Maybe when Claire "saw" Danielle she wasn't remembering but missinterpeting a precognitive thought she was having about something that will be happening in the future.
Could be since Danielle seems to have no clue...and she is good at remembering things from 16 years back at least.
Maybe Claire's psychic was working for Claire's mother when he arranged to have her go to LA. Maybe the mother just wanted the baby far enough away that Claire wouldn't be easily able to get back into the baby's life later on. Maybe the psychic was Claire's mother's pawn and nothing more.
Of course if she dies in Season 2 we may never know.
