This may have been asked already, if so I'd appreciate a link to it. I also have to review the DVD's again to get the answer but does anyone know off the top of their heads if Locke and Hurley have ever mentioned to each other about the Box Compnay in Tuscan?
I know when Hurley was taking the census Locke told him he that he had lived and worked most of his life in Tuscan, but did he ever tell Hurley he was the regional collections manager for a Box company, I remember he told Boone and maybe some others, but did he mention it to Hurley?
Hurley should have put two and two together by now if he had.
If he hadn't, how long before they figure it out?
If you know for sure let me know, thanks if not I'll be checking the DVD's again to see who Locke told and if Hurley heard it.

The box company is in Tustin, in Orange County California.
Hurly didn't even know he HAD a box company, if you recall, when he's talking to his financial advisor.
Hurley seems to cop on to really important things that affect ALL of them in their albeit feeble effort to cope with the Island. You'd think he would have copped on to box company, except that is kind of not relevant to the immediacy of their situation.
But it is a good point you brought up.

Yeah, it was mentioned in passing along with a lot of other information, and also just before he saw a guy jump to his death. I would be really surprized if Hurley even remembers. He doesn't have DVD's that he can watch over and over again or a message board to remind himself.

That's what did my head in all last season! They would stubble across something but then NEVER meantion it again! I wish they's ask people to elaborate! And again this season when Hurley told Jack about the numbers, he didnt tell it ALL and Jack never questioned him further! I wish he would!

This really is a bothersome issue. When Hurley first told him about the numbers (MoS, MoF) right after they blew the hatch, I could understand Jack giving him the brush off. Jack wasn't buying the "hex" stuff, there were more important things to do (like saving everyone from the "Others," etc. But now that they have had time to settle into a relatively staid routine again AND since Jack has received some further, and rather extreme jolts to his "If I can't explain it scientifically it must not be real" system of beliefs (the numbers being the same ones that are needed to run the hatch, prior recollection of Desmond, etc.), why the HELL has he not bothered to show even one iota of further curiosity about Hurley's story? Perplexing.

You can discuss this in the box (http://p073.ezboard.com/flosttheunofficalforumfortheabcseriesfrm2.showMess age?topicID=4349.topic) thread, plus it should probably be added to the common knowledge thread. Moving this.

My theory is that Locke would know all about the lucky guy who got rich and bought his company. I think that is why je knows Hurley's name is really Hugo. I suspect Locke has a lot of jealous feelings over what he percieves as Hurley's good luck compared to his bad luck, and that will be a plot point down the road.

^ Wow Homer. If they don't go in that direction, they should!
That would explain Locke knowing his real name and add some dramatic tension to their relationship.

I have been thinking the same thing. I don't remember Locke telling Hurley about his occupation. And speaking of Locke during one of his flash backs he is on the bed speaking to Helen about going to Australia with him and at first I thought Helen was a telemarketer or phone sex person because she said that she wasn't allowed to do that. Anyone know what is going on there?

Not only are Hurley and Locke linked by the Box company. They both have had the same arrogant, boss, Randy!!
Since Hurley didn't even know about his Box company, how could he know that he employed his former boss Randy?
I cant wait until Hurley and Locke figure out their link.

Has anyone seen anything to indicate that both Randy's have the same last name? I'll accept that they are both played by the same actor, but in watching both episodes in which they appear, side by side, one on DVD/TV the other on a PC, I don't see that they are the same character. Do the credits anywhere give last names of the characters? And I don't just mean looks. It's attitudes, demeanors etc.
By the way Tustin, Ca. is next door to Irvine Ca. where Sayid's Nadia works. I wonder if she and Locke have crossed paths.

Their tenure on the island seems to bring out the best in some of the castaways.
It's a much different Hurley now in comparison to when he worked at the fast food joint. Back then, he had very little ambition and didn't make any major decisions concerning his life. He avoided this process.
On the island, however, Hurley is compelled to think and also has become a man of action.
I can cite a few examples. It was Hurley's idea to start a census. Hurley risked his life to get a battery for the raft (he was motivated by the numbers too). Recently, Hurley made a major decision regarding the food pantry.
It's a much different Hurley than before.

And frustrating too !!
It's the result of an impoverished script.
The show is written this way on purpose in order to maintain an element of mystery.
That's why we have characters not asking logical questions and characters that don't talk when they should.
