View Full Version : Broken websites with Opera

(Postin' here, because even the one or two responses I might get at most here are more than over in the Opera support forums)

Since last night, a few websites suddenly haven't been working when viewed with Opera-Facebook and Deviantart, for example, and also the ones I use most. What I can see of them, is the same as if any other page didn't finish loading properly; ie white background, bad formatting, text, and the occasional picture.

Since I can view them with IE, it must be something with Opera, and since those sites use a lot of java/flash, I guess it would be something with that? But, I updated to the latest Flash, and apparently Opera uses it's own built in java thingamajig. *hasn't a clue* Updating didn't work (and the Adobe flash player test page was broken too), so I ran CCleaner on everything.. still nothing. So I have no idea, and as ever it's while the bf isn't around to ask.

Help anyone?

(FarmTown on Facebook still works, though it's a lot of hassle to get to it :P)

Hmm...take this with a grain of salt...

Those sound similar to the symptoms I get when I'm the Dominican Republic and going through a proxy server. Maybe try checking the connection settings with IE compared to Opera? See if there's something there.

..actually, apparently that's it. I just disconnected from the VPN after reading what you wrote, and refreshed, and it's there. Looks like the problem is on the other end, not mine.. thanks, I wouldn't have though of such an obvious answer. :p

Aaaand I reconnected, and it's all there again. Weird, considering I had to disconnect to reboot twice earlier today already.. I'll never know :)
