First of all I'm of the opinion that Locke is one of the 'good' guys. I think people mistake gallantry and chivalry and an alpha male for evil male aggression, which its not. So what if the guy has an ego- ego can be used for good.

Anyway- even though his character is physically healed, and spiritually he's become wiser, it was obvious from his back story that he had a strong desire to share his experiences with someone special. He didn't just want to do the walkabout, he wanted Helen to come with him, and his pain with her rejection was obvious. He mistakenly called Kate 'Helen' in Walkabout. In Homecoming, he was the one that noticed Claire stumbling into a tree after they had caught Ethan, and he was the one that rushed to her side to see if she was okay. In the future promo pictures- WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILER.........

its obvious that he is building a crib for Claire's baby. I think that he has an obvious tender side and deserves to not be 'lonely'. Phooey on all the 'pretty boy eye candy', he's the real thing!
