I like Locke, he's one of my favorite characters. He was in a wheelchair for four years, yet somehow manages to stand up on his own two feet within the span of twenty seconds. Uh, I don't think so. Within a couple minutes, he's running around lifting things and helping people. There is no way that he could possibly use his legs to their full potential after being in a wheel chair for four year; the muslces in his legs would have atrophied and it would take a considerable amount of extensive physical therapy before he could just run and jump again like he does now. I've been reading in the Theories and Speculation forum about several theories concerning the fact that all of the "survivors" are really dead and these are just their spirits. The writers of the show have denied this, but do you think this inconsistency with Locke is somehow an indication? And if all the survivors are indeed alive, then what do you make of this inconsistency?

I'm sorry I didn't see the first few episodes of lost. But theres always been something about Locke that didn't add up. I don't believe he's ever mentioned where he got his skills from or how he knows so much about survival. You think its possible that he never really needed the wheelchair to begin with that maybe he was using it for some other reason like to throw people off? there hasn't been very many flashbacks with him at least none that i've seen. Sorry if this is complete BS but like i said i missed a few.

In the episode where they first hunt boar (I don't remember which one), Locke takes a spill when the boar charges them and he has some flashbacks from when he was in a wheel chair and when he first regained conscienceness on the beach and was able to use his legs.

Please keep the theories in the theories forum.

As to Locke's paralysis and whether it's possible or not, you may want to check out thread on Walkabout either in General Discussions or in General Discussions Archive. Several posters with medical background proposed several different logical explanations for Locke's seemingly miraculous recovery.

Whether you accept any of them or not is up to you.
