Okay, so I have downloaded this game and it's an .iso file.
I'm going nuts trying to figure out how to make it work.
I have a Windows XP.
I read some online and downloaded this thing called "Daemon Tools" that has let me OPEN the file.
I can see all the little game files, in this "Drive F"
But I can't make the game PLAY.
Some stuff I've read says something about burning the game to a CD and then running it off the CD.
How do I do this? How does this work? Do I use the little Daemon program to burn it?
Help.

Ill send you a pm
Burn it to CD. It's basically a disc image. It's hard to explain, but basically if I took everything off a CD/DVD and then made a disc image, that's the ISO file, just before I actually burn all of the info back onto a CD/DVD.
ETA - Or whatever Iggy tells you. :)

I burn CDs using Windows Media Player.
So tell me how.
I don't think you can burn an ISO file with WMP. Not to be a smart ass, but it'd be a hell of a lot easier if you had a Mac. For Windows, you're going to need a third party program to burn it. There's freeware though, ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) for example. Toast will do it as well, but again, that's a Mac program. You'll have to do a search for burning ISO files to get a more detailed list.

Well, luckily, I had a bunch of stupid advice last night, which was to just use a CD burning program and burn the .iso to a CD.
I did that. Now, when I put the CD in, it doesn't play the game. It just sits there, and if I open the folder... there's the same damn .iso file.
Seriously.

PM me instead.
And don't worry, you can probably find the right instructions to open the file on the web. This reminds me of the time I used a .y'all converter on a .ya'll file.

What did you use to burn it? Was it just a regular CD burning program? If so, that's why it's not doing anything. ISO files have to be burned with an ISO program. Otherwise, you're just making copies.

Well, they told me to use a regular CD burning program.
But I HAVE this other program but I don't know how to make it burn.

Magic ISO.
Borrow it, steal it, buy it. Whatever you need to do.
That's all I got.

This may be from the "too late" file, but anyway, here's what to do:
Download this extremely small program:
http://www.ntfs.com/iso_burner_free.htm
Download the EXE version on the right, then run the install program.
Instructions:
Download the ISO CD image to a folder on your computer.
Insert a blank CD in your CD-RW drive.
Run Active@ ISO Burner.
Type the path to ISO image file or click Browse button to locate it via standard File Open dialog.
Click the [BURN ISO!] button to start the process of writing ISO image to CD.
Make sure you choose a burn speed that your CD-R media supports, rather than the maximum speed your drive supports. Selecting a lower speed can help lessen the chance of burn errors.

I usually just mount the iso as a drive. Its loads easier than burning for the uninitiated.

To mount, you need to download a virtual drive program, install it which gives your computer a new virtual drive, mount the iso, install from it, and you may or may not need to have that virtual drive mounted to run the program, if it needs to run off the CD.
I'd say that burning the image is a more "traditional" and less technical way to do it, and it's what people are most familiar with.
I am learning how to use ImbBurn to work with .iso files for videos and using DVDShrink to edit some stuff out of .iso. It is great fun learning new stuff.
To give you folks an update, since Vonne isn't returning to discuss it.
There is something wonky or was, she may have fixed it, with her computer.
The ISO she got may have been bad, but with a different ISO it sort of worked but the part where the install is suppose to happen, didn't work. So, something with her computer is preventing it from working.

:p I still think it's something wrong with the file.
vonne, just don't use a lighter to burn the disc, it doesn't work like that sweetie.
