I remember the character. But by the time she arrived on the scene, I'd found it impossible to continue watching Roswell. It was a shame too, I really liked it in the beginning.

i must admit that i was a big roswell geek for quite a while. ofcourse, i felt that they majorly mucked up the plot when they decided to give liz powers, but whatever. anyways, yes, i really loved her in roswell.

Well... I ABSOLUTLEY loved Roswell.... yes... it is kinda funny and ironic that in Roswell Emilie was pregnant, and now, her characater --- Claire , is pregnant too .... lol anyways ... I never LOVED Tess .. sometimes I hated her... but then.. I felt really bad for her sometimes... She was a good character -- on the "good guyz" side.. but kinda the bad on the good-guyz team. .... like logan on the xmen except eviller..... Thats why I really respect Emilie -- on Roswell she was a character that you loved to hate -- but on Lost you just can't stand episodes w/out her!!! (Thus the power of the actress) But yep ... I liked her on Roswell ... although ... I rooted for Max/Liz ... but keep in mind, my real ship was Michael/Maria ..... luv the love/hate relationship .... lol anyways, I've over typed anyways .... :)
I started watching the show for Dominic Monaghan first --- and then I saw Claire and I was like "HEY!!! I KNOW HER!!!" and same w/ Locke (Terry was on Roswell's ep: Michael and the Great Snapple Caper... and He was in Alias) That kinda reinforced my love for LOST but the plot and , like you said, many other things sucked my into the vortex of obsession....
I LOVE SBLOMIE!!!!!

I loved Micheal and Maria--thought of them as alters for myself and my husband--in a strange romantic way.
Roswell had that same quirkiness that this show does,
and it is more dependent on the characters and our "liking" them
then it does on the storyline.
Although, it was the lack of a cohesive storyline that killed Roswell....it strayed away from its original plot.
Roswell also had lots of people in it and they all had a story --although seemingly about Liz and Max (Jack and Kate)
the show had lots of interesting folks to focus on just like LOST.
I hope that since it is on a major network and has lots of viewers it doesn't just dissolve like Roswell.
Oh I loved her on Roswell, sure didnt like Tess but I liked her if that makes sense.
I miss Emilie on the show - shes so hot, pregnant or not.

She was pretty good on Beastmaster too. ;-)
Got to love those Satuday syndicated shows.
I was really happy to see the actress turn up on LOST.
It was a very pleasant surprise.

I am a big Roswell fan. I wasn't a huge Tess fan, but I always liked Emilie. She did what she could on Roswell with a limited role that was never clearly defined as someone we were supposed to like, someone we were supposed to love to hate, or someone we were just supposed to hate. It certainly wasn't her fault, and she did the best she could with what she was given. The episode when she returned in Season 3 was the highlight of a by then mostly crappy show.

I loved Roswell, shame how it got cancelled, they seem to cancel all the good shows these days, thank god there's Lost :D A lot of people hated Tess for some reason, but I liked her, Liz annoyed me...
I was obsessed with Roswell! The first two seasons were so good but the third one was just painful to watch. The whole Liz-getting-powers was just plain boring and all together she was a pretty boring character even though they tried to make her all badass on third season. Did anyone else ever get annoyed of how she would pronounce words that ended with the letter -g. Like she would say the word "anything" like "anythin-k" or "King" like "Kink". It used to drive me nuts! But I always loved Tess! She was so cool and everything. Just misunderstood. She had to wear some pretty ugly clothes on the show. I even remember reading an article where she wished they'd give her nicer clothes. My fave couple was definitely Michael/Maria but I liked Kyle/Tess too even though they never really got together. Alex was hilarious too. Too bad he died. I think that's enough Roswell rambling for one day. :)
Hey, did anyone catch Emilie on "Carrie"? It was shown a couple of years ago on ABC I think. She was such a good Chris Hargensen (the mean girl).

Hey I loved Roswell, Tess was one of my favourite characters. I didn't like the way that Alex died, I think he deserved better and why did Tess have to kill him? Liz annoyed me too, she was just so blah! Always going on about Max and running around nosing into everyones business! 0] I sat down and watched all three seasons the other week on dvd, season 3 was quite bad, no wonder it got cancelled, especially the who Liz seeing into the future thing...when has any of the aliens been able to do that? The producer Jason Katims said he was going for more relationship show, but I think that it would have been better if they had stuck with the sci-fi element because after all season 2 was really good, probably my favourite - maybe because Tess was in it :b

Roswell was a pretty good little show, although it could've been better. I loved Michael (esp. that thick head of hair-ie. season 1). Max and Liz made me gag, I hated those two! So I was glad when Tess rolled into town. Although I wished they'd paired her w/ Kyle, I hated seeing her pine over Max (she could do sooo much better). The writing on the show could've been a lot better. Kinda seemed like they were making up storylines as they went along. Nothing really seemed planned out. Tess was a near angel one minute and a beotch the next. But I think de Ravin did a good job w/ the material she was given. She's certainly doing well now! ;) I wonder what her fellow Roswell mates are up to?

I think the most successfull out of the Roswell cast is Katherine Heigl. She's in ABCs Grey's Anatomy at the moment, which is quite funny so you should check it out. :b

Ok i'll stop rambling.

If I could only buy one season on dvd I would buy season 1 because it was the best, season 3 was the worst and it only has 18 episodes because it got cancelled early. Some of season 3 is ok, deals with more relationshop stuff (I'm into sci-fi myself), if you loved s1and2 you will be disappointed (as I was). Do you have 1 and 2 on dvd? If you do it's worth getting 3 to complete your collection (but if you liked season 1 and 2 you will be majorly disappointed), if you don't you might as well not get it cos you won't ever watch it again. Season 1 and 2 you will get more your moneys worth than 3.
That's just my opinion, if you're gonna buy dvds you'd want to be able to watch them over and over again wouldn't you? Season 3 really disappointed me especially the ending, but I guess they did that to keep it open just in case they got picked up again. Anyway i've written this all crazy! Do you understand a word I'm saying?
Simplified version:
1)You really like season 1and2 and don't have them on dvd - don't get s3 dvds, disappointment get 1or 2 instead
2)You have 1and2 on dvd - worth completing collection, but disappointment again
3)OR borrow it from someone and then keep it because they most likely never watch it and have only ever seen it once (the week they bought it as well) so they don't really care and wouldn't even notice that you didn't give it back. Then it's worth your money...thats season 3 ...should be free of charge.
If you want closure, season 3 won't give it.
p.s.and max and liz are all over each other, yek :x

Well, I've never seen Roswell. But since seeing Emilie on LOST I have a new found interest. Maybe I'll rent season 1 and 2.
This is the one you all are saying is good right? Is she in both seasons?
Gotta do something to pass the time this summer.

Clairvoyance, I only watched Roswell relatively faithfully for the first season - after that it got a bit too crazy for me, though I still watched occasionally.
You could check the internet movie database (though remember that a lot of the stuff is fan input and may be completely off), for the Roswell (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0201391/) skinny. Check out the summary, the user comments, even the boards (though those are pretty poor compared to this one ;) ). Hope that helps a bit.

Yeah Emilie's in all 3 seasons. Season one she has a couple of episodes (which are pretty damn good episodes! Especailly "Tess, Lies and The Videotape"), season 2 she's a regular and is in all 21 episodes I think and season 3 she appears in one episode as a guest star looking older than she was in 1&2.

I don't really remember if i like Tess or not but I was watching a commercial before the show started and I noticed her was like, "THAT'S TESS!" It's wierd I have no idea how I recognized her. You know, I just knew.

I really liked Emilie in Roswell. I think she played the character really well, if another actress had played Tess she would have been so bitchy and nasty that we would have hated her straight away. But Emilie is so cute and sweet that you liked Tess even though she was bitchy, lol.
I was very glad to find that she was doing Lost, but I still miss Roswell, even though it was a tad lame sometimes.

I'm not going to deny that I have had an unhealthy obsession with Roswell since 1999. I always thought Tess was a great character and brought a lot of dynamic to the show. Although I have to admit I was quite upset when she turned out to be the murderer of Alex. All in All Emilie was a great asset to the show and I would have never watched LOST if she wasnt in it. [also, Terry was Michael's boss during Season 3]

Ohhhh....I really didn't like Emilie/Tess on Roswell. I was/am a huge fan of the Max/Liz relationship, and Tess ruined that!!! And it sucks even more because my name is Tess!!!

Well I didn't read all of these! But I loved Roswell... and I wanted Max to be with Tess and the baby... not that other girl... I remember when I first started to watch "Lost" on the DVD set and I saw "Claire" I was like 'she is so familiar... I know I will find it on the net...' and I was like 'yay'.... Dom is cool... but everytime I see him I think 'hobbit'!

I watched Roswell. And I hated Tess. So I'm not surprised that Claire ended up getting on my nerves. She's annoying.

I was the biggest Roswell fan ever!! I used to tape them, and re-watch every episode 4 times until the next one came on, I used up about a dozen tapes recording all the seasons, and when the dvd's came out, I bought them all ;)
Season one was actually very similair to Lost, with the kind of clues given every week, mysterious characters appearing adding to the story. Anyone remember Indepencence Day, when Michael turned up crying at Maria's window in the rain? That's my all-time favourite Roswell moment :)
Emilie was great on the show, but I think where the show failed her was that they tried to integrate her into the show too soon (perhaps similair to how Ana-Lucia has been on the show so far).
There was the key alein trio, but then within 3 episodes, she was accepted as a 4th alein very quickly. Season 1 was the best, but season 3 is very very under-rated. There was a shift of focus to more of a sci-fi element, and the Dawson's Creek style drama took a backseat.
As far as Tess' character is concerned, if they had matched her up with Kyle rather than Max, the fans would have accepted her alot more easily

I recently bought the season 1 DVD.It was wierd watching Emilie in the show as that was the first show I had seen her in, but have got so used to her playing Claire these days.
Also strange listening to her American accent in Roswell.

I love the show, I'm a geek. What can I say. It was a good show despite that UPN picked it up for Season 3 and tried to change it from what we loved. :(
