in that but I know this woman who can do blah blah blah..” And I said, “That’s ok, you don’t have to believe in it and I’m not here to convince you.” In a big group like that it’s best if I shut it off anyway. But I saw an energy coming in behind him offering to prove it to him but I thought, “No, no, no. We’ll wait till another time.” Someone coming in to say hi and I thought, no, I have work to do. The spirits know who can see them and hear them and sense them and talk to them and they’ll hone in on me. They think, “we’ve got a live one here!”
I also get psychic information from my spirit guide. And also, whoever I’m sitting with, their spirit guide can also give information. My lead spirit guide, who talks to me the loudest and gives me the most information., for the longest time I called him Mr. Smartass because he WAS. He’d give really Smart assed answers when people would ask questions. When I looked at him he looked like a cowboy because spirits have lived, they incarnated. And he looked like a cowboy. He finally said, “If you’ve got to call me something, call me by my name, it’s Jeb.” He’s very quiet and very profound and can be very loving. If people need loving information he can be. People will ask questions and he goes and gets the answer. Sometimes he says, “Maybe you ought not tell them this.” And if he says that I’ll just say, “well we’re not getting a real clear answer” because obviously the person is not going to accept it and I don’t want to upset them. Although, sometimes the truth just has to come out. But if it’s not something that’s really helpful or a benefit then I don’t say it.
But my favorite are the animals. Talking to them. They are straight, pure love. I work with animals that are here and I can work with animals on the other side too. But they are just so perfect. They are here to teach us, and to love and be loved, that’s it! I love them much more than dealing with people.
The last couple of years I’ve been meeting men that are past life men. When I meet them, I realize I know them. And sure enough, we’ll meet each other and it’s as if we’re the only ones in the room even with all these glamorous women around. And I think, “Oh no, here we go again. It didn’t work last time or the time before that so why are we trying it again?”
TBN.com: Do you visit fan sites to read about yourself or True Blood?
Marcia: No. But I will now!
TBN.com: If Dr. Ludwig died what would you want on her headstone?
Marcia: Took No Prisoners
TBN.com: Do you have a favorite charity?
Marcia: The ASPCA, I do fundraising for them.
TBN.com: Do you twitter and would you like your fans to know what your twitter name is?
Marcia: I have a Twitter account but I’m not good at using it. People say ‘I’m following you”, and the only thing I know how to do is write back and say, “You’ll be very bored because I don’t know how to do this”. But my twitter name is smartlilblonde if anyone wants to follow me and then maybe I’ll learn how!
TBN.com: Are there any questions you would like to ask the fans?
Marcia: If you went to the hospital emergency room, and Dr. Ludwig came in to treat you, what would your reaction be?
Marcia: I expect people are going to be tickled by Dr. Ludwig. The response even in table read was very good. Then there were things added afterwards so I expect people are going to enjoy her and live vicariously through her. She’s not going to be going to USC school of medicine to teach bedside manner to the med students but she comes in and takes care of business.
We here at TrueBloodNet.com were certainly tickled pink by Marcia! She was very fun to talk to and we are eagerly awaiting her appearance on True Blood this Sunday. We can only imagine how much fun it would be to ‘play doctor’ with Eric, Bill, Sam and Pam.
from Kristin
Kelly in Amsterdam, Netherlands: Please give us some scoop on Alexander Skarsgård from True Blood!
Not only is Alex the show's leading eye candy, but he also serves as the show's official Swedish-English translator. Costar Kristin Bauer, who plays Eric's "serial killer baby" Pam, tells us, "They keep writing me lines [to read in] Swedish, and Alexander calls and says the Swedish on my phone. Hopefully he's not lying to me about what I'm saying. That's what my boyfriend does—he's from Africa, and he's teaching me Afrikaans, and I don't know what I'm saying, but he laughs."

also I read something about Eric helping Lafayette recover by letting him feed off him!!!!! that's some strong ass vamp blood, wonder what effect it will have on L?
ok, the email I got from HBO and posted in TB news, well I couldnt figure out how to do it. Thanks to EricNorthman.net I have the answer, well at least to the Eric secret scenes. Click on Eric, then his on page on the table are Lafayettes neck manacle and a hatchet. Click them and you see a short vid of the scene where Eric gives L blood and one that looks like Eric's past, about Godric's kidnapping and Godric making Eric!!!! I will look for more on the other character's page. http://www.hbo.com/trueblood/season2/
so cool!
Bill's is good too, only his and Eric have 2 scenes, Bill's is with Lorena yelling at him.
I havent bought Fangoria mag in years but there are scans on Skarsgardfans of an article Alex did with pics of Godric and more.

'True Blood' Vampire Valerie Cruz: 'The Coolest Shows Are on Cable'
Brooke Tarnoff, PopEater
There's a chance you don't yet recognize the name Valerie Cruz, but if you have a cable box, you've probably seen her face. The unreasonably lovely actress has had pivotal roles in some of cable TV's most groundbreaking series, like 'Nip/Tuck' and 'Dexter.' Cruz appears next in Alan Ball's Showtime drama 'True Blood' as compassionate vampire Isabel. She took a few rare minutes of free time - during a vacation, even - to chat with us about her exciting work.
When are we going to see you on 'True Blood'?
"I don't know if it's this Sunday or the following Sunday." [Editor's note: It's the next new episode.]
That's how you know you've succeeded - when you're not 100% sure when you're appearing on TV. If I'm on the local news, everyone I've ever met knows when to see me.
"I should know! I just wasn't sure how far along they are. I'm really excited. I loved it, I loved working on it. I don't know, sometimes it's just hard to watch yourself. You kind of shy away from knowing exactly when - and then you surprise yourself - oh, there I am!"
How did you prepare for the role of Isabel?
"I read the second novel, which is what the season is based on. It was actually really beneficial to me. They don't really deal with [some of the finer details] directly in the script, so I had to make a lot of those decisions for myself."
I know the show has expanded or drastically altered plot points from the book series. Is Isabel's plot line fairly faithful to the book?
"Yeah, I think it is. Isabel's relationship with [lair-mate] Stan is more antagonistic than it's written in the book. She's a lot more compassionate than most of the other vampires. She wants to find a way to coexist peacefully with humans, rather than having complete disregard for human life. Most of the vampires that you meet - they're more of the vein that humans - they can't really be bothered. Isabel is unique in that sense. It's the first time you meet another vampire like [Stephen Moyer's character] Bill, who has a little more reverence for human life. She's older than Bill. With age, having walked the Earth for 600 years, your sensibilities start to change."
Speaking of age, here's an odd coincidence: in preparing for this interview, I learned that we have the same birthday - same year and all.
"Are you serious?! That's so funny. I have a special place in my heart for Cancers. It's a very special day. I've never met someone with my birthday."
I know, never! Are you looking forward to it?
"I'm kind of disturbed by it. Every year, I'm kind of like, 'Oh, ouch, it's gonna hurt.' I don't know how I feel about this birthday, I'm going to let it sneak up on it me.
"I've been dating someone who was born in 1980. It's weird. It's a little strange, there are cultural references - like, I really like 'Family Guy.' There are so many references - having been cognizant in the '80s, there are show references they make and political references they make. I know it kind of eludes him a little bit. Even cartoons, the 'Smurfs' and stuff - I remember Saturday morning cartoons and stuff, and being totally into it, and the 'X-Men' and watching 'Superfriends' when you got home from school."
'Superfriends'! Aw, Gleek! I wanted a monkey so bad.
"I know, right?! And the Wonder Twins. I wanted a twin so we could be the Wonder Twins. It was such a unique time - the whole Cold War thing, growing up during that time. It seems like 4 or 5 years wouldn't make a difference, but it does. Because you're already on your way to forming who are you at five or six, and they're just born. The person that I'm dating is more mature, he's had a lot of life experience. But you can't recreate history. You either were in that time-frame or not."
Agreed. But getting back to the reason we're here... Your work in 'Dexter' was really phenomenal, and you followed your character's husband down a really dark path. Did you know where that character was going? In a movie, you know everything you need to know about your plot before you start shooting - for a show like 'Dexter', how much do you know in advance?
"I think every script is a surprise, especially with big shows like 'Dexter' and 'True Blood', sometimes you're hard-pressed to get your script. I mean, they're so wanting to keep everything a secret. I think if you do research before you go into a show - for 'Dexter', every year there was somebody pretty depraved that was introduced to the mix. A nemesis, to some extent, for Dexter. I think you had after a few episodes in, you could see where it was going to go, as a character and sitting through the table reads, watching what Jimmy [Smits] would do. And those table reads that we would have of the script - I think it's a lot of why some of these shows do so well. They're so necessary. Actually, on screen, he and I wouldn't have as much interaction as we had at the table reads. I was able to see that angry side that I would have to discuss with Julie [Benz] in some ancillary scene. It was really critical and good for me to see Jimmy exploring that kind of anger and darkness in the table reads- I wouldn't be there on the days he shot those scenes with Michael [C. Hall].
"It's a lot different from a film - there's no linear planning, and you can make some plans and make some choices, but definitely they might change. You don't know exactly where your character's going or exactly what's going to happen. That is the challenge with television. You just have to build the personality and build the history and then as far as moving forward, it's kind of like life - you don't know where it's going to take you."

You've done a disproportionate number of book adaptations - 'Dexter', 'Dresden Files,' 'True Blood' - do those provide unique challenges for you?
"I feel like with 'Dresden Files', people were so passionate about that book series - and they kind of went off-kilter by casting a Latin person as the Murphy character - people really needed to get over that, and they did. I love having a book to reference, and I think it's great too - as a viewer, I know when I have a favorite book and it comes out as a movie, it's fun. It's exciting that you get to see these characters you've had in your mind's eye actualized visually, and I think it's a lot of fun. It's more challenging, in a sense, in that you want to be as good as what people have had going on in their heads for X amount of years, while the books have been out, and to stay true to the character. I have to say it's really wonderful, particularly because I love to read.
"I think that the books that are adapted into TV shoes because the characters are so complex, there's a lot to do with them. I think a lot of the material that comes from books, as far as television adaptations are concerned, have that same richness in the landscape and complexity of character that you don't see with regular scripted television. I feel that sometimes TV can be a bit formulaic, especially now with the networks struggling so much, to take a leap out into the other side, outside of what they know works - the procedurals and the hospital dramas - it's really hard for them. I think you see a lot of the coolest shows ending up on cable."
Your career demonstrates that, certainly - the projects you've worked on have been some of the edgiest, medium-stretching shows on TV thus far.
"Looking back on my career, I feel I've been really lucky. I know I set out trying to fight a stereotype of being Latin, and wanting to find something dynamic and diverse. I remember with 'Nip/Tuck', it was the first studio test that I'd ever one. They actually wrote that character for me. I had auditioned for Joely Richardson's role and I was obviously too young, but Warner Brothers was like, 'We like this girl, we need somebody Latin on the show, let's write her in.' It was a life-changing experience, because like you said, that show completely changed the landscape - pushed the envelope of what was out there at that time.
"I think that people who are pushing the landscape in television - the Alan Balls, the Ryan Murphys, these guys are already thinking outside the box. Even the casting process, the networks are often going after a name, they're not going after an unknown, they're not going out for someone who just walked in with her first studio test. They certainly wouldn't write a character for her. The creators of these shows - there's less pressure on them to follow a formula, like 'Well, she's been on a number of networks shows, and she's under contract to ABC so we'll just give her another pilot.' I feel blessed.
"I think you end up doing better with material that you respond than material that you don't. I would hate to make it seem like I'm some kind of elitist, and I've never gone out for some network show. I definitely have, but again, we're in a time of people not taking a lot of risks. It's worked out in my favor, thus far."
. Click them and you see a short vid of the scene where Eric gives L blood and one that looks like Eric's past, about Godric's kidnapping and Godric making Eric!!!!
I can't wait to see this scene. :)
Brian, the scene with Eric giving L blood and possibly turning him, as we see in the promo when Lafayette jumps on Jason, is huge. In the books, Eric turned Pam but it seemed like the only other person since that time that he gave blood to was Sookie. So Alan B is really making a major break with the books with this. AB might never address Eric's feelings as in the books for Sookie, in the books Eric is more considerate of Sookie than Bill, well up till book 8 anyway.

Eric visits Lafayette for a favor, Sookie promises to have a proper birthday for Tara after she gets back from Dallas and the new waitress knows a lot more about Sam.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lafayette has an unpleasant surprise from Eric but having barely escaped Fangtasia, he finds himself reluctantly pulled back into Eric's orbit. "True Blood" will be back on July 12, with the fourth episode of season 2, titled "Shake and Fingerpop". The new waitress at Merlotte's which is played by Ashley Jones, will reveal what she knows about Sam.
"Eric makes people beholden to him," Nelsan Ellis who plays Lafayette previously explained his character's complicated relationship with Eric. "He did it to Sookie, and now he does force Lafayette to work for him to repay him for something he's done for him." Ellis added that Lafayette "stays with the vampires basically throughout the season."
Also on "Shake", Bill, Sookie and Jessica head to Dallas to carry out Eric's vampire-reconnaissance mission, but a surprise awaits them at the airport. At the Light of Day Institute, Jason falls victim to a practical joke, but has the last laugh when the Newlins anoint him for a higher calling.
Maryann throws Tara a birthday party at Sookie's, attracting much of Bon Temps to its Bacchanalian revelry. Sam postpones his departure from town to attend the bash, connecting with Daphne in the process.

Jason makes retribution to the vampires, gets closer to Sookie in the process and acts heroic. Meanwhile, Jessica continues wreaking havoc and hooking up with Hoyt. Sookie does some traveling, gets closer to Eric and Evan Rachel Wood finally makes an appearance as the Vampire Queen of Louisiana.

‘True Blood’: A Trio Of Spoilers To Fill Last Sunday’s Bloody Void
Posted July 7th, 2009 by joshwigler in TV News
http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2009/07/07/true-blood-a-trio-of-spoilers-to-fill-last-sundays-bloody-void/
Down in the dumps that there wasn’t a new episode of “True Blood” last Sunday? Fret not, my blood-craving brethren — like the fictional Tru Blood drink touted on the show, the Internet itself is often a sufficient replacement for that vampiric craving in your belly.
Case in point: just yesterday, E! Online revealed some fangtastic news about the show’s upcoming events. From Jason Stackhouse’s character arc to a bevy of new vampire characters, there was no shortage of information about the future of “True Blood” on display.
We’ve got the spoiler-filled rundown after the jump, so get those fangs on and let’s get to it!
While telepathic Sookie Stackhouse is knocking boots and making nice with vampire boyfriend Bill Compton, her brother Jason isn’t quite as warm-hearted towards Bill’s species. He’s currently undergoing leadership training with the Fellowship of the Sun, an anti-vampire movement, though he’s had second thoughts about his role in the organization.
Actor Ryan Kwanten (pictured above with Anna Paquin) revealed to E! that his character wouldn’t be away from Sookie for too long, and once they reunite, their paths will be the same. Said Ryan, “There will be [a reunion between the Stackhouse siblings] and quite an electric one, too, where we gang up for the greater good.”
Meanwhile, several new characters are slated to join the “True Blood” roster as Sookie, Bill and Eric head to Dallas. The mysterious Godric (Allan Hyde) will appear in the July 19th episode, accompanied by vampire lieutenants Stan (Ed Quinn) and Isabel (Valerie Cruz). And, at some point we will finally see Vampire queen Sophie-Ann Leclerq, who is played by Evan Rachel Wood.
“Isabel runs with the Dallas vampires, but she kind of becomes friends with both Bill and Eric,” Valerie described of her role. “And she likes Sookie. [Isabel] has a penchant for humans, and she’s sensitive to this love story they have.”
And even though the season finale is still several episodes away, the events of that episode occur pretty quickly after the events of the first season.
“The second-season finale is only two weeks after the end of the first season,” revealed Carrie Preston, who plays waitress Arlene. “Things get crazy in Bon Temps, Louisiana.”
What do you think about Jason’s promised reunion with Sookie? Are you excited for the new characters? How crazy will it get in Bon Temps?
I swore I posted this yesterday but dont see it anywhere, weird.

Warning: Bloody good 'True Blood' spoilers
Jul 8, 2009, 02:09 PM | by Michael Ausiello
Categories: News, True Blood
HBO just released the titles and extended loglines for all five of True Blood's August episodes and man, they are juicy. How juicy? So juicy that I'm inclined to forgive them for withholding fresh Blood from me last Sunday. Have a look-see yourself...
Aug. 2: "Release Me"
Betrayed by Daphne, Sam finds himself in an unenviable predicament at the hands of Maryann and her wild-eyed minions. Imprisoned with Hugo in the F.O.T.S. church, Sookie uses her telepathic powers to reach out to Bill, who’s being detained at the hotel by a stubbornly obsessive Lorena. After crossing a line with the Newlins, a fearful Jason tries to sever his ties with the Fellowship of the Sun, but gets plenty of resistance from Steve and his enforcer Gabe.
Crave more Blood? Good 'cause four more spoilery paragraphs await you after the jump...
Aug. 9: "Timebomb"
Sookie’s captivity takes an unexpected turn when Eric arrives to do his master’s bidding on the eve of the Fellowship’s lockdown. In Bon Temps, Sam finds himself in hot water after making a gruesome discovery at Merlotte’s, and Andy proves no help in coming to his defense. Sent home by Bill, Jessica and Hoyt learn that when it comes to sex, every time is the first time. Tara and Eggs devour a mysterious meal prepared by Maryann, with unexpected results. After Jason pays off his debt to the vampires, Godric looks to enlighten his more single-minded followers.
Aug. 16: "I Will Rise Up"
A wounded Eric plays Sookie for a sucker, to Bill’s dismay, and ends up getting inside her head. Later, Sookie and Jason bond over their recent adventures. Blaming Eggs for Tara’s bruises and bizarre behavior, Lafayette and Lettie Mae try to figure out a way to pry their kin from Maryann’s clutches. Hoyt defends his relationship with Jessica to Maxine, to no avail. Jailed by Bud along with a group of Bon Temps revelers, Sam looks for a way to escape and avoid capture by an increasingly obsessed Maryann. In Dallas, Eric and the vampires defend their recent actions to Nan Flanagan and are shocked when Godric decides to take the fall for their PR disaster.
Aug. 23: "New World in My View"
Sookie, Bill, and Jason return to a Bon Temps turned upside down by Maryann. Lured to Merlotte’s by Arlene, Sam and Andy find cold comfort in their refuge from a group of bloodthirsty revelers. Bill discovers that traditional vampire techniques don’t work on Maryann; Hoyt and Jessica try to keep a lid on Maxine’s madness; and Sookie tries to push through the darkness consuming Tara. With all hell breaking loose, Jason takes the bull by the horns to rescue Sam, at least for the moment.
Aug. 30: "Frenzy"
With the crisis in Bon Temps careening out of control, Bill seeks out the advice of Sophie-Anne (Evan Rachel Wood), the Vampire Queen of Louisiana, but must exercise patience before she gives him critical information. Meanwhile, Sookie and Lafayette find that protecting Tara from herself is more difficult than they anticipated; a desperate Sam turns to an unlikely source for assistance; and Jessica tests Hoyt’s allegiance to Maxine.

True Blood filming season finale in Baton RougePosted by Shadaliza On July - 11 - 2009
Cast and crew of True Blood are filming part of the Season 2 finale this week in Baton Rouge and Clinton. Several local news media were invited to the set yesterday to conduct interviews with the cast. So watch out for info on the following newspapers and tv stations:
- The Advocate (Baton Rouge newspaper)
- WBRZ - Channel 2
- The Watchman (Clinton newspaper)
- The Reveille (LSU newspaper)
- NBC 33
- Around Town Show David Spunt - WAFB -Channel 9
- Capital City Lagnaippe (Mid-City newspaper)
- Photographer for Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visitors Bureau & 225 Magazine
The show’s creators spent weeks scouting locations for the fictional town of Bon Temps. They found what they were looking for in Clinton, the town in East Feliciana Parish. The production will also film in Baton Rouge at several locations.
“It’s really important for them (the actors) to get a chance to be in Louisiana and feel the heat and see the town,” said executive producer Gregg Fienberg.
Governor Bobby Jindal on Thursday enacted a law that would give projects like “True Blood” a 30 percent tax credit on whatever is spent in the state.
“Nothing really looks like the South except the South, so our show is set in Louisiana and that’s a big part of what works and what it is and it’s important to come down here and capture it,” said Anna Paquin.
“True Blood” will finish its second season of filming in the area over the weekend.

'True Blood' season 2 film crew takes over Clinton, La., then heads for New Orleans
by Dave Walker, TV columnist, The Times-Picayune
Monday July 13, 2009, 11:38 AM
HBO
'True Blood' stars Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin took a break from season 2 location shooting in Clinton, La., to visit New Orleans. Clinton, La. -- Standing in for fictional downtown Bon Temps, La., the blocks surrounding the East Feliciana Parish Courthouse looked like they'd been hit by a lusty tornado over the weekend.
The steamy HBO drama "True Blood" came to Clinton for several days of location shooting, and the town's streets (and trees) were strategically strewn with trash but mostly clothing, for a saucy storyline to play out in a few weeks on the show's 10th episode of the current season.
Saturday, shooting started at about noon and concluded after 2 a.m. Sunday. Wilting heat and humidity prevailed, broken occasionally by light rain.
Series leads Stephen Moyer (who portrays vampire/heartthrob/173-year-old Confederate Army veteran Bill Compton), Academy Award winner Anna Paquin (who plays Sookie Stackhouse and is Moyer's love interest on and off screen) and Ryan Kwanten (Sookie's brother Jason) were on hand for scenes as several dozen curious locals watched on from an out-of-frame.
The Louisiana-set drama, based on a series of popular vampire novels by Charlaine Harris, is mostly shot on back lots and soundstages in the Los Angeles area. Some location work for its first season was done around the Shreveport area. Scenes for three upcoming season-two episodes were shot over the weekend.
And -- incredibly, amazingly, appropriately - an ailing Clinton bat owes its life to "True Blood's" visit.
The tiny animal fell from a tree near the courthouse as the production was preparing to shoot a scene.
Crew medic Holly O'Quin, whose day job is nurse at Ochsner Health Center, leapt into action.
O'Quin called her brother, Jeff Galpin, a New Orleans stunt coordinator and animal wrangler for film-and-TV productions, who recommended that the baby bat be nursed back to health by feeding it regular doses of evaporated milk and egg whites, which O'Quin administered by needle-less syringe. Paquin, among many others on set, took great interest in the bat's recovery. (O'Quin reported Monday that the bat had recovered enough to fly away at the end of the production day.)
Dave Walker/The Times-Picayune
'True Blood' crew medic Holly O'Quin tends to an ailing bat on-set in Clinton. Sunday, on a day off from shooting, Moyer, Paquin and several production officials made a tourist trip to New Orleans. The visit culminated with a large dinner party at Galatoire's. (Deborah Ann Woll, who plays vampire conscript Jessica Hamby on the show, joined the group there.)
A couple of days earlier, Moyer made the drive into the city from the production's Baton Rouge base to wander the streets of the French Quarter - by himself - shooting pictures.
Yes, Bill Compton walked among us, only occasionally recognized.
"I saw a coffeehouse in a courtyard, and I wandered in there," said Moyer, a native of England, about his first-ever trip to New Orleans. "The coffee looked great. And sitting at the table were two New Orleans mimes, dressed in silver, having a coffee break.
"They were talking (but) went into mime (poses) as I walked past."
Moyer got his coffee and came back to the table and offered a gratuity in exchange for photographing the scene.
"This is the only thing she said," said Moyer of one of the mimes, approximating her thick "True Blood"-homage accent. " 'Anything for you, Bill Compton.'"

http://io9.com/5316389/true-bloods-christian-conservative-vampire+hater-speaks-out
We interviewed True Blood's vigilant vampire hater, played by Michael McMillian, and learned a little more about the Fellowship Of The Sun's televangelist golden boy, who says he's a cross between George Bush and Bruce Wayne.
We got the chance to chat via email with actor Michael McMillain, and learn a lot more vampire-loathing character, Steve Newlin, who's really a complicated enigma, combining fanaticism with a sense of compassion. There's even a bit of a King Arthur sprinkled into the fold of this character's persona.
What do you think about your character Steve Newlin as a person? He appears to have it all put together, but there's got to be something looming underneath it all (as is the way with all things True Blood).
This is why Steve's a fascinating character to me. He is a living ideology. It's like trying to figure out who [George W.] Bush really was, in some ways. Like, did he really think he was a hero? Did he really think he was a great Christian? Steve repeatedly speaks in terms of black and white — this "with us or against us" terminology we were so accustomed to hearing over the past decade. Is it all just bullshit? It's almost archaic in this modern day and age. I talked to Alan Ball and the writers about where Steve is coming from, and we all agreed on the same thing: he is absolutely being true to himself. He believes everything he says. He's driven by what he was raised to believe in and his conviction that his father was murdered by agents of evil. In some way's he's like Bruce Wayne. He's setting out to ensure that what happened to his family won't happen to anyone else. And, I mean, he has a point. Look what happened to Jessica. That scene in the first season, when she was kidnapped and turned, was a nightmare. So I'm not sure how troubled he really is, beyond the fact he's troubled by the growing acceptance and tolerance of Vampires.
How did you prep for Steve? I see your hair changed from last season, who's decision was that (we love the new look by the way)?
I grew up in the Midwest and had a lot of exposure to big religion. I went to church every Sunday — my mother even sang in the choir – and most families I knew where practicing Christians. I came from a more moderate church, but even at one point I had a Sunday school teacher who preached that Halloween was Satanic. She was eventually asked to step-down, but my point is that my idyllic suburban upbringing had aspects that were extremely conservative and peripherally racist and somewhat violent. My sister went to high school where kids wore homemade T-Shirts that read "Fagbusters." This was in the 90's! My family saw people waving "Jesus hates fags" signs at the grocery store when I was back there a few weeks ago. On the 4th of July! Absolutely batshit… So on an immediate level, I related to this type of character.
Beyond that, I read the books. I wanted to be as faithful as possible to Charlaine Harris's original vision because he's just so scary in the novels. I also spent a lot of time watching documentaries about the religious right, sermons on YouTube, lots of TBN, Ted Haggard, etc. Just trying to immerse myself in the mindset of contemporary religion and also modern-day cults. If you think the Light of Day Camp is ridiculous, then I dare you to watch Jesus Camp. That movie kept me up at night. There's obviously some Bush inspiration there, I think mostly because of the daddy issues, rhetoric and both men being from Texas. The hair style design was a collaboration between Alan and our lead hair stylist, Kelly Kline. I had come in with all this research done, saw the new ‘do in the mirror and went, "Oh. That's who he is." It was like seeing Steve truly for the first time. And it just gets bigger as the season goes on.
Do you think, do you even know if the Pastor is as crazy as he seems to be, with all his innuendos and weird quips?
I don't really look at Steve as "crazy." I tried to look at him like he was the good guy. He's the hero of his story. He's the one who is going to set the world to rights. Now, obviously, we're getting into some "crazy-talk" territory right there, but mostly I tried to play him as true to himself as I could be. I really hope some people may actually like him. But watching it back on TV, yeah, it certainly is creepy. I guess they knew what they were doing when they cast me.
Were you as hilariously uncomfortable as the rest of us during the Christian sexy dance to "Jesus Asked Me Out Today"? How do you get through the insanely campy scenes, laced as they are with sexual innuendo?
That scene was an absolute blast to shoot. Brian Buckner, the writer for that episode, wrote the lyrics to that song. It was just hilarious. Anna Camp (Mrs. Sarah Newlin) and I danced on the sidelines in character and just embraced it. She and Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse) both have the best senses of humor. A lot of my favorite moments between the three of us just kind of happened on set. We had a couple moments of improv that made it in – my favorite being when Ryan turns to look out the window during the dinner scene in episode three to see the "war going on out there" — but we were always inspired by what the writers had given us. Not to mention contributions from hair, makeup and costumes. I mean, sometimes we just couldn't look at each other without laughing. Audrey Fisher, our costume designer, is a genius. So much of her work informed the performance.
Do you have your own ring of honesty? Do you wear it out from time to time?
The ironic thing is that Steve does not wear a ring of honesty. Make of that what you will.
The best part about True Blood is the multi-faceted world building with the Fellowship, the Vampire league, vampire airplanes etc. What's something about the Fellowship of the Sun that we haven't seen yet or didn't make the cut? Are there anti-vampire campfire singalongs or a make-your-own-stake craft hour? Also do you get the lyrics to any of these songs and can you share it with us?
As the season goes along, the layers of the Fellowship get peeled back one by one. We've just learned, that the camp is a recruiting tool for this new elite army, "The Soldiers of the Sun," and we'll see more of that and the agenda there in upcoming episodes. We see that these guys really aren't fucking around. We'll also get into the heart of the Church itself, and get introduced to at least one important ritual. It ain't pretty. Sadly, I think most of the singing has happened for the season. Or maybe that's a good thing?
What's been the most fun to shoot so far and why?
I can't tell you because it hasn't happened yet, but you'll know it when you see it. Beyond that, the day out on the ATV, shooting paintballs with Ryan Kwanten was a lot of fun. Paintballs really can bring two men closer together. What other show allows its actors to drive around and pretend to kill vampires? That BBQ scene was also a favorite. Anna Camp was a real trooper, dancing around for Jason's fantasy. Lesser actresses would shy away for fear of looking stupid, but Anna committed! She managed to look seductive while essentially having a clown moment. And it was completely unrehearsed. The show provides so much room to play, and really, everyday on set was a joy.
What's it like having a TV wife?
I guess having a TV wife is pretty awesome. I don't have one in real life. But when I do, I hope she makes good pudding.
Sure, Sarah is Steve's draft picker, but what's the plan once these boys are in? You've convinced Jason to stay and hang out with the guys a little more, and teach him how to shoot vamps, but what's next? There's no way that's the end of the rabbit hole.
Again, that's part of watching how the season plays out, spoilers-be-damned. Seriously — spoilers are bad for you, kids! I will say that Jason, to Steve, represents many things that Steve isn't. Alan Ball has a great quote on the commentary to the first season DVD where he says something to the effect of Jason being the kind of guy that every other dude in town hates. But I think for all those same reasons — his charm, his killer looks — Steve loves him. I mean, what a great example of intelligent design! I think Steve was probably a pretty lonely kid. There's a guy in there that is just clamoring for a real friend. And as much as a warrior he sees in Jason, I think he's just as excited that he's made a close bond. That scene with them and the paintballs… Steve's really having an adolescent moment there he probably never got. It's sad, really. Steve, as "crazy" as he is, may wind up being a somewhat tragic figure. It was pointed out to me after I finished shooting that there's a rich Arthur/Lancelot dynamic playing out between him and Jason. I couldn't believe I didn't see it at the time. That's exactly what it is.
I see Sarah, the character, has a twitter account (whether it's officially sponsored or not), and do you have one?
Hmm. I don't think I do. I'm not sure I should burst the bubble here or not, but the actors are not the same people behind the character Tweets and facebook pages. That's all part of the viral campaign. My cousin recently learned that lesson when she wrote a personal message to "Steve" on facebook thinking it was me, in which she referred to me as "Butt-Cheeks." I got a message from "Steve's" writer saying, "Hey you might want to let this person know…"
Have you (or the show) ever received pro-vampire hate mail, or on the other hand, positive anti-vampire mail? You know support from those out there looking to end the vampire infestation?
I wouldn't be surprised. We have such a fervent fan following, but I don't really know. I do know they get a lot of fan art on the True Blood Wiki page. But, where's the Steve love? It's all about that Eric. Come on, peeps. Let's see some Newlin fan art!
We have to ask, what's it like working with Ryan Kwanten? Is he anything like Jason?
Ryan's a total pro. He's more reserved than Jason, and a hundred times smarter. He brings something fresh to a scene every take and never says "No" to an idea. It's a refreshing quality in Hollywood where so many actors are worried about looking cool. I love that he's essentially a leading man type, but he scores some of the series' funnier comedic moments. I think it's a testimony to the creative casting that happens on the show. He could have easily ended up playing "The Guy" on a prime-time soap, and done a great job, but True Blood has really given him a chance to go beyond his obvious type. I think it's somewhat the same story with Anna Paquin. Nobody who was familiar with the books saw her as Sookie. But she kicks ass and it's now impossible to picture anyone else in the role. She really owns it.
Right now it seems as though the Pastor's focused on recruiting a few good men for killing a few bad vamps. Any plans for global domination?
But of course. Case in point: Sarah says the first episode of the season, Steve "could be governor of Texas one day" if he "plays his cards right." And you know what happens to governors of Texas, right? Of course, Steve wouldn't see it as "domination." He'd see it as "salvation." It's all there in the Book of Revelations. It's Steve vs. The Apocalypse!
And finally what do True Blood fans have to look forward with your character?
He's an excellent tour guide…
2 new promos, new to me anyway.

spoiler for Episode 'I will Rise Up Again'
to anyone who read the book we know what Godric was up to with FOS, so I think his jumping on the bomb will be essentially the same thing. Found on

Every now and then an episode of a television series comes along that changes the way you see that particular series. HBO's True Blood has always been been a fun and often crazy roller coaster ride through some dark Southern swamplands (and through the darker corners of the heart) but I never thought it would touch upon the profound.
That's now changed.
I had the opportunity last night to watch next week's gripping episode of True Blood ("I Will Rise Up") and, the morning after, I'm still turning over this heartbreaking and beautiful installment in my mind. It's an episode that's a game-changer for True Blood inasmuch as it shifts the action from the physical desires of the flesh to something innately divine and, yes, profound and alters the playing field of the second season.
I'm not giving out any spoilers about just what happens in "I Will Rise Up," but if you want to know more about this brilliant installment of True Blood, keep reading.
Credit for this amazing episode goes not only to the stunning work of writer Nancy Oliver and director Scott Winant, but also to the truly extraordinary performances by actors Anna Paquin, Allan Hyde, Alexander Skarsgard, Deborah Ann Woll, Jim Parrack, and Stephen Moyer, to name just a few. Their magnificent turns in this episode elevate an already elegiac story into something penetrating and weighty.
Special kudos have to go out to newcomer Allan Hyde, who in just a few episodes has made Godric one of the most compelling and memorable vampires in recent memory. If you thought his presence in the most recent episode of True Blood had showcased Hyde's considerable skills, you might want to think again: this episode announces in no uncertain terms that a true talent has arrived.
When we last saw the vampires of Area Nine, Luke (Wes Brown) had detonated explosives (along with a cache of silver) inside Godric's nest and the episode begins seconds after the explosion. So who lives and who dies? That would be telling. But it's the aftermath of the attack by the Fellowship of the Sun that also provides one of the series' most shocking moments to date.
So what is "I Will Rise Up" about then? For one, it's about the notion of forgiveness, both in terms of the divine and the mundane. None of the characters on the series have been saints (it's rather hard to do so in a series overflowing with blood-thirsty vampires) but there are several scenes that speak to the redemptive power of compassion and grace.
The truth, as they say, will out in the end and so it does here as several secrets laid bare for all to see. Likewise, the episode deals not only with mercy but also with a mercenary craftiness that's as staggeringly bold as it is shocking... and one that forever changes the parameters of one of the series' central relationships. New alliances are forged, the bonds of friendship are severed, families reunited and ripped asunder, and evocative dreams point the way to a haunting new reality.
Several characters make decisions that will have lasting implications as we begin the race to the second season finale of True Blood. As terrifying as things have gotten for the residents of Bon Temps (including those currently in Dallas), things are only going to get more grim in these next few episodes.
In other words: be very afraid.
All in all, "I Will Rise Up" is one of the most scary, sexy, funny, and perspicacious installments of the slickly seductive True Blood to date. Whatever plans you might have had for Sunday evening, this is one episode of True Blood you definitely want to watch live.
Sunday night on True Blood ("I Will Rise Up"), Eric plays Sookie for a sucker; Sookie and Jason bond over their recent adventures; Lafayette and Lettie Mae try to figure out a way to pry Tara from Maryann’s clutches; Hoyt defends his relationship with Jessica to Maxine; Sam looks for a way to escape both jail and Maryann; Godric decides to take the fall for the vampires' recent PR disaster when Nan Flanagan arrives in town.
Wow... that's all... just Wow... :D

all about Sophie Anne
http://www.examiner.com/x-4107-Gay--Lesbian-Issues-Examiner~y2009m8d20-True-Blood--Get-ready-for-Queen-SophieAnn
Actress Evan Rachel Wood is set to make her debut as Vampire Queen of Louisiana Sophie-Anne LeClerq on the August 30th episode of HBO's True Blood, and by all indications, it ain't gonna be pretty.
Show creator Alan Ball told Entertainment Weekly that Sophie-Anne is a vampire "nobody's ever entirely happy to see,", and says "she's very powerful, capricious, and most likely insane."
Sounds like fun! Everyone seems to be anticipating her appearance.
It is presumed Sophie-Anne will be called upon by Bill Compton (who has a history with her) to help calm the chaos in Bon Temps created by the meanad Maryann Forrestor. Whether or not she ultimately proves to be a help or a hinderance is a matter for speculation.
For starters, she's somewhere between 400 and 1100 years old (depending on whom you ask) and was created in her early teens. She's ostensibly French, but she has no French accent.
Sophie-Anne has a special gift that allows her to communicate telepathically with the "children" she's created. She says she can keep her "children" with her, talking to each other and loving each other physically.
This differs from normal vampire "maker"/"child" relationships which start out as companions or lovers but do not last long (in vampire standards). Usually, the child will leave the maker, and must only come again when he/she is called upon by the maker.
In Charlaine Harris' books, Sophie-Anne sent Bill back to his hometown of Bon Temps to find and seduce Sookie Stackhouse because Sookie's telephatic ability might be valuable to her.
That would explain Bill's sudden appearance at Merlotte's in the first episode of the series, where Sookie was a waitress.
The revelation might also drive a wedge between Bill and Sookie, pushing Sookie closer to vampire sherriff Eric, who is already in Sookie's head and seems intent on turning her into a vampire.
Apparently the queen swings both ways - Sookie learns that Sophie-Anne turned her cousin, Hadley, into a vampire and had a romantic relationship with her.
Although she'll only grace the final chapter of this season, Sophie-Anne is expected to play a pivotal role in season three.
Ball said Sophie-Anne has "more than one secret agenda, which we will slowly become aware of in season three."
So it sounds like Bon Temps is trading one crazy bitch (Maryann) for another. Or maybe there's room for two!
Bring it on, Alan Ball!

another interview w/Rachel Evan Wood from Eonline's Marc Malkin, she's toying with us.
Is Evan Rachel Wood Playing a Lesbian Vampire?
Today 5:05 PM PDT by Marc Malkin
http://uk.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malkin/b141343_evan_rachel_wood_playing_lesbian_vampire.h tml
HBO/ John P. Johnson
Queen Sophie-Anne is True Blood's new equal-opportunity vampire.
Evan Rachel Wood, who makes her devilish debut on the show this coming Sunday playing the 1,100-year-old bloodsucker boss lady of Louisiana, says she could end up having sex scenes with any of her costars.
"She's not necessarily a lesbian," Wood, 21, recently explained to me. "Her human partner is a girl, but I'm pretty sure she goes both ways [laughs]. I think vampires are like that in general."
And they also don't mind getting naked! Read on to hear what Ms. Wood has to say about stripping down on the hit HBO series and watching Alexander Skarsgård take a shower. Plus, she sets the record straight about the Spider-Man musical...
I'm not sure why I am talking to you because I don't think you're allowed to tell me anything, right?
[Laughs] I can tease! What do you want to know?
I want to know who you are going to have sex with. Are you more Eric or Bill, and what kind of drama is Queen Sophie-Ann starting?
I figured that those would be the questions! Who do I have sex with? Well, I don't know if I am having sex with anyone yet, but I certainly have a steamy scene with someone that I don't think you'd really expect. So it will be a little fun.
So no Eric or Bill? Because I think that is what everyone is assuming.
Um, I'm not saying anything. I can't say either way.
How did you end up on the show?
I watched the first season and loved the show, so I got in touch with [series creator] Alan Ball and said, "Keep an eye out for anything that might pop up." I thought it was a long shot, but then later on I got a call saying they needed a queen.
Did you know anything about the queen beforehand?
I didn't. I said yes, even before I read the script. I didn't really care.
This past Sunday's episode was so crazy. I was just watching it and going, "What the f--k!"
That's pretty much how I feel after every episode. [Laughs] Just wait until the last episodes! There's a lot that is going to happen. It's going to be insane. Those were the only scripts that I read, and I was just thinking to myself (a) how are they going to film this, (b) how are they going to get away with this, and (c) just what they hell is going on?
Did you have to get naked yet, because everyone on the show gets naked?
I can't say I do just yet. But they are bringing me back next season, so it's always a possibility. It's kind of inevitable.
So are you Team Eric or Team Bill?
I would say, Team Alex—Eric! Whoops. [Laughs]
Have you seen the clip of Alex's shower scene in Hundtricket?
I am not going to lie. Yes I have.
He is just stunning.
I have to agree with you. [Laughs] That's another great thing about my job—all of my scenes are with Bill and Eric! I was surrounded by beautiful people constantly.
Now, I do want to ask you about the Spider-Man musical. What's the latest?
I don't know a lot, but as far as I know, it's still on.
Any truth to reports that you told producers you were backing out so you could be free to do some movies?
No! I didn't say that! It's going to be great! Whatever happens, it's going to be great!
I dont know why it's Kristin's column, Jennifer Godwin always write the good stuff-
True Blood Stars Answer You: Who Kills Maryann? What's Sookie's New Power?
There are just two episodes left of summer blockbuster True Blood, and Bon Temps citizens aren't the only ones in a frenzy. We fans are dying to know what's to come this season!
Luckily, the show's stars were feeling chatty at this week's Nylon magazine TV issue party (Anna Paquin is the cover girl)! Read on for the exclusive secrets the stars spilled about the remainder of season two...
Michele in Pine Bluff, Ark.: Do you know anything about Sookie's new power on True Blood? I can't stop thinking about it.
Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) has done his homework and spills the beans: "Well, I read the books, so I think she's part fairy. That was her fairy power." According to Rutina Wesley (who plays Sookie's BFF Tara), "[Sookie's power] is a funky little thing," but she also tells us the show won't answer that question for certain any time in season two.
Ada in Gallup, N.M.: You teased on Monday that someone surprising was going to save Sam Merlotte. Can you give us a hint?
Well, according to Tara Buck, who plays Fangtasia waitress Ginger, "I'm coming back this Sunday, and I don't want to give anything away, but everybody's back from Dallas, and there's a lot of stuff that's accumulated and a lot of danger. We've got everybody, we've got Sam (Sam Trammell) running from Maryann (Michelle Forbes), and he may actually..." Tara wants to keep her job, so she couldn't tell us everything, but we have it good authority that he may actually seek refuge with Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) and Pam (Kristin Bauer) at Fangtasia in Shreveport, La. Awesome!
Bonny in Birmingham, England: I've just about had it with that maenad Maryann. Can we please get rid of her soon?
Yes, Maryann will be vanquished, but it won't be easy. Nelsan Ellis tells us that no one character single-handedly takes her out, but rather it's a "group effort" by all of the good guys.
Anna in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho: Are any of the zombie couples on True Blood going to last? I love Arlene and Terry Bellefleur, and Tara and Eggs, and I hope they survive Maryann.
Anything's possible. Carrie Preston, who plays Merlotte's waitress Arlene tells us, "When you're possessed on the show, the next day, you don't remember. So they can start over—like a reset, a reboot. I think Arlene is constantly searching for the perfect man, and maybe he's going to be the one. I don't know." We're definitely rooting for more Terry and Arlene. In other romance news, Rutina says that Tara has real feelings for Eggs: "I think she is really falling in love for the first time...She's ready to open herself up," so that's something to build a relationship on, if she can get him out from under Maryann's thrall before it's too late.
Harper in Bemidji, Minn.: What can you tell us about Evan Rachel Wood's character?
Look for Marc Malkin's exclusive interview with Evan later today, but the other thing to know is that Sophie is hooked up with Sookie's cousin, Hadley Hale (Lindsey Haun), which you can see for yourself in our Spoiler Stills gallery. Wow. Those Stackhouse women sure do like vampires—could the attraction somehow be genetic?

Wayne, I've found a better copy of the promo, it's in the same post. I cant tell what she is saying , sounded like Sam cheated at yahtzee to me.
here's almost the same synopsis of the finale but with a lil mo info, likes Sookie is a MaID of Honor for Maryanne, aint that sweet? She can totally wear that dress again with a few alterations.

Our favorite vampire drama series gets more exciting with every episode and next week's story promises to to top the previous ones in drama and suspense. Forced to be a bridesmaid or something?
Joolz, the post above said forced to be a maid of honor, always a bridesmaid never a bride of Dracula, so sad.

Yah! I see that now! For some reason, I didn't see that post before (think I may have had the page open for quite some time before I posted). So, not only is she a bridesmaid, she's the Maid of Honor, eh? It'll be interesting to see how THAT happens. I do note that it says she's "conscripted," so at least we know it's not something Sookie does willingly (can't even imagine that).

Anyone recognize the epi title?! ;)
Yeah. ;) And good choice. :)
some spoilers I read said they are taking it darker, but the title could apply to Maryanne being gone or Eric gets amnesia due to a witch-werewolf on V, seriously lol, she casts a spell and that is how he gets with Sooks in the book. he is sweet and humanlike with no memory, hee. Instead of bringing in the were witches maybe Queenie does it to him. I think thats stupid 'cause she isnt as powerful or as old as him but we shall see. maybe he lost at yahtzee and it's his punishment.

True Blood: Who Will Make the Ultimate Sacrifice?
Wednesday, September 02, 2009
In less than two weeks, True Blood will wrap up its second season, possibly leaving us with yet another cliffhanging mystery arc for season 3. But before we even go there, we first need to solve Bon Temps' main problem: Maenad Maryann! Based on Queen Sophie-Ann's revelation last week, maenads are stupid supernatural beings hoping to find the perfect vessel which will summon their God so that they can be ravished and devoured, literally. And the only way to beat Maryann is to attack her when she's in her "frenzied" mode.
Obviously, taking down Maryann won't be easy. And if you've seen HBO's preview of True Blood's second season finale, you'd know that someone's life is on the line.
So who will make the ultimate sacrifice? It looks like it's going to be Sam Merlotte this time, according to the video below. The short clip alone gives you an idea that Bill will be taking the chaos of Bon Temps into his own hands, seemingly sacrificing Sam to get rid of Maryann.
Somehow, I don't think the show is going to kill off Sam, at least not anytime soon. Aside from being one of the main characters of True Blood, his shape shifting-nature alone remains a big mystery and there are still a lot of things we don't know about him. Perhaps this is just some kind of ploy to catch Maryann off guard? Does this mean Sam lives and another character dies? Or will it be one those finales where no one else dies? I don't think it's the latter, though. I still think a character that has run its course is going to be killed off and my money's on Eggs.
Lyrics to Bob Dylan's song, Beyond Here Lies Nothin'
I love you pretty baby
You’re the only love I’ve ever known
Just as long as you stay with me
The whole world is my throne
Beyond here lies nothin’
Nothin’ we can call our own
I’m movin’ after midnight
Down boulevards of broken cars
Don’t know what I’d do without it
Without this love that we call ours
Beyond here lies nothin’
Nothin’ but the moon and stars
Down every street there’s a window
And every window made of glass
We’ll keep on lovin’ pretty baby
For as long as love will last
Beyond here lies nothin’
But the mountains of the past
My ship is in the harbor
And the sails are spread
Listen to me pretty baby
Lay your hand upon my head
Beyond here lies nothin’

I have to thank HBO for using DM's Corrupt. Long live Dave, Marty and Fletch!
I could corrupt you
In a heart beat
You think your so special
Think your so sweet
What are you trying don't even tempt me
Soon you'll be crying unwishing you dreamt of be
You'll be calling out my name
When you need someone to blame
I can corrupt you
It would be easy
Watching you suffer
God, it would please me
I wanna touch you with my little finger
I know it will crush you my memory would linger
You'd be crying out in pain
Begging me to play my games
I can corrupt you
It will be ugly
They could sedate you
But i wanna touch you with my hands on your hips
It would be too much to
Place my lips on your lips
You'll be calling out my name
Begging me to play my games
Depeche Mode 'Sounds Of The Universe'

There will be ‘Blood’, lots of it, on HBO’s hit series
By Mark A. Perigard
Bucketfuls of blood, chills and chuckles.
That’s probably on tap in the season finale of HBO’s “True Blood.”
The premium cable channel refused to release a screener of the season finale (Sunday at 9 p.m.) of its hot supernatural drama, no doubt fearful of spoilers staking the Web.
The publicity shots on HBO’s press site reveal some tantalizing clues.
Centuries-old Maryann (Michelle Forbes), dressed in what appears to be pagan wedding finery, confronts both Sookie (Anna Paquin) and her lunkheaded brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten).
Author Charlaine Harris pops in for a cameo and orders a brewski from Sam (Sam Trammell).
Sookie and Bill (Stephen Moyer) seem to enjoy a night out at a fancy restaurant and dance their troubles away. Or is that a hallucination?
Here’s what’s real: “True Blood” resurrected HBO. It’s no secret the premium cable channel has been lacking buzzworthy hits. In its second season, however, the vampire drama has been on fire. Its last episode drew 5.3 million viewers, making it second only to “The Sopranos.”
The head count for the finale is likely to be higher, as the seasonlong story line of Maryann’s seduction of the little Southern town of Bon Temps comes to a blood-frenzy boil.
Bill recognizes that shape-shifting Sam is key to the ancient maenad’s plans and will use that against her.
Then there’s the bad-to-the-marrow Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) whose fascination with Sookie might prompt him to risk his own neck.
Sookie’s psychic powers are the wild card here. As we’ve seen, she’s capable of fending off Maryann, but she doesn’t know how to control her mojo.
If last season’s finale is any indication, the main threat will be resolved and a new one will launch. (HBO swiftly renewed the show for a third season earlier in the summer.)
While vampires might be all the craze, “True Blood” has staked a special place on the dial as a show coursing with romance, scares and giggles.
In the last episode, Jason took a detour from confronting ultimate evil. He pulled over his truck and handed Andy (Chris Bauer) an energy bar so they could load up on carbs.
Sometimes the laughs and the chills blend together. Eric stared down two children, calling them “tiny humans,” while reminding one of his fellow vamps about the tastiness of youngsters.
With its mythology established last season, “True Blood” found ways to expand and even run away from its source material. Writer/producer Alan Ball seems to recognize there are more interesting stories to tell than a vampire falling in love with a human female. While Sookie and Bill’s romance is still key to the series, it is probably the least interesting part of the serial right now.
I just want to know what’s going to hatch out of that egg.

Alan Ball gives a little bitsey about S3. If there's a Debbie Pelt that means there's an Alcide, Ed Quinn would have been a perfect Alcide, sniffles.
Alan Ball spared sometime talking about his show "True Blood" which will wrap up its second season on Sunday, September 13. Among the things that he discussed in an interview with TV Squad are the facts that a few members will no longer be seen in season three while some are getting more screen time.
Asked whether Eric, who already became a big part of season 2, will finally get together with Sookie, Ball said, "I can't tell you if they're going to get together, because that's going to ruin the anticipation." He added, "But, if you've been following season two, he's definitely been doing things to make her more vulnerable and more susceptible to him. And he does want her, he's just not sure why. I think it's deeper than just, 'I want her because Bill Compton has her'. Although that's part of it, because Eric is a total alpha-dog."
The third season is loosely based on Charlaine Harris' third novel from the "Sookie Stackhouse" series, "Club Dead". Ball spilled, "...I'm not giving anything away when I say that we'll meet the Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington. And we'll encounter werewolves for the first time in the flesh; we've heard about them, but we'll meet them. I'm very excited about the character of Debbie Pelt. She's bad news."
Ball went further in revealing what season 3 would be like, saying "Everybody is struggling with identity in season three - What am I? Who am I? What is my life? ...And some people are like, 'Am I human? I always thought I was, but maybe I was wrong'. In one particular case, its like, 'Yes, honey, you were wrong'." Pressed further by TV Squad, Ball admitted that Sookie is not 100 percent human and that she is aware of it.
Those who will not be back for the third season next summer would be Godric, who is "really dead", and second season's villain, Maryann.

Ruttina vid, she only says the finale will be 'bittersweet', still nice to see her as herself.
