Is it ok to cry after your team loses a big game?

This is a men only poll, because we all know that women love crying at every opportunity they get.

I always shed a tear when England get beat on penalties in football. That's five times since 1990.

In fact, I think I've only cried five times since 1990....

I have only ever cried once from my team losing.

Thursday, October 16th, 2003.

Aaron &@%#ing Boone hitting a homerun off the lovable Tim Wakefield to knock the Red Sox out of the playoffs. The whole damn series was an emotional roller coaster.

You're on a roll.

I nearly cried when Liverpool came back from 0-3 down in the Champions League final and went on to win........but you mean crying of the wussy sort so its a good job I can't vote.

That was my second time.

First time was game 6 in '86. I had just seen Billy Joel in New Haven. We were driving back to campus when I heard Henderson hit a home run. All 6 Sox fans were in the middle of a Mets fans party, we were counting down the outs, then, well, we all know what happened next.

Yes, I cried then, too.

No. It's sorta pathetic.

It's called having an emotional investment in something other than yourself. Now it may be pathetic if you are crying over just a loss, but in certain circumstances it is about much more than just a game.

Nope, to me it's always just a game.

Evidently I'm banned from voting - but I'm gonna post anyway. :) I have never, ever cried because a favorite team lost. I've thrown things, pouted for days, etc. but never cried. I almost always cry when one of my teams posts a particularly good victory, especially if it's a tight game.

I didn't cry when the Seahawks lost the Super Bowl, but that was probably because I was too full of rage at the referees with their bad calls. If it hadn't been for that, if it had been a fairly officiated game and the 'Hawks lost a close heartbreaker, who knows...I just might have cried.

I don't blame you. I still, to this day, believe that game was fixed.

I cried when the Celtics beat the Lakers in the '84 finals.

Yes, I cried... it was horrible. It was the worst thing ever; worse than the end of the world. I was almost, not quite, 8 years old.

And then the Lakers beat the Celtics in '85 and '87... :)

No, I didn't cry last year.

I came in this poll to commend you on what I thought was an excellent username only to find that women are not welcome...For your information I did vote in your sexist poll and I would never cry over a stupid game. I suggest you learn to be a bit more respectful of the ladies on this board...

Any chance this stays a sports poll and doesn't morph into a "why do you hate chicks?" poll?

textbook reply to accusation: "You are right, my bad. I continue daily to try and be the type of person who would treat all human beings as individuals with equal rights and feelings."

I think "yes" implies "regularly."

No man (nay, person, Jinj?) would admit to crying over sports on a frequent basis. I would have to recommend therapy, or pharmacuticals.

Yes. I would like to comment. :innocent:

I agree with you, I voted yes.

Have I ever cried over sports? Nope. Will I ever cry over sports? Nope.

I might curse and yell but would never cry.

But I voted yes. Because it certainly isn't my right to tell someone if they can or can not cry after their team loses.

I also reserve to right to :point: & :rotfl: at you when you cry over a Seagulls loss to someone like the Lions. :mischievo

You know, there were so many times last year when I was just...numb. The Sonics up and left, which we all knew was happening for a couple of years, the Mariners lost 100 games with a $100 payroll, and Bavasi's mis-management has been a steady decline in the team, so that was nothing new, Husky hoops missed out on the Big Dance, not really a shocker, after Brandon Roy left a year early Applebee was the senior leadership, Coach Romar was in a rebuilding muddle, lame-duck Seahawks coach Holmgren was just tired, Hasselbeck didn't have his good recievers at the start of the season and when the good recievers finally were healthy Hasselbeck was injured, plus the fact that the defense was hampered by the lack of new faces (IMO) and there were too many people on the running back commitee, Husky football went winless, completely the fault of Ty Willingham and the former school administration and AD who were primarily focussed on political correctness and not enough on academic standards, and so stuck with him when it was obvious that he was failing, not doing his job, not recruiting...

2008 just sucked to be a Seattle sports fan. But I never cried, never hung my head. Some people might have because the road got hard, if so, I am not going to judge them. We just got the first ray of light, the Husky men's basketball team just clinched at least a share of the Pac-10 regular season title, first time in over 25 years. One more win and it's the first outright title since 1953. 2008 is in the past.

*pats Bucky on the shoulder*

Yeah... tough year for Seattle.

Losing the Sonics is plain and outright :bs:. The NBA without the Seattle Supersonics just ain't right. Ain't right at all.

But you got the right outlook. Chin up.

PS. If you ever do feel the need to cry... be sure and let me know so I can get with the :point: & :rotfl:.

:D

I shed tears of joy when Vinatieri's kick beat the Rams. No sobbing or anything.

Almost forgot that one, you know, amongst the THREE they've won this decade.

Can everyone have a group unbunching of their panties and get back on track.

Thanks
