Well, I saw there was a "crying thread" but I did not see a head banging thread...a place you can go when your team ****s up so badly that you feel like your heart is gona fall right out of your chest..
or when they make such a stuipd, mind boggling, out of order, crazy move that it defies any kind of earthly logic known to any species in the entire solar system through the entire history of the universe!!!!
Someplace to scream "no way that chump deserves to be paid that!"
...A place where you can say for the love of all that is holy will ya please stop being so stupid!!!
All sports allowed...
Teams or individual players can be discussed

Actually, Cum on Feel the Noize was only a cover for Quiet Riot. The song was originally done by West Midlands glam rockers Slade in 1973. DuBrow & Co. also covered their Mama Weer All Crazee Now to a hit video on MTV.
Nobody appreciates Slade anymore. They seem to have been completely forgotten despite the major influence they had on a lot of acts. Bummer. I suppose that's for the music forum, anyway.

I've never forgotten about Slade. I like them but I feel like they helped the bubblegumization of glam rock with "that other band" Sweet. Slayed was a pretty good album though. Also, The Runaways had a hit with Mama Weer All Crazee Now and Joan Jett made a habit of covering bubble glam.

There was a band called Mama's Boys, Irish trio IIRC, who came out with a cover of Mama Weer All Crazee Now, unfortunately, just before Quiet Riot released theirs. Mama's Boys had about a week of airplay before they got suppressed.
And how can you say "bubblegumization of glam"? Glam was bubble gum from the start. Only Bowie with his thoughtful lyrics and a few others, Sweet among them, were working to lift the genre above the sappy origin of Gary Glitter and Marc Bolan.

What I mean is that they either took away the edge (songs about drugs and intercourse and in Marc Bolan's case hubcap diamond star halos) and replaced that edge with lyrics about dancing and staying up all night, or they just plain didn't have the chops and made simple three chord derivatives of All The Young Dudes.

I actually bought that Slade cassette because of the Riot cover. I can't racall much of it, but it was in my rotation for a few months.
Can't believe I'm admitting this, but a friend of mine signed 4 of us up for an "air band" competition at a local mall in 1984. We ended up winning and going to the New England championships at the old G. Fox building in Hartford. There were Michael Jackson impersonators, a Beatles group, a guy doing Nugent (with his zebra nut smuggler), and about 40 other acts. We won. Our song?
Metal Health, baby.
(And I have pictures.)
I coulda swore I was in the Sports Discussion area of the forum.

Yep... that's where I am... :dunce:

All The Young Dudes was really the swan song (sort of ironic since it all kicked off with Bolan and T.Rex and a tune called Ride A White Swan) of glam, the retrospective, written by Bowie for Ian Hunter and Mott the Hoople. You know a genre has gone too far when it's doing material about itself.

Blame The Watcher for naming the thread "Head Banging". As soon as someone gives us a reason to put the thread on topic we'll go there. Like....wait until opening day at Chavez Ravine and a ball is hit out to Manny. We can all :banghead: over that. Until then we will :Headbang:

Well, one fewer reason to :banghead: in The Big D, TO having been shown the door, Watcher.
Jerry's no dummy, he knows that on-field performance, no matter how good, disrupted by that players off-field behavior is a negative sum effect on the team. And T.O. is a major disruptor.
